We spent a huge amount of time and effort, researching different cabinetry companies in order to find the right match for us. It became clear as we researched that there is a big dividing line within the cabinetry industry. Most typically there are guys who have table saws, and tape measures and they proceed to chop up wood and nail it together. However, a more recent development in the cabinetry business is what we were looking for. The most advanced companies come out, take measurements of the room and then design the cabinetry on a three dimensional computer system. This provides a way of essentially seeing what you're going to create before you even make one bit of sawdust. Once an optimized design is finalized, the wood parts are cut up and drilled by computer controlled machines, that very precisely control the dimensions of the wood parts to within only a few thousands of an inch. At that point the wood panels are simply put together with very little effort and essentially no corrective measures being needed. The result is a cabinet assembly that comes out essentially perfect. All drawers are precisely in line, everything fits pretty much perfectly. And this is how Haynes cabinetry operates. Along with Haynes, using the most advanced methods of creating cabinetry, throughout our project, they continually displayed a most proactive approach to dealing with us. At no point during the project, did we ever have to ask to have something done a second time. Everything we asked was taken care of, and taken care of with a smile. It was as if we were having friends that we've known for years come over and perform this work, they were amazing! Looking back at our home remodel, it is clear that Haynes cabinetry led the pack with regards to comparing them with the other contractors that we had involved in our project. We did hire a layout design specialist prior to meeting Charles, but the company took our design a step further and concocted a very ingenious shape for the lazy susans to maximize storage. The drawers on our base cabinets are deep, spacious and close softly. It's amazing how much we can store now. As with all renovations there were some delays getting the ball rolling, but the final result was well worth the wait. Their fabulous builder, Alfred is incredibly helpful and has called me personally to talk through things. The installers were also top notch. Thanks again, Haynes for a job well done!

You'll start with Misty at their showroom. With some measurements and a couple photos, she'll begin your design, providing 3D renderings along the way. She couldn't have been more pleasant, helpful and patient. My wife Karen and her friend Colleen were the primary decision makers. But, realizing I was out numbered, Misty was compassionately accommodating with the couple of requests I had. Once the design is approved, Bryce (owner) came out to our house for final measurements. Even after his meticulous work, it turned out our refrigerator wouldn't fit under the cabinet above it. He and Misty made the exchange for the next smaller size a breeze. In addition to a top shelf customer experience all the way around, their price was within $100 of Builders Surplus!! I would give them 10 stars if the system allowed it; our highest recommendation.

We stopped by their showroom about three to four times to pick out the tile, countertop, cabinets, etc. and each time Tim was very accommodating and patient. He assisted but was not overbearing at all in terms of helping us choose what would look best and gave some great tips and points. Our master bathroom was more than just a facelift, we removed a closet, extended the bathroom, fixed a leak, moved some plumbing and electrical, etc. Each crew member we interacted with was extremely professional, did the work quickly and professionally, and Sam the foreman was helpful in answering all of our questions. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the end product. Tim and his entire team are very patient, communicative, and we will likely use EKB again when we get our other bathrooms and kitchen redone.

I read the other posts regarding poor customer service , specifically company representatives not returning calls timely. This past Friday, July 12, I drove to their showroom in Irvine \ Santa Ana to see their work product and hopefully speak to a client representative. I arrived early (9:00AM) and told them I was interested in a closet organizer makeover. Now, I must say the young lady at the front office was very polite. She said no one was available to help me, but she said she would take my number and have someone call me promptly. No such call was ever made by the end of the business day. My personal philosophy is if you don't need my business - I'll find a company that does. They had an entire work day simply return my call. I'll be searching for another company. read more

A designer named Michelle (if I remember her name correctly) came to our home to take measurements. Our closets are unusually deep--about 25 inches--and I specifically emphasized that I wanted the full depth to be used. She assured me that wouldn't be a problem, so I trusted her. After approving the design, I signed the contract, assuming it reflected what we had discussed. Fortunately, I happened to review the plans again before installation and discovered that the shelves had been designed with a standard depth of only 8 inches instead of using the full depth of our custom closets. When I brought this to their attention, I expected them to correct what I believed was a clear misunderstanding. Instead, I was told that the materials had already been ordered and that 99% of their customers use standard-depth shelves. That completely misses the point--we hired them to build custom closets, not standard ones. We tried multiple times to work out a reasonable solution, but the company was unwilling to take responsibility or meaningfully discuss alternatives. Their communication was frustrating, and the customer service throughout the process was extremely disappointing. My advice is to review every single measurement and detail before signing anything, even if you've discussed everything in person. Don't assume the design reflects what was agreed upon. Based on my experience, this company did not deliver the level of customization or customer service I expected. This is a very shade company stay away.

The cabinet displays that were available looked beautiful and appeared to be good quality. However, after comparing quotes from other local cabinet companies, we found their pricing to be on the higher side and not competitive enough for our project. Overall, we had a positive experience with the staff, but we hope the showroom will be easier to browse once construction is complete.

We were very impressed with Jack and the initial meeting but wanted to be thorough. We had meetings with 6 other companies throughout Orange County. After each meeting, we kept coming back to Pelican because of the fact that they manufactured their own cabinets and the impressive quality of those cabinets. Eventually we chose to sign with Pelican and now that the project is over, we undoubtedly chose correctly. During the design phase, Jack was extremely helpful and had great suggestions on how to refine our design to fit the needs of our space while also being happy to incorporate our ideas. Once construction started, our Project Manager Chris took over and ran everything perfectly. His constant communication and attention to detail trickled down to the construction team. There is no doubt the project was a success largely because of Chris. The various construction team throughout the project were all extremely nice, clean, and considerate. Our primary cabinet installer Mauricio deserves a special call out. His installation and carpentry was perfect. The countertop fabricator, Jose, was also incredible. In addition, beautiful custom cabinets were built for an entertainment center and unique cupboards in the dining room, and special wood doors were designed for the bedroom and laundry closets. All work was done by Elie and his team, which included new flooring and baseboards, painting, and new lighting. Elie was always available by phone, text, or email, and he was especially helpful for me as I was out of town for the project, and he sent me weekly updates and videos. In addition, the work expenses were itemized and were followed exactly, except for a few change orders that he and I both approved, so there were no unexpected expenses. He's incredibly easy to work with, efficient, and does amazing quality work. We went on vacation for 1 week and within 1 week he completed a kitchen remodel and custom cabinets on our stairs, built a new fireplace mantel, and even took down a wall.
