This is almost comical. We come here about once a week and the food is ok. Today I ordered 2 tacos. One chicken and one carnitas. This is what I was served (see pic). I had to stop the manager to ask what normally comes on a taco. Yes, I already know what comes on a taco but, I wanted to make sure she did too‍. She answered correctly. Lettuce and cheese. As you can see in the photo, I was served 2 tortillas with meat. NOTHING else. She said she was sorry. That's it. I asked them to take the tacos off the bill. They wouldn't do it. Yes, they did bring me lettuce and cheese after my food came out. Yes, I ate one of the tacos. But, since I had to wait til my food was cold and then make my own tacos, what was the point of going to a restaurant where they are supposed to make the food hot and for you? I could've made my own at home in half the time it took them to get their crap together. Won't be back with that kind of customer service. Thoroughly unimpressed. read more

Enjoyed very good service here. The menu is extensive and took me a while to go through it. I didn't want something I could get at home, so ordered the Cocktail de Camerones, which had great flavor (posted picture with description). They had at least 5 different cocktail type of dishes, including a couple with octopus. There was a choice of 2 sizes, 12 and 24oz. The 12oz was perfect for my appetite. Add to that a variety of sizes for the draft beer choices, 12,16, 24, 32 and pitcher sized. They also offer 1/2 and full sizes of some of their dishes - I like that. They had a variety of jarred hot sauces on the table, along with the fresh salsa with the chips. The salsa had a bit of heat and was very tasty. My son always gets a soft taco with ground beef, cheese and lettuce. He expects it to taste like his favorite Mexican place at home, and this one didn't disappoint. He's very picky. The prices were very reasonable and the bill was less than $20 for 2. I recommend checking this place out. read more

Me and my work buddies wanted to get some Mexican and this place sounded good, on paper. The food was eatable nothing special but my elote was just slopped together. My bill was 53$ for ONE drink and my food, and to top it off they added an automatic gratuity to all of our checks( it was just 4 of us), I like to tip but I don't like being forced to tip. My wife and I are visiting High Point to shop for furniture. Our hotel highly recommended Cabo Grill. Based on their recommendation, we order takeout because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. While waiting for my food, I was surprised by the number of waitresses without masks. Once I returned to the hotel with our meals, we discovered that the meal was incomplete. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the Manager. A man identifying himself as Henry apologized for the inconvenience and offered us a free meal the next time we come in to the restaurant for dinner. I explained that I was visiting from out of town and would not be back. I requested a refund and he said I would need to come back to the restaurant to receive it. Henry told me what time he would be working until. I arrived back at the restaurant before the end of Henry's shift. No one in the restaurant knew who Henry was. I asked for the Manager and was told conveniently that he was gone for the night. As Iooked in the dining room, I saw a man (employee) behind the hostess stand. He remembered me from the pick up order and identified himself as Henry. He then gave me a partial refund which was different than he committed to. The bottom line is the food was mediocre but plentiful and the staff and manager are sleazy. I wouldn't bother frequenting Cabo Grill. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

My wife and I went for supper Friday night. It was our first visit and everything was really great. Lynn ordered a chicken tostada and I had the Cozumel which is a seafood dish. Unless you are actually sitting down to eat, DO NOT get a to go order. They confuse the orders when handing them out, time and time again. They argue with you while they "check" the order when you advise them that is not your order. I was told that was the order I placed when I told them that's not even close to what I had ordered. Not wanting to argue anymore, and being very hungry by now, I asked for my money back. I was refused. I left knowing I would never come back again and I had just lost over $43.00. read more

Ordered cheese dip..had to ask for it twice and then it came out cold and tasted awful. We left before they could even make the rest of our food. Last night the restaurant had a group in their big room. I sat at the bar where there was no bartender. It appears the girls that are serving tend to the bar as well. They are also making their own drinks. Several locals were at the bar complaining about the inability to get more service. When they could grab a waitress they got their checks and left. It took 15 minutes from the time of my arrival for anyone taking my order I would have left but I just didn't want to go drive around and find another restaurant. I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas and while they were tasty the shrimp came with tails on , I had to ask for tortillas and they did not bring me chips and salsa. We usually don't have any issues with this place. My husband ordered pepsi! TWICE it tasted like diet. I got Dr Pepper and it was great. there was not a big crowd so we didn't think it would take a while for service-we ordered our food then cake-before this I had ordered a drink to wash down my dinner-didn't receive this until it was time for us to go-we sat there long enough. A customer to the side had a problem-he approached the manager-they seem to be in disagreement & said manager walked off. I thought it was rude-The food was not as good as it usually is-our daughter didn't finish her burger-I ate half mine. hopefully next time it'll be better but we won't be going back for a good while. read more

Having a late lunch/early dinner after ziplining at Kersey Valley Ziplines. The food here is excellent. The menu is huge with lots of authentic Mexican dishes. I am from Houston, TX where we have many Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican restaurants. Being in NC, I really wasn't sure what to expect. I was so pleasantly surprised, I really wish we had this place near my current home in GA. I had the Camarones Chipotle and it was a great choice. The grilled flavor on the shrimp couldn't have been better. Their corn tortillas are deliciously homemade and must have flour in them because they were very pliable. Great for many of us, but if you are gluten intolerant, you might want to ask first. Overall, I highly recommend this place for great Mexican food and very good service. read more

After looking at the latest reviews, I was a bit worried. In all honesty this was the opposite of a lot of the reviews I saw. Our waitress, Renata was an amazing person who took care of us extremely well and I am thankful for as there isn't many places with folks like that. My wife and I met up with our two friends and their 5 year old son at this restaurant on Cinco de Mayo. They were advertising $2 street tacos. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla (just the quesadilla no sides) and I ordered two street tacos. I wanted one birria taco and one chicken taco. My friend ordered the same. Our friends son ordered a plate of rice. We understood that since it was Cinco de Mayo, it might be a little wait for the food, and we were okay with that. They brought my wife a cheese quesadilla (wrong), brought my friend and I three birria tacos each (wrong), and the plate of rice for our friends kid was ice cold (wrong). When they finally brought out the correct chicken quesadilla for my wife, there were beans and rice on her plate, so we assumed they added those sides as an apology for getting the quesadilla incorrect the first time. After this, our waitress would check in on us maybe once every 30 minutes. It took an eternity for her to bring us our bill. When we went to pay our bill, we come to find a 15% mandatory tip was added onto our bill, they charged us $13 for the tacos (not the $2 ones we ordered), and they charged us for a the full quesadilla meal even though that's not what we ordered. I do not understand what constitutes a mandatory 15% tip despite the service being pretty unacceptable. It felt like we were scammed. We will not be back. This is the best place I have been to in a long time outside my own kitchen. Being raised inside the Hispanic community that exists inside the United States I can cook authentic Mexican food just like someone who was born and raised in Mexico but sometimes I like to go out to eat and not cook. This was a great find in Archdale. Went to High Point to furniture shop and ended up staying at the Hampton Inn down the road. Gave this place a try the first night and ordered the enchiladas rancheras and the chile verde. Both were good and the portions were large. The carnitas were really crispy and all the food was piping hot. Our server did a great job. We asked for a spicier salsa and he brought 2 out. The green tomatillo salsa was really tasty and the red one was good as well. Ask for the green one and put it on everything! We left there stuffed. Good thing we walked! The next night we decided to go back again. This time we shared the enchiladas and got an a la carte taco so we didn't need a forklift to get us home. The service was not as good on night 2, but the food was just as good. This place is definitely worth a try. The only negative was they up charged our bill both nights for things that were included in the meals. They add extra if you order both rice and beans if you only have a choice of one. The meals we had included both. The first night, I think the manager brought our bill back and acknowledged it was wrong. The second night our server acted like we were crazy and made a big deal about it. Not sure if it is intentional or a training issue, but just a heads up to check your bill. read more

Burrito had very burnt charcoal briquet type pieces of meat inside it that were not edible at all. They were nice and removed it from the bill but a check back on the food would have been better.
