All I want to know is....What happened? I used to come a lot on Sundays before visiting my father nearby. Hadn't been in a while, but dropped in today. Service was mediocre. He was taking my order but kept looking toward the door as if the president was about to walk in. I had to keep repeating things. Food came out quickly and order was correct, but my steak fajitas were about cooked to charcoal. This is the worst place in Archdale to eat Mexican. We just moved in this area and I was optimistic about this place. Well, let down. The Cabo Grill recently took over another Mexican restaurant we used to visit at lunch due to the close proximity to work. They were clean, had good food, and we could eat and actually have time to talk before heading back to work. Very convenient. We gave the Cabo Grill a try hoping it was at least as good as the old. The decor had been freshened up, the menu updated, and the staff was new. I am very happy to report everything was better than expected. Our food was fast, delicious, and hot. Our waiter was terrific! All of the staff there was friendly and made sure we enjoyed our visit. We will definitely make the Cabo Grill a frequent lunch destination! read more

Been going here for a while and had a few problems. The food is good, but the service is lacking and depending on your waiter/waitress can be slow. Three times I have ordered a torta with milanesa chicken. First time was perfect. Second time I received milanesa steak. Third time I got grilled chicken. The third time I sent it back and it came back with no avocado slices. The waiter also did not come back to check if everything was as ordered. My wife finished her meal before I even got mine. First time visiting, and wow I was impressed. The lunch special was super cheap ($4.99 to be exact!) and it was huge! Ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla with rice and beans and everything was delicious. The chicken was so tasty and tender. I also tried my friends beef burrito and it was large and tasty as well. The quesadilla was huge, I couldn't believe it was the lunch portion and for that cheap! Also we were served bean dip along with salsa for free. I've seen a couple places come and go in this location, so at first I was skeptical. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the owner, David, who happens to be a friendly face from the San Luis chain in Greensboro. Our server, Andres came right after to take us to our table and grab our drinks. Chips came promptly, then drinks, and when we were ready to order he was back. Food was great! Chili Relleño was about average, but most are, rice was good, chips and salsa were replenished and hot and the salsa had a fresh, slightly spicy taste. The kids enjoyed theirs as well. I ordered the lunch Cocina. I assumed they were making it fresh considering I was informed that I could pick the order up in approx 20 minutes. I Arrived approx. 20 minutes later and had to wait another 5 to 10 minutes.....I paid and left. I got to work, which is across the street....so less than a 1 minute commute and immediately opened the container, to eat and not only did they forget the tortillas but the food was barely warm. The rice and beans were both cold. The chicken, steak and shrimp were barely warm.....so I'm not certain why I waited so long when they obviously did not cook any of this food fresh. The food came almost astonishingly fast, which is good of course. I got the chicken fajita quesadilla with the side of rice and beans. The rice was not good and dried out. The fajita was also a bit dry but ok. The waitress was nice but whenever I asked for something, like a box or the check, there was an awkward sense like I was pulling her teeth. The best thing going for this place is the service. The food was basic there was nothing to write home about. The cheese dip was the best thing we had. I had a side salad, grilled Chicken with cheese dip and beans. Chicken was over cooked and chewy and no ranch dressing in the restaurant at all they had other kinds but I don't eat those. This used to be a great place to get Mexican food. The service has always been on the lower side but convenience kept us coming back. Our ticket is wrong every.single.time however, they always correct it. (My hubby thinks they do this on purpose) anyhow, tonight beat all! I ordered nachos and they came out swimming in grease. Our waitress never returned for me to ask them to make them over so I took them up to the cashier and asked they be taken off. All of a sudden our waitress had time to help. She held the dish, looked at it and asked "what's wrong with it" for real!? I took it from her and tilted to deepen the pool of grease even further. Had a great Cabo San Lucas style dinner at this place yesterday, and being originally from California, I'm happy to say that for any other NC transplant there's an authentic place to go! Looking at the menu online, I was impressed by the variety of Mexican seafood options! Even though it seems to be a seafood restaurant primarily, we didn't get any seafood! What we got was HUGE and very WELL PREPARED! First, common chips and salsa and a huge portion of cheese dip! Second, we had a sampler, 4 chimichangas/4quesadillas/4bbq drums/a big handful of chicken strips/ and 4 cheese jalapeno poppers! great thing is that it was all hand made and not from a bunch of packaged freezer appetizers! THIRD, we had tacos (real), enchiladas, and tamales! Btw, the tamales are actually really good! We would and will be returning, we recommend that everyone give this place a try! After we ordered we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes and never received our food. We ended up leaving. Me and my family have been here numerous times. Some good and some just plain horrible. This past weekend I have officially decided that we will never give them any more chances. So on 01/07/18 me and my family visited and from the start I knew it was going to be a bad night as it took 10 minutes to be sitted in a room of probably about 3 tables (not busy at all). Then it took our "waiter" (Some kid) 15 minutes to even come and get our drink order and then acted surpriesed when we said we were ready to order our food. My food was a messy undercooked torta (Mexican sandwitch)... the waiter not once asked why I didn't eat my food and one checked on us one time and we ended up going to the counter to get our check and pay because he never came back... also as we sat there trying to enjoy our meal the wait staff stood beside us watching the game on tv and not tending to any of their tables. There stall looked like 6 kids who really shouldn't be working there. I don't think I saw any one over the age 18 even working this night. Needless to say we will never be going back to this restaurant again. Also out of the 14 times I've been to this place service and the food just sucked... Waited ten more minutes for a drink order, waited another 10 minutes for a food order, only got a water, two orders of cheesy rice, and a side of beans, waited 20 minutes for the food to come out, never received check and was charged more that suppose to at cash registered. My new favorite stop on the drive between Atlanta and Raleigh! Food was fantastic - I got shrimp fajitas, my friend got a salad with grilled salmon. Both were delicious with very generous portions, including the salmon steak (which was cooked perfectly!) on the salad. In addition to their food, the service here is truly extraordinary. I left my wallet (with over $200 in cash, all my credit cards, drivers license, etc) at the restaurant and didn't realize it until I was practically back in Atlanta. I called and they confirmed it was there and said they would ship it back to me. Which they did! With everything still in it! I look forward to my next trip back up to Raleigh and stopping at the Cabo Grill. read more

Extremely disappointed. Went to lunch on a Sunday, Party of 8. It took 1HOUR and 10 Minutes to get our orders. Not one order was correct. Honestly not one order was complete. No tortillas with meals that should have tortillas, no rice and beans with meals that were to include them. I sent back my vegetarian Fajitas as I received no tortillas, rice or beans... when they did bring the rice and beans they were cold. Everyone's rice was cold. The service was terrible. The waiter blamed the kitchen staff. I spoke with the manager told him I would like to come back in the future. We received an $11 discount This is ridiculous due to the awful service and the condition of the food when we received it as well as the fact that I just sent mine back as it was not edible. I paid the 68.00 bill and will never go back again. This was a terrible restaurant experience. My Suggestion.. Make your food at home or find another Mexican restaurant. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone under any circumstance. If I could rate this place less than 1 star I would. Avoid at all costs - Not worth the money. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the service while trying this new location out. The food was average, but pallatable. The restaurant was plain, but clean and well kept. The reason for my poor review was the abyssmal service. Another comment stated that requests were looked upon like you were pulling their teeth. I requested extra salsa for my food twice with the same go "f" yourself expression from the waiter. Before you write me off as another pain in the ass customer, let me explain. Salsa is not just an appetizer, it is a food group. I love that shit!!!! One small portion, just won't cut it. I'm pretty sure it was Pace too.
