Pesto pasta salad and barnyard sandwich
    Ellyn S.

Boulder's Bar and Grill was super busy when we went, but the food was great and worth it. I also love the area it's in -- lots of cute little spots to walk around before or after. The grouper bites with remoulade are one of my favorites anywhere, and they did a really good job with them here. My husband got the chili nachos -- they looked amazing and the flavor was solid. He also tried the traditional buffalo wings and said they were decent. I had the barnyard chicken sandwich with the honey mustard on the side, which I'd recommend unless you really love honey mustard. I actually preferred it without or would probably go with ranch next time. The sandwich itself was really good and cooked well. The pesto pasta salad on the side was fantastic. A little pricey for bar food but definitely worth trying, and as a bonus, you're just a few steps away from dessert at Sweet Dough Bakery.

Boulders is a great little restaurant with some yummy food. The vibe is casual and fun. The food is comfort with a twist. The service has been excellent each time we've visited. Enjoyed the grilled cheese with BBQ on my last visit. It was so good and I was so full. Especially after the tots appetizer.

I finally found my favorite meal here! The blackened grouper sandwich! I usually never finish my meal but this sandwich was light and filling. The pickles were the finishing touch pulling all the flavors together. Our server was kind and efficient. Dining inside is a bit loud but it is a sports bar like atmosphere. TV's everywhere which I don't prefer but can tolerate but would recommend not showing the news because most people go to dinner to unwind and relax but the news is not relaxing. The largest TV was showing the Olympics which was good. I especially prefer sitting outside but it was a little chilly for that this time of year. We will definitely be back and I already know what I want! We also had a Reuben that was very yummy!

Been here a few times now, and figured it was time to share my thoughts as for the most part, they have all been good! Boulder's, which is named after the owner's dog, is a tavern that has moved into the shopping area shared by other area favorites like the Goofy Foot Tap Room, Sweet Dough, and Basil Leaf Thai. Inside you'll find plenty of TV's around to catch any game you'd want, and the vast majority of the seating as you walk is in high top tables. Not normally my favorite, but on these the bar to rest your feet is in the right spot, so I found them comfortable enough. There is regular seating around the corner if available and patio seating for good weather. The menu here pulls a lot from Kayne's other restaurants, particularly Old Town in Greensboro. That is good news for the chicken philly, something I have gotten twice now because it is exceptionally similar to the best in town version at Old Town! Maybe just needs a little more seasoning on the grill and a bit more of the garlic aioli, but it was super close. That will keep me coming back. The tots here are always perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The ranch for dipping is excellent. The meatloaf sandwich here is OK, but not as good as what was presented at Kau or Old Town. So I'll skip that for future visits. The Reuben I got to try a bite of from someone else and I thought it was just OK as well, a little tough. The best appetizer I have munched on so far is by far the pulled pork nachos. Well balanced flavors and plenty to share with a group of 4! A group could probably be happy pulling at these and having some drinks if they weren't overly hungry. The first time I went the service was very lackluster, but they were also pretty new then. The last two visits, we have had very attentive and friendly service from different staff than we saw before. I will continue to make this a neighborhood stop!

This place knocks it out of the park every time!!! Busy inside but seated immediately. Not to noisy. Servers were polite welcoming and got the orders correct. The food....oh my goodness!! I couldn't put that burger down!! I usually only eat 1/2. I devoured it.

I've had Boulder's on my wish list for a while and we finally made a Friday night date night out of it. What a great dinner! Despite looking full when we walked in, we were still seated immediately by friendly smiling staff, and that really set the tone for the visit. Service was prompt and attentive the entire visit, and we never had to worry about an empty glass or any other delays. Food came out fast, piping hot, and delicious. We started with the Pretzels which came out so hot we had to let them rest for a few minutes. They were served with their signature Hatch Queso along with some Carolina Gold sauce, and both of those were great compliments to delicious pretzels. They didn't last long on the table. Dinner was a Da Joey grilled cheese and a Chicken Philly. The Da Joey was honestly one of the best grilled sandwiches I've ever had, perfectly crisp on the outside without being burnt, with the rich flavors of onions, deli meats, sourdough bread, and the marinara for dipping swirling to make magic. I took home half and finished it the next day for lunch, and it was just as good the next day after a quick pop in the air fryer to crisp it a bit. Likewise, the chicken Philly was delicious and such a generous portion that we took about half home as well. Whatever seasoning blend they use on the chicken was fantastic with flavor, and it was very tender and juicy. Sides were tots (perfectly crisp and lightly salted) and pesto pasta salad (oily for my liking, probably wouldn't order again.) They have a modest beer and wine list and a short cocktail list as well, but we chose to omit the bar from our experience today. At around $15 a drink, we felt the cocktail pricing was high. Boulder's exceeded my expectations and I'm glad we finally got around to visiting. We'll be back! Great food, great service, and fair (food) pricing is the dinner trifecta.

We got here right when they opened at 11am on a Wednesday and were greeted warmly and seated right away. We chose to sit outside and loved the patio--it's a really nice space with a great vibe. Our food came out quickly after ordering. I had the chicken Philly with light cheese and the sauce on the side. It was thick, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The fries were perfectly crunchy too. My wife loved her salad. The service was excellent, and everything from the logo to the atmosphere made the experience even better. This spot has everything we look for, and we'll definitely be making it a regular stop!

Smash burger (no pickles) & tots

We chose to sit outside on the very pleasant evening. Makayla is the best waitress!! She's very attentive & informative. She knows the menu well! The tots were hot & crispy = perfection! The smash burger was good( not the best), needed a little salt & pepper. I was told the smash sauce is reminiscent of that island sauce on the double arches famous burger by name). There's no pickles in this sauce & it was more like a mayo -ketchup mix. I requested some bbq sauce to try with the burger. The sauce is very thin, not thick like usual bbq sauces. It's more like a sauce you'd put on chopped bbq. It was sweet and had a little kick, but it was good for dipping. We'd both be back, but try other items.

Named for the owners' late Yellow Lab, Boulder's features a canine motif throughout. This, the establishment's cleanliness, and a few intriguing menu options help distinguish it from the average sports bar despite the requisite noise and screens. As a newcomer to High Point, it's off to a good start, albeit with room for improvement. Boulder's is seat yourself, and between the dining room, the bar, and the patio, there's a good chance you'll be able to. The menu offers the wings, apps, and burgers that you'd expect as well as a few pleasant surprises. They offer several variations of a fancy grilled cheese, grouper in a sandwich or in fried bites, and a surprising number of salads. For our first visit, my wife and I went with a pretzel app and then the pimento bacon burger and the meatloaf sandwich, respectively. Overall, the food was satisfying if unremarkable. The soft pretzels were in sticks rather than twists, and they came with a pair of dipping sauces: a mustard (OK) and a queso (tasty, with a nice green chili kick). The meatloaf sandwich was simple - meatloaf, ketchup, and Swiss on sourdough - though it made for a deceptively filling meal. While the meatloaf was seasoned well (savory with just a hint of sweet), the "spicy" ketchup didn't deliver any heat. I went with onion rings for my side, and they were crisp and nicely battered. The burger was good if a bit of a mess to try to eat. New restaurants often need a little time to get the hang of service, but that wasn't the case here. Our server was on top of things, and the kitchen turned around food fairly promptly. You'll pay in the mid-teens for a burger or a sandwich (side included) here, which isn't unreasonable. The onion rings were a dollar upcharge and well worth it, but a dollar to swap the burger's onions for pickles seemed excessive. Boulder's has potential, and I'm curious to see what kind of specials they come up with when they are further established. In the meantime, it's a solid option if you want a lively atmosphere.

We needed to visit to verify that this is fit for Tabitha. We are those dog parents. So happy we ventured out at the last minute to give Boulder's a try. This is such a dog friendly place, really warms our heart. Boulder's has an exceptional menu, very price friendly and the portions will require a doggy-bag! Drink prices are awesome. Great venue to watch your favorite sports. The staff is magnificent.

After a run from Fleet Feet to celebrate Global Run Day, we stopped into Boulder's to check out the new neighbor! We were greeted quickly by a waitress and told we could sit anywhere, but took our order to the bar since we were getting it to go. The bartender was quick to welcome us and offer menus. They've got a good variety of burgers, sandwiches, wings and apps. I opted for a steak Philly, with fries. The wait was a bit long, but it's still the first few days, and it was a full house. When the food came out, it was fresh, hot, and looked great. Eating it a few minutes later, it was just as tasty as it looked, and the fries cooked perfectly. The interior is a typical sports bar, with lots of screens all over the place. And a great drink menu Overall, it was a great experience and I look forward to getting back there to try a pimento burger, or their brisket Mac and cheese bowl...both were calling to me, but I made a choice and was happy with the Philly tonight. Having only been open a few days, it was clear everyone is wearing many hats as they navigate the fresh opening. But the staff was friendly, and patient. I definitely recommend, and will be back.

Wanted to get out so we decided to try Boulders again. I like that the place is new and looks up to date. We had the queso with Hatch Chilies and tortillas to start. I really like this appetizer. For dinner we got the Reuben with Potato salad. Also the Steak Philly with a side salad. The Rueben could have used a bit more sauerkraut. The potato salad was average. The Philly cheese steak lacked any green peppers and onions. Just meat and cheese is the way it came. A bit of a disappointment. The service was very good. We'll be back and try other items on the menu.

Accommodating Bar & Grill with sports TVs all around the large bar & dining area, which seats small or large groups. There's an outside dining area, which is pet friendly. Lots to appreciate: Atmosphere, attentive & friendly staff, appetizers, grill foods & wide drink selections for lunch or dinner. I had the grouper sandwich & pasta salad & my wife had the steak sandwich & potato salad. Both were delicious. I highly recommend you check out Boulders. Entrées followed in a reasonable time, no real issue there. Sammy G's has been in High Point for years and offers a wide menu with a little bit of everything. They also bring out little yeast rolls that are pretty good and they were warm when served. We started with the thin cut onion rings. My husband said "less than spectacular," and that sums it up. Some were sliced so thin you mostly tasted breading, and they were a bit greasy. I would skip these. He ordered the fish sandwich with Brussels sprouts (premium side with a small upcharge). The sandwich was okay, nothing special. The Brussels sprouts were good, nicely cooked with solid flavor. I had the Fratellis salad with greens, cranberries, feta, mozzarella, Granny Smith apples, and candied pecans, and added sirloin for an upcharge. They forgot the steak at first, but brought it out shortly after in a separate bowl. Not a big deal. The sirloin was cooked medium as requested, a little red inside and tender enough to cut easily. It had good flavor. I chose the apple cider vinaigrette, which worked well with the salad. I also ordered the chef's selection soup, which was supposed to be lobster bisque. If there was any lobster, it was microscopic. The flavor was slightly bitter and just not good. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Service handled everything well, including the mistake with the steak and the soup. Atmosphere is casual tavern style, relaxed and easy for a weekday lunch. Must order: Fratellis salad with sirloin and apple cider vinaigrette (yummy), Brussels sprouts Heads up: Skip the thin cut onion rings and don't expect much from the bisque. Other soups, I've had here in the past have been great though.

The deep fried crab balls were delicious, and the fries were cooked perfectly. For the wings, we tried multiple flavors including Atomic Buffalo, Sweet Chili, Lemon Pepper, Teriyaki, and Jerk. The cook on the wings was excellent -- crispy without being dry. Some flavors stood out more than others depending on personal preference, but the Sweet Chili and Teriyaki were favorites for our table. The ranch was also really good, which definitely matters with wings. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and food made this a fun experience and we'd return again.

The bartender welcomed us and assured us they were, and invited us to seat ourselves. We grabbed seats at a high top, and she brought over the menus and took our drink orders. First thing I noticed was the table tops were not flat, they were wavy and made it very easy to spill your drink, so beware, and be careful where you put your drink down. The menu was pretty standard bar food, burgers, sandwiches, wings and other fried items. I decided to try their build your own burger, an 8oz patty with choice of cheese and toppings. Only side options were fries or hot chips. Food was quick to come out, but again, we were the only people there. The burger was OK, although just a frozen patty, they grilled up, the fries were good, but the portion felt a little small. Overall it was okay, perhaps they're still trying to get thing figured out. The bartender was friendly though. I didn't see a bar menu, but from what I could see they had a fully stocked bar. As we left, we poked our head around to the other side of the building to find a golf simulator, some billiards tables and a few arcade games. Lots of tvs every where though, probably a good place to catch a game.

My NY strip and my wife's bourbon glazed salmon. Wait. Salmon? She didn't order salmon. We both recognize it as salmon, but our waiter isn't so sure. "Why don't you taste it?", he asks my wife. My wife, who doesn't like salmon or she would've ordered salmon, is a little put out by this request, and I agree. I taste it and confirm it is indeed salmon. Also, it's one piece, while the chicken clearly says it comes with two breasts. "Oh, it comes with one, but you have to ask for two.", our waiter says, which is clearly opposite from how it's worded in the menu. We had planned to split both dishes, so he takes the salmon back, and we start on the steak. It's terrible. What isn't fatty is dry and tasteless. How do they charge $25 for something like this that's so bad? Rice and broccoli were fine, but the steak was bad bad bad. Worse than Michael Jackson ever was. We've completely finished with the steak dish when the chicken finally comes out. While not the best chicken we've ever had, compared to the steak we forced ourselves to eat, the chicken seemed like it had been blessed by God. For the record, the chicken looked NOTHING like the salmon. There is no way the two could've been confused. It's impossible to get our server to pay attention to us. I finally get his attention by flapping my arms. Yes, really. We get our bill, but then he won't come back. Eventually, we're both giving him the death stare, "Yes, I know", he says at one point. "All I want to do is pay my bill.", I say as a reply. To which, he walks off again. He then comes back a little while later and probably wasn't surprised to see that no tip was given. It's been many many years since I've left a restaurant leaving no tip at all. This experience was so bad I feel like they owe me some money just for going in the first place. All our happy memories of good Ruby Tuesday experiences in the past have been ruined by this sad sad excuse for a dining experience that has put me a little closer to my grave.

ugh - maybe restaurant service is better. The takeout is usually thrown together and greasy (I've…read morehad takeout burgers before). The chicken sandwich was ok - I'm glad I opted for cheese or I would have been highly disappointed. No lettuce, and I had to add my own. Broccoli was way overcooked and no taste. Thankfully the steak kabobs tasted better than it looked. Lackluster to say the least with minimal rice and tons of peppers. * The food is pictured as when the lid was opened.
