This restaurant deserves 10 Stars! We walked in and we were greeted by a kind lady behind the counter and got seated within 2 mins. Our server got our drinks right away and chips and salsa. While waiting for our food our server Roberto kept checking on us and brought chips twice. Micheladas are delicious and perfect for the cruda! Mar y Tierra carne asada steak juicy and tender, grilled shrimp rice and beans delicious. Shrimp Tacos plate was good just felt like it needed a little more dressing but it was delicious. Oysters preparadas first time trying oysters and they were pretty good. I liked the topping which is shrimp ceviche. Check in on Yelp and get a free dessert. We got the cheesecake and it was just perfect. While we were eating Roberto kept checking if everything was okay or needed any refills. The atmosphere and service were on point. Went to Mi Pueblo to get food and waited for a while before being seated. it took a while for food but that's normal for this place. got my 7 mares soup.... started to eat the soup... then found a dead pregnant cockroach. wtf. there were three of us who ordered the soup!!! the manager said she's never seen it. how is that possible?! the cockroach was pregnant. this can't be the first time. look at my spoon in the photo! I came here on Taco Tuesday on an off eating time at 2:00 pm. A lot of previous reviews discuss that serious wasn't great which wasn't an issue for us because we had a party of 2 and went during the week on off typical dining hours. For Taco Tuesdays they do carne asada, pollo and carnitas tacos for $1.50 and shrimp and fish tacos for $2. All of the tacos are made on homemade tortillas and you can tell by the quality. Honestly for the price for a battered shrimp/ fish taco you can't beat it. I have noticed it's hard to find Taco Tuesday deals in Ventura County and Mi Pueblo does pretty well. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. We also used our Yelp checkin for a free dessert we got the ice cream sundae. All the fixings on the sundae: vanilla ice cream, whip cream, sprinkles, cherry and chocolate sauce. read more

My Pueblo is a great, local, family run business! I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and they didn't disappoint. The food was so fresh, the drinks were huge, and the staff are super friendly. I couldn't decide if I wanted fish or shrimp tacos so our waiter, Sal suggested I try one of each. I'm also trying to eat healthy so he recommended I have them grilled instead of fried. We are pleased to say that every time we've been here, we've been impressed with good quality food and good service. I recommend you try the jalapeño poppers. We walked in and it took 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. The staff walked past us multiple times without saying hello. The first staff member to acknowledge us was the chef. The restaurant wasn't busy and after the a server asked how many people. It took another 10 minutes before they sat us at an empty table the said they were "getting ready" the did nothing to get the table ready. They did not put silverware down. They just sat us there after making us wait while they did nothing. The server was nice when she came to the table. But it took over 45 minutes to get our food. We didn't not receive our food at the same time. First two fishes came out. Ten minutes later two other dishes came out, then fifteen minutes after that the final two dishes came out. As a party of six. It was not appropriate to have food come out at different times. There was almost a half hour between the first and last fish brought to the table. The server came back to check on us once during our meal. But never came back when we were done eating. We had to go up to the front to ask for our check and Togo box. When we asked the person at the register to split the check between two cards she charged it all to one. She did not offer to correct it. We will not be going back. read more

This place is delicious! I found it on accident during a pregnancy adventure to Krispy Kreme and it was a hit with the entire family. The potato enchiladas are amazing and the vegetarians and non-vegetarians in our family loved them. The homemade corn tortilla's are some of the best I've ever had and the iced tea (sweet and unsweetened) is delicious and so refreshing on a hot day. You don't find a good sweet tea around here often so my partner (who grew up on the stuff) is obsessed. The guacamole is so fresh and the rolled taquitos are great. My son loves the red rice and I'm a fan of the white rice. We don't live close by but it's definitely worth the drive and dealing with traffic to eat here. They have a ton of seafood options and I can't wait to come back and try them all! They really need to clean or replace the fixtures in the bathroom, though. The food was served warm and without a doubt the carnitas were NOT fresh but rather taken from the fridge and microwaved. The chips were a bit greasy and while warm tasted a little stale so the only thing that was good about the meal were the corn tortillas. I live near by and have been wanting to try Mi Pueblo because it's so convenient for me and I love Mexican cuisine. The restaurant was clean and the parking ample but when you walked up to the restaurant there was an overwhelming smell of sewer which is not what you want before you eat. The hostess seated us right away. Our server Robert was very friendly and attentive. He checked on us frequently to make sure everything was ok. He filled out water promptly. He immediately brought us chips and salsa. I wasn't that impressed. It was kind of bland and tasted like tomatoes with not a lot of flavor. There are so many Mexican restaurants to chose from so you really need to impress me with the salsa as that is the first impression. My husband ordered the shrimp cocktail and I ordered the grilled shrimp platter as this is a seafood specialty restaurant. His shrimp cocktail was not anything special. I've had better at order at the window mexican restaurants in Ventura. My grilled shrimp was ok. The shrimp wasn't very big and most of them were not even clean. The rice was ok. Kind of bland like white rice with some flecks of corn. The sautéed vegetables were not very hot and tasted like soap. The potato salad had too many black olives and that overwhelmed the flavor. For the price point I was really expecting something more special. By the reviews some people had a better experience than we did. I don't know if I would go back. THis place is beautifully decorated. Very clean and family oriented atmosphere. Has a TVs through out the place for sporting event. We had a minimum of 3 staff members checking in on us. We ordered the following: Coctel de Camaron it was full to the rim with shrimp and all the fixings including big slices of avocado. Simply delicious. The Aguachiles were very well prepared. They give La Veros a run for their money..I love Aguachiles from La Veros..but his place has more variety in the menu. Might be my new favorite. El Molcajete was on POINT; my boyfriend loved the shrimp and asada. The chorizo and nopales were so good too. Served with a pile of fresh handmade tortillas. Being a Restaurant owner myself, I can honestly say that this place has great seafood options and service is A+. To start We ordered Aguachiles and Queso Fundido both were delicious, Queso Fundido had to much Chorizo and overpowered the cheese. Main entree we ordered Molcajete and Camarones a la Piña and both plates were very delicious and had good serving portions, better than other restaurants we've been to!! I gave them a 4 because the Queso Fundido had more chorizo than cheese. Other than that I recommend this place, for their great service and good portions. read more

I don't understand all the poor reviews. I've been here twice and both times the food has been absolutely delicious. The Shrimp enchiladas are bomb, the rice and beans tasted great, the guaco was excellent plus complementary chips and salsa! My mom loves their birria! The horchata is delicious and the Jamaica is yummy too. They have daily specials and lunch specials. Both times I've been they have had live music which has been cool. There is plenty of parking. The restroom was clean and well stocked. Service can be a bit slow, food takes a bit long to come out and to get refills we had to ask. read more
