I come here often ! but yes the quality is going down the hill ! today i ordered an asada torta. out of asada , okay . ordered el pastor torta and i could immediately tell it was super lightweight with fries . burnt meat , burnt fries and literally ZERO lettuce and avocado . debating to go back and get my money or a replacement, completely disappointed

In town for work. This was the closest Mexican Food spot to me. Small parking lot. Plenty of parking. Clean Exterior and Interior. I was immediately greeted. I dined in. My server was in excellent, fast and efficient taking my order. They give you chips and salsa on the house. Chips were great. Salsa was just ok. I ordered the green salsa Enchiladas de Pollo combo. Comes with refried beans and Mexican rice. With a dab of sour cream and guac. Honestly, my meal was solid AF. My server promptly checked in on me. This place is perfect for small to medium sized groups. They had a lot of Seafood plates, but I just wasn't in the mood. I would Absolutely Recommend them!!

    To go Breakfast Burrito
    Jennifer F.

Wanted a Breakfast Burrito today so we stop here to check it out. This place is now on my brain for breakfast burritos. Options were ham, bacon or chorizo. I tried the bacon breakfast burrito. We got ours to go & each burrito was in it's own bag with chips, red & green salsa & napkins. Great quality tortilla to start off, eggs, cheese, beans, potatoes & your choice of ham, bacon or chorizo. It made a great hardy Breakfast! The red salsa was my favorite being not too spicy but great chipotle flavor. The green salsa didn't smell spicy but it burned! The beans were DELICIOUS! Next time I'm wanting a bean & cheese burrito I'm coming here. I also want to come back for their Nachos. Overall very tasty & definitely coming back.

Stopped in for a breakfast burrito, and I'm glad I did! I ordered the Chorizo Breakfast burrito. The burrito was nice and hearty, packed full of chorizo, potatoes, cheese and beans. The chorizo was not greasy at all and had good flavor. The potatoes gave the burrito depth and fullness. The beans.. wow.. I really enjoyed the flavor and the consistency of the beans, somewhat creamy or mashed. The tortilla itself was thin, yet pliable, and held the burrito very well. The salsa rojo had a chipotle smokiness and tasted great. The salsa Verde was spicy! It didn't smell spicy, just the aroma of tomatillos but surprises you with a spice in your mouth. Overall, a very very good breakfast burrito. Can't wait to return to try some of their other food!

    Mexican rice

This is definitely the most amazing authentic Mexican food I've ever had! Been to many restaurants instead the US and Mexico and nothing compares. Garlic shrimp bursting with flavor, fresh salad, tasty beans, and rice the way it should be. These tortillas did not disappoint my goal was to get on the freeway but after tasting this food, I sat here and ate it all I am definitely a foodie and very picky. 18 Wheeler truck parking available across the street just pull up! One more thing they did not skimp on the shrimp in regards to the size or the quantity.

I ordered 3 fish tacos and they where awful. The fish must have died 100 years ago & put behind the freezer. Literately burnt and there was 0 meat left. It's not hard to make fresh fish tacos, a little goes a long way guys. I hate to leave bad reviews but I was so disappointed since my tacos where over 5 bucks. I also ordered a salmon burger that was obviously not fresh either and was just plain embarrassing. I didn't expect it to be a delicacy since it's a Mexican restaurant but man oh man ... I just can't

SUPER IMPRESSED! Clean-authentic & delicious! I sometimes work in The surrounding areas and I frequent the car wash across the street. I've always eyeballed this Mexican restaurant. Today I decided to go in and order some food to go for my family. I believe the gentleman might've been the manager, he was very kind and attentive and wanted to make sure I understood the menu and explained all the different foods to me. While waiting for my to go order, he offered me chips and salsa and ice water that I had asked for Definitely recommend it! My family enjoyed the food!

Ordered some tacos to go. Quite possibly the worst I've ever had. The chicken was dry and flavorless. It actually looked like cut chicken from a bag of frozen chicken you can buy at the supermarket. The carnitas was just as bad. It was even drier, as if it was a week old. The other sign it was dry and old, was it was salty. Inedible. I was scared to finish eating them. Go elsewhere. There are plenty of other places nearby.

Pretty much the only place that haven't tried in Oxnard city...until yesterday…read more Let's start with the chips and salsa...always a good indicator of things to come. Wasn't the best, but far from bad. The chips were in one of those steel machines to keep warm, they were thin, crispy, and light salt, the way ALL tortilla chips should be. But they were a bit oily only negative. The salsa was cantina style seemed homemade, was good, zero spice/mild. (B+) Combo fajitas (friend order) it was a good tasting with a terrific plate of guac, pico, refried beans, and shredded cheese. Heck, you couldve made a meal from just the side plate wrap em up call it a veggie fajita party. Very filing and good (A-) Other friends had carne asada burrito, and a steak plate, both happy so assuming they are good. Service was outstanding by several individuals; checking in on order, refilling drinks, cleaning table, all workers are terrific and polite. I was ready for the 5-star goldenrod Neptune-trident throwdown, but my order, the torta (D-) was a complete trainwreck. Al pastor and a torta; took a double-jeopardy style gamble and crapped out, snake eyes big time. The bread was abysmal/ not fresh, the al pastor was ice cold and not memorable, meat fused to a cold hardened melted gooey cheese; send it back, replaced with carne asada, still came back cold (just don't get it.) so that item alone dragged it down a star. I was so full from the chips and salsa, sampling friends' food, and the side order of clam chowder (yes, in a Mex restaurant a first for me, was smoky and quite good too! (A-) that I just picked off some of the cold beef and ate that without the bread. Would I come back? Well, when seaside, I usually crave seafood like a nice fish n chips or something, but if I am ever craving Mex, will bring wife and son. Just will not touch the torta with a diez-foot pole amigo. They also have a salsa bar upon entrance which I completely forgot to pound once food came, shame on me once.

I've always loved their complimentary chips and salsa bar, especially with the marinated jalapeños and onions, such a nice touch that sets them apart from other establishments. I ordered the Baja Seafood Burrito, which came loaded with fresh white fish and shrimp. The seafood tasted fresh, though it could've used a tad more char and seasoning for that extra punch of flavor. The portion sizes are huge, easily enough for two meals. We also tried the Beef Villas for the first time, and it was a pleasant surprise. The beef was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, definitely something we'd order again. The harbor view makes dining here even better. I always recommend sitting outside if the weather allows. Even when it's chilly, there are space heaters up above that easily toast you right up. All in all, Yolanda's remains a local favorite for great reasons: quick and attentive service, hearty portions, and a relaxed coastal vibe that keeps you coming back.

With that being said, I wanted to try it out. This was about 2 years ago prior to this visit I had today at this location. I jotted the note down after overhearing him talking about it while watching Netflix. When arriving, the environment outside is run down, old fashioned and in the scary graffiti, homeless surrounding. Parking is difficult to find, but we got lucky me and a colleague. The place is on a road side where parking it located a few streets between about 100 feet away. The surrounding had graffiti and loitering which was unpleasant and I would imagine it is worse at night, be careful here! Inside, a wonderful aroma excites you as you enter the restaurant. Booths all around and hard uncomfortable seats. A lot of people came here today on Sunday afternoon. Customer service was excellent, the guy at the front was very chill, polite and acted as if I was his homie, buddy or good friend. This is what I like. I ordered the birria of course, a meat drenched in a bunch of flavors for days to keep the meat juicy, tender and moist. The variations ordered were three tacos plate with birria, onions cilantro and a consome that was massive. This meal was $17. The other order was a four piece birria quesadilla that was absolutely delightful, succulent and had a delicious hunger craving aroma and flavor that any starving or hungry person would die for! This plate was $14. The tacos did come with beans and rice. Between the two dishes the birria quesadilla was my favorite however, the tacos tasted better. The tortilla of the tacos was fresh and made with love. The value was regular, something I expected compared to taco trucks and side vendors of Mexican food. This place is extraordinary. I felt guilty after consumption because it was fatty, juicy and everything you would want in a pleasurable meal, but it was heavy on the calories and filling. It was a messy meal, I added salsas, more seasoning from the condiments bar. There were so many different sauces and fillings like lemon etc. to balance the flavors of the birria. The console incuded was an added kick that I loved. Definitely one of the best if not the best birria I ever had and I highly recommend this place if you like Mexican cuisine at its finest. An absolute hidden treasure that you need to try! I'll come back after a month of consistent cardio and strength training to burn enough fat and make room for another appetite that soothes my brain cells.

The meat was tender and tasted like it was slow cooked. The tortilla is not anything special, but all the fillings (rice, beans) were good. There is larger rice than beans ratio, but they give plenty of meat protein. I have been here several times in the past. I remember totally ratchet seating areas, where there were large holes in the floor. There seems to be some updates and the seating area is cleaned up (but I've only done takeout).
