Cabo's is a pleasant Mexican restaurant with wonderful service. The waitress who served my group did an awesome job even though we were a large group. The chips and salsa kept coming while we waited on our food. The chips started off delicious but next batch tasted stale, which was odd. I ordered the Nachos Fajitas (steak) that was a whopping $17. The portion size was huge but the flavor fell short. The steak was bland and missed the classic fajita flavoring. I'm not sure what went wrong here but I would skip on this next time. The food is decent and the service is friendly. Definitely a go to place if you need your Mexican food fix. We often order to go and their salsa is fantastic. However... one of the managers insist on charging close to $13 for chips and salsa to go. That's just ridiculously absurd. It's just chips and salsa. A night this particular manager isn't there, the chips are free with the salsa. Kind of weird if you ask me. We had a super fun time at their music bingo on a Tuesday evening a few weeks ago. We love their chicken tortilla soup so we get it when we're sick often but we had not been in the restaurant since they remodeled and I will say it's much more inviting and they seem to be able to accommodate more people and get your served faster and the food we have is always fabulous. Had been a regular for a while and then due to trying to change up what I was regularly eating I had not been back in some time. Again not because of anything bad having to do with the restaurant. I received a notification from Door Dash about Cabo's and looked over the menu again and saw that they had switched it up just a bit. Went because they added a soup that is basically a vegetable soup which I prefer unless a place has broccoli cheddar. They also brought back their chicken wings which I didn't order but remember them being really good in the past. I ordered the soup of course and a veggie burrito that's covered with cheese and with an order of rice Everything was definitely good as it always was in the past minus one time. Now that this is the case I'll definitely go back more often. The only reason I took one star away is that like all other places, the prices seem to have increased. The biggest thing Is that although the soup was a pretty decent size it was still way more expensive than what I think it should be. But virtually every Mexican restaurant that have soups are very expensive even though they normally serve them in big bowls with only a couple of exceptions. They range around $13.00 or so. Which again I think is crazy expensive for soup. The server was super nice and the guy who brought out my dinner which by the way came super fast was even more jovial. The manager was one who I remembered. The only weird thing is when I pulled into the lot, it looked closed and there were like no other cars around. It was a Sunday around 4:00 and their open side isn't all that bright to be seen until it gets dark. I called to make sure they were open. I remember this place always being real busy so thought this was strange and hope business hasn't fallen off to make them think of closing up. It was early but not that early. We went to this restaurant on Mother's Day- we called out to see if anyone was there- finally a lady came out and seated us. We were the only ones in the restaurant- that should have been our first clue. No one else came into the restaurant the whole time we were there. Our waitress was very nice - but every time she came to check on us she had more stuff in her shirt. By the time we left she was a hot mess. The food was good. It came out hot and in a timely manner. On a recent (but short) trip to Georgia, my wife and I had the pleasure of taking my brother and his lovely wife to Cabo's for a 'thank-you' dinner on 26 June...and we were really pleased that they picked this venue so close to their home in Buford. We were seated immediately and were waited on by Juan, a young man who had a sense of humor AND a lot of patience with us...and took care of us very well the entire evening. We all started out with drinks (a pitcher of margaritas for all!), and my wife ordered a sweet pork 'super burrito' and I had my go-to standard...pork carnitas with double beans/no rice. The salsa and chips were de-lish and we were VERY ready for dinner when the entrees came out. My wife ate about 1/3 of her mega-burrito (it really was THAT big), and I enjoyed my Carnitas...but was getting full pretty quickly. I really liked the slices of sauteed onion in the Carnitas and the flour tortillas accompanying the dinner were very good as well. However, the Carnitas did dry out quite quickly as the evening wore on...and made them a bit of a chore to finish off. Nevertheless, it was a very pleasant dining experience, and the staff, kitchen, and Juan all did a very nice job taking care of us during our visit. Four Stars for the good food, drink, and some attentive service by Juan. Just get those Carnitas a little less dry and we'll be back again on our next trip to Georgia! read more

Not sure who the manager is here, but they do an amazing job at training. Place was packed on a Friday, but the servers didn't seem overwhelmed or flustered. Juan was great, personable, and attentielve. We just moved to Buford from Sugar Hill, so we know many of the local spots and this was one of the best. Service amazing. They all work together. Everyone was well connected and knew when the food was taking a little longer than usual. Victor was awesome as well. Very aware, energetic, and made sure the food came out great. The food: some of the best I've had on the north side. I got the Whole Snapper(under 20 bucks, which is a great deal) . My wife got the quesatacos with chicken. Definitely the best we have had. Better than Bravos. My daughter got the burrito and rice. All very good. Margaritas were made well and appropriately priced. This will be one of our new spots for sure. Highly recommend. We haven't been here in a year or two because the prices were going up... but the cooking was going down. We decided to try again. Went for early dinner on Sunday. I was pleased to see the inside renovated. Much more open and inviting. Our waiter was attentive but not overly so. The food was great! I just had a grilled chicken salad- all ingredients were fresh (lettuce, tomato, avocado slices, bell pepper). The chicken was seasoned just right. My husband enjoyed his as well. Portion size is really small, not sure I even got 1 full piece of chicken. Plus, seemed really chopped up, not a lot of "chunks" or strips you normally see when ordering fajitas. Moved to area recently and am in dying need for a new Tex/Mexican go to spot. I came in and was very hopeful due to the atmosphere and vibes it presented. I daydreamed about getting wasted here with their margarita flight but was quickly awoken when I had a taste of their chile relleno special. A chile relleno is a stuffed bell pepper right? What I got was a small square piece of bell pepper covered in a bunch of cheese and some meat. Instant stomach ache. When the plate came out it looked worse than prisoner's lunch, a slap of refried beans and glop of a cheese concoction (chille relleno). I really wanted to like this place so I ordered the steak tacos to try to salvage my lunch. Right away I noticed the steak was not cut against the grain so it was probably going to be the toughest steak tacos I'll eat. It ended up not being too tough but could be more tender. The flavor was good but the dish came with no taco toppings, just the option of Mex rice or beans. Service was good, not too much interaction so take it with a grain of salt. I got very dirty utensils but ish happens all the time anywhere so not docking those points. I really wanted this to be my new Tex/mex spot but my search continues. Man that cheese concoction is killing my stomach I might not be able to grind through these steak tacos. Maybe a flight of margaritas can save the day. read more

A friend of mine takes his mother for dinner at least once a month and he has always bragged about this restaurant. I brought my family here and we enjoyed our dinner. The food was above average for Mexican cuisine. Service was a bit slow because they were very busy. I would recommend this place but will probably not visit again because it is pretty far from my residence and we usually don't have a reason to be in this area. I ordered from here on uber eats. Original delivery time kept getting longer and longer until it was over 30 minutes after the original time. It finally arrived, the driver was fine but the food was not so fine. I ordered a custom combo- 1 chicken taco and 1 chimichanga. I asked for any cheeses and sauces to be on the side, important because I can't eat certain sauces or queso fresco or some cheeses. I also ordered an orange juice. When I finally got the food, it was cold, covered in queso fresco and cheese; and what looked to be a possible sauce on the chicken on the taco. I'm going to do what I can to eat around the cheese and hope it doesn't make me sick, because it's too late to get other food or call the restaurant. The orange juice tasted questionably rotten/bad or at least not fresh with a trash like taste to it, that's the best way I can describe it. I'm happy they went through with the order which is better than another restaurant I tried to order from, but with the time, price, and what I got- I would not recommend this place. read more

It seems like every neighborhood has their "go to" Mexican restaurant. Cabo's is the one in my Daughter's area. On Sunday they have a buffet. It's not great but it's pretty good and, as with any buffet, it's quick for an after church meal. My mom and I ordered chicken fajitas for 2 and a side of cheese dip, all to-go. We got a huge container with sautéed onions, assorted peppers, and chicken. It was probably 1.5 to 2 lbs of everything combined. Everything tastes very fresh and we each got generous sides of rice, refried beans, sour cream, guac, and lettuce/tomatoes. The only thing that wasn't included with it was shredded cheese, which was odd, but it wasn't the end of the world because we had ordered queso. The queso tasted fabulous, albeit was a bit runny and too thin. But I'd rather have great tasting queso that's too thin than shitty queso, so it really didn't bother me. I'm glad we ordered from here and we will likely be ordering again. read more
