I was out of town when my wife's vehicle broke down and she ended up getting towed to AAMCO. I was skeptical because I had heard some negative things about AAMCO in the past. That completely changed after I spoke with Kyle, one of the new managers at this location. Right away, he made me feel like the vehicle was in good hands. He was knowledgeable, honest, and took the time to explain everything. I had never needed a transmission replaced before and really didn't know much about the process, but Kyle walked me through exactly what was wrong, what needed to be done, and why. Nobody wants to spend money on vehicle repairs, especially something as expensive as a transmission. But Kyle and the rest of the staff made a stressful situation much easier. They treated us like family and treated the vehicle like it was their own. Repair shops sometimes get a bad reputation for taking advantage of people, but I never felt that way here. Kyle gave me a clear breakdown of everything, kept me updated, and delivered exactly what he said he would. He's also a very funny guy, which definitely helped lighten the mood during a situation that wasn't much fun to deal with. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, and the vehicle has honestly never run better. My last review was due to the previous owner and manager who were not servicing their customers honestly, now I have to update to my review, this place is now under new management, the new owner is Nolan, just took over the store, I can tell you he is very impressive in knowledge and honesty, just took my S430 and he was too honest not to work on the car and he referred me to one who can, even after I asked to try to do the work himself but he said "I can't guarantee the results so I will refer you to some one who can" This is very unique in this business so I am highly recommending this store thank you Nolan for your service and honesty. Horrible experience! I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. 0/10 Rating. Not only did I have a bad experience but I had 8 other people share horror stories with me about this specific AAMCO during the time of my vehicle being on the lot. All stories of vehicles in the shop for extremely long time periods, thousands of dollars that were underquoted, misdiagnoses and faulty work. I brought my 2018 Ford Transit in for the rear-end / differential and was charged $900 for a diagnoses Plus 4K for new parts. I was quoted a price with a 3 day turnaround time. My van is a class B Rv and is my full time residence for summer. AAMCO had the van for a total of 11 days, not 3. They claimed the parts that came in were the wrong parts and they kept stringing the process out longer and longer. Horrible communication. I also overheard Ben tell multiple customers the same run around story about wrong parts over the course of the week and a half I was around. The final straw was that they told me my coolant expansion tank reservoir and lower coolant hoses needed replaced with a quote of $600. I was so exhausted and fed up with dealing with this shop by the point of this second diagnosis that I decided to bring my van to another mechanic and guess what....No need to replace any of the coolant parts. Rod(Rodney) is the issue here. Poor communication from the start. Came in for a serpentine belt and a/c diagnostic. Had an appointment. Quotes me a minimum of 5hrs for the work. Which is already crazy. Ends up giving me a call at 4pm to tell me the ac compressor wire harness is ripped out and I'll need a new compressor. Quotes me 1200 for a new compressor and install which did fix the car. Problem is the wire harness was perfectly repairable as seen below. Dave took good care of my 20 year old SUV, unfortunately it lived in Illinois and Ohio for 18 years and everything underneath was turning to dust. He was honest and said he would break more things trying to fix it because structurally the frame was ruined. And took pictures to show me. Brakes were out, I had to tow it in and couldn't drive it out. He was gracious to let me keep it there for a couple days until I could sell it and have it hauled away. You know I thought these people were Shady from the beginning, three years ago, when I took Red 31 ford, with a 350 Chevy transmission to them. Always though they use the wrong Parts in it! Cars Transmission never worked well. But after haggling with them for over three months and them damaging my gas tank THEY were just too much to bear. They took me. I paid the $3,000 and left. I had liver cancer and a liver transplant (plus another llness at time that was going on) Put maybe 2 3/4 or 3 thousand miles on it since. It just cost yourself 2400 bucks. My mechanic of 3 years is awesome.. he told me it had the wrong size and bushing inside. Ive kept all the parts trying to decide what I will do. But in the interim DONT walk into this place dont call them.. BUT Run away from this business , as fast as you can.. Its so sad such evil people are allowed to be in this world. read more
