The coffeeshop feels hidden as this Hippies Brew location is off an exit from Highway 92. Is the coffee and food still as tasty as I remembered? Yes. The names of the espresso drinks have an urban feel yet their drinks are not overly sweet. Unlike most coffeehouses there are not a lot of food items - as only three breakfast items are served. Yet I would counter the food at Hippies Brew is better than those places as the three items served here are hot. The McLovin Muffin is a small, hearty breakfast sandwich to start in the morning. If you want a filling breakfast I suggest the Freakin French Toast with egg and ham. Coffeeshops should have their own signature coffee. Most of the time I at Hippies Brew I would order a variation of white mocha like White Iverson or Yonce. However the Rick Ross with the cinnamon makes the drink taste like hot chocolate. After a couple of visits to this location I can see myself coming to Hippies Brew again.

There wasn't a wait for food or a table. It was actually pretty empty. Such a homey vibe and the chefs/cooks were super friendly and attentive. They cooked our food outside on a grill vs a traditional kitchen. The prices are pretty good for all the food you get. They stack your plate! We really enjoyed all the food (chilaquiles rojos and the verdes with meat, and three quesabirrias). We couldn't finish it all! You can tell it's all homemade, which is nice. A lot of places don't make their chilaquiles sauce from scratch. We'd definitely return. The only thing I'd pass on is the Vietnamese coffee. Maybe it was our fault for ordering this at a Mexican spot, but it tasted more like cold brew than Vietnamese coffee.

The quesabirrias were well made and stuffed, no skimping! My sister got the chilaquiles verdes and she said they were a good amount of spice for her. I got my nieces huevos con jamón and they loved it, if you have littles, make sure you cut the ham. It's cut vertically and they were big strips. I also liked that they had fruit bowls. The drinks are poured into these amazing cups. They're beautiful! The mocha wasn't my favorite but the food was the highlight, so I'm not too upset. The service was quick, fast and the people friendly. Overall, I'd take my dad there.

Chicken was moist and flavorful, very tender and the rice was good too. Generous helping of ginger garlic sauce. Tried the club sandwich for the first time. Crusts are cut off and bread is thin. Interesting take with tuna, ham, egg and tomato inside. Comes with fries which are always tasty Curry was a decent amount of heat. Pork chops were very juicy and tender. There was no wait to get seated, and we appreciated how most of the seating was spread out. It was a bit warm inside so if you're sensitive to heat, I would dress lighter. Servers will not come by your table unless you flag them over so make it obvious if you're ready to order. We ordered the string beans and beef, the famous baked pork chop with a little mild cheese and sweet tomato sauce over white rice, the salt and pepper chicken wings, popcorn chicken and the crispy Hong Kong style noodles with stewed beef and tomato. If we could have had more space in our tummies, we would have go the Haianese Chicken because we saw it served on other tables around us and it looked delicious. ALL the food was comforting and good. The cool surprise was the drink that comes with the pork chop dish, there were several to pick from but I picked the cold honey lemon tea and found it wonderful and highly recommend this. My cousin and I were having a lengthy conversation lasting almost 3 hours, and maybe because it was a slower week night they never pushed us to pay the bill while we were chatting, so we really appreciated they valued our uninterrupted time together.

Workers are always friendly, even when it's busy, and I've never had a bad experience. I love their Toffee Coffee, especially iced since it comes with toffee bits. Definitely on the sweeter side, recommend if you're more into sweet drinks and being up on sugar instead of caffeine (however they do have more caffeine forward options). Ambience is nice, tall open windows so there's a lot of light that comes in and there's always music playing. Not a lot of tables for big parties, but they also offer some couches with tables in the back. Cheese Bacon Crepe w/ Pasta: 9.5/10, delicious, my go-to. super filling, also has chicken & mushrooms. Pasta is not the most flavorful, but definitely does its job as just the side dish and I always end up finishing it anyway. Toffee Coffee: 11/10. One of my favorite coffees that I definitely treat as more of a sweet treat. The toffee bits in the iced toffee coffee are my favorite. I always crave to get this when driving on Hesperian.
