Decent Vietnamese coffee shop in a quiet part of the shopping center. Tram Cream Coffee, just blocks away from the highway and bridge entrance, hosts their unique blends and cream top coffees from a small storefront on the corner of a bustling area for errands, shopping, and eating. Open early everyday and closing after normal business hours for most workers, this is a perfect spot to grab a caffeine fix before, during or after work. The convenient location is unmatched! We came in for a few afternoon drinks with me getting the classic in the new age Vietnamese coffee shops, egg coffee. I opted to skip the ice as I'm not a huge fan of cold drinks and would prefer more room temperature to appreciate the taste and textures. This led to some unexpected consequences: without the ice, the drink was just barely a third of the plastic cup it came in. So in reality, each one of your iced drinks is 2/3 ice which means you're paying a whole lot for ice. When I got home, I did end up adding a bit of ice and water to get the full taste and it was delicious and strong in flavor, otherwise it was too concentrated to realistically enjoy. Overall, my experience with Tram Cream Coffee was a bit mixed and I look forward to returning to give them another good shake now that the ice to drink ratio is clear. Albeit, this area is starting to spring up a few top notch Vietnamese coffee shops and competition is ramping up! If you happen to need an early caffeine fix, this is probably one of the few places that are open during that time in this area. Come give them a try, but after finishing up your drink, the remainder of your cup of frozen chunks will have you humming "ice, ice baby".

Tram Cream Coffee was originally not on my top faves or list in general prior but since then, I came back on many occasions because my family members loves their coffees, I am glad to have tried it, again. Prior, I didn't notify the staff because I honestly didn't want anyone to spit in my drink due to a negative review. But since I have made many trips here and I can honestly say that the drinks are very good and so are the macarons. The staff is very kind and polite, service is always consistent. Glad to have gave it another try!

Lots of ice despite getting light ice. Husband finished in 2 sips.

Been wanting to try Tram Cream Coffee so I was excited. I ordered online and already had some hiccups. I selected $1 tip but it kept auto adjusting and ended up tipping 15% on the actual checkout page despite me adjusting multiple times. Not a huge deal but wouldn't make me inclined to order online on NovaTab. I got the Vietnamese White Coffee and it was pretty good. It was quite sweet but meant to drink slowly as the ice melts I assume. My husband got the Saigon Coffee and not even joking, he finished it in 2 sips. There wasn't even a chance to let the ice melt and to sip slowly as there was barely any liquid. I ordered it with light ice yet you can see it's filled with ice and there's even a gap so the drink isn't filled all the way. Overall, this spot has so much potential but not a good first experience. Given there's a lot of great local coffee shops, I won't be returning. Seems like other people have had similar experiences regarding the ice and not filled drinks so hopefully they take the feedback into consideration given their drink costs aren't cheap.

Their Tiramisu Cream Latte is really good, service was also pretty fast and the atmosphere was very nice and quiet, perfect place to study!

Strawberry matcha, coconut coffee, lychee tea

First timer. Ordered a strawberry matcha, lychee tea, coconut coffee, and popcorn chicken. Strawberry matcha: 5/5. Nice amount of strawberry and matcha flavor! Lychee tea: 5/5. Got 0% sugar and was good enough for me. The lychee always makes it sweet already, that's why I always get 0%. Great flavor! Coconut coffee: 5/5. Got 50% sugar, could've went a bit sweeter but overall great drink. Good coconut and coffee flavor. Popcorn chicken: 5/5. Great flavor, came with a sweet chili dipping sauce. No garlic or basil pieces. Plenty of seating and tables. Music is 90s R&B. Would recommend a cooler temperature indoors, was a bit too warm for my liking.

Was looking for a place with vietnamese coffee and saw that this place only had a 3.5 star and was curious as to why it was so low especially with how yummy the drinks looked. Stopped by here on a whim while it was pouring rain, so the store was completely empty. I love the how simple and cute the interior is and it was super clean too. There is tons of seating, so I would totally come here to study (they also provide wifi, which is super nice!). Since it was my first time in, my partner and I took a while to decide what we wanted. The cashier was super sweet and talked us through the differences of all the coffees. She even let us try a little bit of the cream to help us make a decision. We ended up getting a large VIP $8.99 (there was only one size of this) and a small cream coffee $6.75, both of them have a generous layer of cream and a small spoonful of coffee jelly inside. Admittedly, the prices are a lot steeper than I expected because $8.99 for a vietnamese coffee is just insane! While the cream is extremely tasty, I don't think it's completely necessary that it takes up nearly half of the cup.. especially since I took a small sip out of the VIP and I felt like I nearly drank the entire cup in one go. The cream ontop of the VIP was nice and thick and had almost a creme brulee taste. The coffee is pretty strong too. I hate when a vietnamese coffee has a gross burnt flavor, but I liked the brew that they use. The cashier told us to let the ice melt and to mix in the topping to give the drink more sweetness. We definitely had to take this advice lol. After letting it sit out for a little bit, the flavor was perfect. Definitely a treat yourself kind of place just because of how expensive it is, but I enjoyed it! I would totally return.

Tram offers a variety of iced coffee and boba with the essence of that strong Vietnamese coffee. Coffee so strong it will definitely jolt you. If you need a drink that'll wake you up - I strongly recommend "the VIP" (which only comes in a large size) and includes a coconut jelly. Really good.

Came around lunch time. Staff was friendly and it was pretty easy to order. The vibe in the shop is vibin. Lol they play music pretty loud sometimes so it may not be a great spot to work if you have calls to make. But otherwise the space it good for work. I always get the egg coffee less sweet and it's always pretty consistent. My friends and I like to come here for coffee dates.

There's a new coffee spot I just had to check out! I saw them promoting it on Instagram. As a big fan of egg coffees, I was really excited to try it. I ordered their egg coffee to compare it with Phin's coffee. I noticed they filled the whole cup with ice, and I ordered a small! The coffee was strong, which I liked a lot, but I didn't feel it was worth paying for so much ice. My husband ordered their Jasmine longan tea, choosing a large size with light ice. The cup was really big, and they filled the entire cup with ice again, even though he asked for light ice in his order. The drink turned out to be a bit diluted. Overall, a bit disappointed with both drinks. There's a new coffee spot I just had to check out! I saw them promoting it on Instagram. As a big fan of egg coffees, I was really excited to try it. Tiramisu Cream Latte
    Rini C.

I ordered the Tiramisu Cream Latte, less sweet, add honey boba. My drink came out in around 3 minutes which was pretty quick. It definitely tasted like tiramisu, and it's a very decadent drink, perhaps an occasional order. The Vietnamese coffee was strong and bitter but a pleasant type of bitter, not burnt. The cream was fluffy and lightly sweet with the cocoa. I think this drink would've been better without the toppings because you want to sip the drink from the cup to get the taste of cream and coffee at once. Otherwise, using a straw, you would just drink straight coffee and boba and not get the balanced sweetness from the cream. The amount of ice and boba felt proportionate to the drink. The boba was soft chewy and slowly firmed up to chewy over the next hour. The total was $7.70 for this 16 oz drink. As someone who likes 25% sweetness in drinks, this was definitely more coffee forward and more on the bitter side, but I still enjoyed it. It was around 10am on Saturday and it wasn't really busy at this time. The staff was friendly and greeted me as I walked in. You can order at the one kiosk near the counter. The interior is very light and minimalistic with quite a few light wooden tables and plants. There is also a restroom and a waiting area on the side. There wasn't any music here, so it's definitely good for working/studying or catching up with friends. I definitely will come back to try their other drinks!

This place had the best grand opening ever! Social media influencers Mimi and Raina came! City council of Newark and San Jose, Lion Dancers and a DJ. The owners went all out! Super fun! Beautiful inside, nice and modern. Great staff, friendly and hard working! Good drink menu with lots of unique drinks. Ordered cream coffee, house special milk tea, and running dragon. All of the drinks were good but the running dragon is amazing perfect fruitiness and creaminess! The size large is huge! Good location with lots of parking. So excited about this place!

Small coconut cream coffee with grass jelly

I've been looking for a coconut cream Vietnamese coffee that I thoroughly enjoy in the east bay and I've found it here at Tram Cream Coffee! This shop is located in a small plaza in Newark and parking is fairly easy. The interior is clean and minimalistic, a perfect spot to study and do work. My favorite to get here is the coconut cream coffee, it's sweet but not overly sweet where you can't taste the coconut and the coffee taste is strong. I've only had one other coconut cream coffee that I enjoyed and that was in SoCal so I'm glad this place has a drink that's almost similar! They also have many other coffee, smoothie, and tea options- but the coconut cream is my favorite. Service is pretty fast here with a self serve kiosk so I haven't had any issues with timing! Although it is a bit pricey, it's a great option for a nice treat.

TLDR: good matcha and coffee, coffee definitely on the strong side; plenty of indoor seating, music can be a little loud; has wifi, restrooms, and small amt of parking 1. Atmosphere Very bright, warm, spacious interior that is well lit due to st-facing windows. Music is relatively loudly/lively. 2. Drinks / Food a. Banafe - 9/10 - banana cream very delicious and authentic! but I think the coffee was a little too strong for me b. Banacha - 10/10! - super well balanced, and again the banana tasted fresh / authentic (not artificial!) c. Saigon Coffee - 8/10, a bit watery and a little too bitter for me d. Ube Coffee - 9/10 - well balanced and delicious! 3. Amenities Plenty of seating, although mostly for smaller groups. Mixture of chairs and bench seating. Outlets along the perimeter. Has WiFi and a restroom. Parking is more limited.

However, the quality and service needs improvement. As soon as my family and I arrived, the cashier lady expected us to be ready to order. There were no other customers in line. I wanted to get the Vietnamese mung bean layered cake aka Bánh Da Lợn, but they only had the Pandan jello aka Thạch Rau Câu Lá Dứa. When I was ready to order, the lady just stood there standing and then said ready now (sounding somewhat annoyed)! I ordered a ham combo sandwich and an avocado smoothie for my kids. I asked if they used a lot of sugar and opted to lessen the sugar amount if possible. She did not offer the sugar percentage and just walked over to start making the avocado smoothie. Then a customer came in and she stopped to greet him, took his order, then finished our avocado smoothie. The avocado smoothie was smooth and creamy but not very enjoyable as it lacked flavor. My kids drank only a few sips and we ended up tossing almost an entire drink even after saying it was like avocado "ice-cream". It was a hot day too. The sandwich took a while to come out considering they had more than four staffs in the back (you could see the kitchen from the front register), but they still moved very slow. Some of them were just chilling and staring at the front of the store. The French bread was fresh and tasty though. They did not add much filling except for carrots and radish. Limited meat, pate sauce, and barely taste the aioli. Sandwich was still good with the classic, traditional Vietnamese sandwich taste but the one in San Jose did not skip on the quantity in ingredients like they did in this location. Our jello ended up have a mold growing so we did not try it. Texture looked solid though. We also bought the pork sausages which were tiny but tasty. Duc Huong for sure wins in all three categories for sandwiches, pork sausage, and having the Pandan layered cake I liked. Overall, this was still a decent place to get Vietnamese sandwiches. Going in with less expectations would make the experience better. They had a large table seating so customers could eat inside or order meals like a normal restaurant.

I also tend to give restaurants multiple chances before leaving a negative review because I understand that every place can have an off day. Unfortunately, I've now seen enough of a pattern that I'm done. Today I ordered the Combination Cơm Tấm and was utterly disappointed by the drop in quality. The bì (shredded pork skin) smelled sour and was completely mushy, despite the meal having just been purchased. It genuinely seemed spoiled, and I couldn't bring myself to eat it. The pork chop was bland and overly fatty, the fish sauce was nothing special, and the bánh mì was extremely disappointing as well. This wasn't an isolated issue either. On another visit, I found a hair in my food. And on some evenings, a staff member would clean the floors with such a strong bleach-smelling cleaner while customers were still eating that the chemical smell completely took over the dining area. Trying to enjoy a meal while your nose is full of cleanser is not exactly appetizing. I don't write a bad review because of one mediocre dish. I give places multiple tries because I want to be fair. But when the unpleasant experiences keep repeating, eventually it stops feeling like bad luck and starts looking like a quality-control problem. The sour-smelling, mushy bì today was the final straw. I can forgive average food. I'm not gambling with spoiled pork skin. Nope, nope. I'm done.

Pho VN is located in one of Union City's popular Asian cross street malls, sharing a large parking lot with other outstanding eateries. The space inside the restaurant is large and can comfortably fit small and large parties alike. Reminiscent of the classic Vietnamese restaurants in this area, you'll find each table stocked with utensils, napkins, and sauces and staff scurrying around with bowls or trays of them toward their hungry patrons. As we walked in, we were motioned to sit at any of the open tables; the staff greeted us with menus and got us started with waters. Their menu is comprehensive and includes all your Vietnamese staples including popular appetizers like spring/egg rolls, noodle dishes like pho and vermicelli, rice plates, and delicious iced drinks featuring the traditional phin filtered Vietnamese coffee. For the pho bowls, you'll have the option of a medium or large portion with the primary difference being the amount of noodles you'll get and a slightly smaller protein portion. I ended up getting a large and it was plenty filling but the medium seemed reasonable as well. With each bowl, you'll get a platter of bean sprouts and basil leaves to spruce up your meal. Highly recommend dumping those in right when you get the steaming hot bowl! I also ended up getting an ice coffee - the flavor was strong and balanced out as the ice melted. It was a delicious indulgence! When it came time to pay, we did so up front at the register. They are cash only but I believe cash apps are also accepted. The staff were quick, friendly, and thorough in their service. You'll have a pleasant time here with your party and minimal interruptions from the staff unless you're looking to refill on waters. Overall, Pho VN checks all the boxes for when you're craving a hot bowl of pho and meaty pieces to go with those bites. I haven't had a chance to try their other dishes yet but this location is conveniently located, easy to get to and park, and accessible to other activities and eateries nearby making it very likely I'll be back soon!
