History and Ambiance This place replaced another boba shop that was here before and they opened it up a lot by the way they constructed the seating area, it is much more spacious and looks a lot larger. They have little pillows on hard seated areas so that's nice. Great space to co-work, meet with friends. We stayed a lot time so that was nice since I watching up with an old friend I hadn't seen for years, we should have bought more food! Decent Vietnamese coffee shop in a quiet part of the shopping center. Tram Cream Coffee, just blocks away from the highway and bridge entrance, hosts their unique blends and cream top coffees from a small storefront on the corner of a bustling area for errands, shopping, and eating. Open early everyday and closing after normal business hours for most workers, this is a perfect spot to grab a caffeine fix before, during or after work. The convenient location is unmatched! We came in for a few afternoon drinks with me getting the classic in the new age Vietnamese coffee shops, egg coffee. I opted to skip the ice as I'm not a huge fan of cold drinks and would prefer more room temperature to appreciate the taste and textures. This led to some unexpected consequences: without the ice, the drink was just barely a third of the plastic cup it came in. So in reality, each one of your iced drinks is 2/3 ice which means you're paying a whole lot for ice. When I got home, I did end up adding a bit of ice and water to get the full taste and it was delicious and strong in flavor, otherwise it was too concentrated to realistically enjoy. Overall, my experience with Tram Cream Coffee was a bit mixed and I look forward to returning to give them another good shake now that the ice to drink ratio is clear. Albeit, this area is starting to spring up a few top notch Vietnamese coffee shops and competition is ramping up! If you happen to need an early caffeine fix, this is probably one of the few places that are open during that time in this area. Been wanting to try Tram Cream Coffee so I was excited. I ordered online and already had some hiccups. I selected $1 tip but it kept auto adjusting and ended up tipping 15% on the actual checkout page despite me adjusting multiple times. Not a huge deal but wouldn't make me inclined to order online on NovaTab. I got the Vietnamese White Coffee and it was pretty good. It was quite sweet but meant to drink slowly as the ice melts I assume. My husband got the Saigon Coffee and not even joking, he finished it in 2 sips. There wasn't even a chance to let the ice melt and to sip slowly as there was barely any liquid. I ordered it with light ice yet you can see it's filled with ice and there's even a gap so the drink isn't filled all the way. Overall, this spot has so much potential but not a good first experience. Given there's a lot of great local coffee shops, I won't be returning. Seems like other people have had similar experiences regarding the ice and not filled drinks so hopefully they take the feedback into consideration given their drink costs aren't cheap. read more

Was looking for a place with vietnamese coffee and saw that this place only had a 3.5 star and was curious as to why it was so low especially with how yummy the drinks looked. Stopped by here on a whim while it was pouring rain, so the store was completely empty. I love the how simple and cute the interior is and it was super clean too. There is tons of seating, so I would totally come here to study (they also provide wifi, which is super nice!). Since it was my first time in, my partner and I took a while to decide what we wanted. The cashier was super sweet and talked us through the differences of all the coffees. She even let us try a little bit of the cream to help us make a decision. We ended up getting a large VIP $8.99 (there was only one size of this) and a small cream coffee $6.75, both of them have a generous layer of cream and a small spoonful of coffee jelly inside. Admittedly, the prices are a lot steeper than I expected because $8.99 for a vietnamese coffee is just insane! While the cream is extremely tasty, I don't think it's completely necessary that it takes up nearly half of the cup.. especially since I took a small sip out of the VIP and I felt like I nearly drank the entire cup in one go. The cream ontop of the VIP was nice and thick and had almost a creme brulee taste. The coffee is pretty strong too. I hate when a vietnamese coffee has a gross burnt flavor, but I liked the brew that they use. The cashier told us to let the ice melt and to mix in the topping to give the drink more sweetness. We definitely had to take this advice lol. After letting it sit out for a little bit, the flavor was perfect. Came by here as part of my goal of trying every Vietnamese coffee in the bay. Looking through reviews, Tram Cream seems to be quite polarizing--my experience here was probably about as average as it could get. Ordering was via a kiosk and I was pleasantly surprised when my drink. And out within 2 minutes of ordering. The drink was served in a boba cup (heat sealed) which made it both easier and somehow harder to mix (harder to stir the bottom without disrupting the lid and making a mess). There was a solid chunk of what I think was egg pudding on top, but once the egg foam mixed in with the coffee, the flavors balanced each other out well. I may not go out of my way to get tram coffee, but I will likely come back given it's convenient location and otherwise decent cup of Vietnamese coffee read more

Disappointed in the fact they are not allowed to create a hot Matcha latte for their customers I was told by the caisher taking my order. It slipped my mind to ask for very light ice because they gave me more ice than the "Double Matcha" product I asked for. It's ok. I will ask for Oatmilk next time with maybe no ice "Double Matcha" instead. I ordered the Tiramisu Cream Latte, less sweet, add honey boba. My drink came out in around 3 minutes which was pretty quick. It definitely tasted like tiramisu, and it's a very decadent drink, perhaps an occasional order. The Vietnamese coffee was strong and bitter but a pleasant type of bitter, not burnt. The cream was fluffy and lightly sweet with the cocoa. I think this drink would've been better without the toppings because you want to sip the drink from the cup to get the taste of cream and coffee at once. Otherwise, using a straw, you would just drink straight coffee and boba and not get the balanced sweetness from the cream. The amount of ice and boba felt proportionate to the drink. The boba was soft chewy and slowly firmed up to chewy over the next hour. The total was $7.70 for this 16 oz drink. As someone who likes 25% sweetness in drinks, this was definitely more coffee forward and more on the bitter side, but I still enjoyed it. It was around 10am on Saturday and it wasn't really busy at this time. The staff was friendly and greeted me as I walked in. You can order at the one kiosk near the counter. The interior is very light and minimalistic with quite a few light wooden tables and plants. There is also a restroom and a waiting area on the side. There wasn't any music here, so it's definitely good for working/studying or catching up with friends. I definitely will come back to try their other drinks! read more

I've been looking for a coconut cream Vietnamese coffee that I thoroughly enjoy in the east bay and I've found it here at Tram Cream Coffee! This shop is located in a small plaza in Newark and parking is fairly easy. The interior is clean and minimalistic, a perfect spot to study and do work. My favorite to get here is the coconut cream coffee, it's sweet but not overly sweet where you can't taste the coconut and the coffee taste is strong. I've only had one other coconut cream coffee that I enjoyed and that was in SoCal so I'm glad this place has a drink that's almost similar! They also have many other coffee, smoothie, and tea options- but the coconut cream is my favorite. Service is pretty fast here with a self serve kiosk so I haven't had any issues with timing! Husband and I stopped by this location after seeing one of our relatives visit another one of their location. This cafe is spacious with a lot of seating, great for socializing and even studying. I found that the noise level was not too loud. The decor is very clean and aesthetic. You order through a machine and our order came out super quick. There's not a lot of interaction with the staff at all, which can be good or bad depending on what type of person you are. We tried the: sesame cream coffee and the ube cream coffee. I found both to be delicious, but slightly preferred the use one because it was a little bit sweeter. I can see where the complaints are coming from with the drink being one size and having it be full of ice. However, I did find that I enjoyed the drink a little bit more when some of the ice melted because quite frankly it was STRONG - for me anyways. Came here after Howl-o-ween at the dog park. Needed to inject some coffee into the system. Wife got the Sesame Cream Coffee and I opted for the Tiramisu+ extra shot.. Both are excellent! My wife usually doesn't opt for sesame but something drew her to get it and she loves it! The Tiramisu is like a cake in liquid form. I couldn't drink it all the time though. I've been to Tram Cream Coffee Station #5 here in Newark twice now since it is close to where I live. While it is great to have a Vietnamese coffee shop in the area, this place really needs to work on the consistency of the drinks they are making. I've been here twice, both times happen to be when they were having a bogo promotion for the Creamy Ha Noi Coffee drinks. The first time was great, the drinks were tasty and the coffees were strong. However, I went again today for the second time, and this visit was a disappointment! Unlike the first time, this time they did not fill the drinks all the way, and this time they used different cups and sealed the drinks. You can see in the pictures, the drinks are not filled to the top, like they were the first time. Keep in mind, I ordered the same drinks as last time, didn't change anything. This time, I also ordered a large Thai Milk Tea, and as you can see from the picture, the whole top portion of the drink is full of ice! Having drank the drink throughout the day, all the ice really dilutes the drink, and the flavor goes away. I did scoop some of the ice out in the beginning, but it's still just too much ice!! They need to stop putting all this ice in their drinks, we shouldn't be paying for a cup of ice!! The customer service the first time was great, the person that helped me was friendly and approachable to questions and concerns, today's recent visit, I didn't get that same vibe from the person who assisted me. The coffee here is very strong! I try so many Viet cafes and this is the first one so far that lived up to my expectations in that regard. I've seen a lot of complaints about the drinks being overly packed with ice. Phin dripped Vietnamese coffee is traditionally made with a lot of ice to offset how strong it is and it's meant to be enjoyed slowly as the ice dilutes the coffee to create a more mellow flavor. If you're expecting a latte that's entirely milk and less ice, cà phê sữa đá is NOT that and was never meant to be that. It's like being shocked something that looks like a dog, barks like a dog, acts like a dog is a dog. Anyway... I ordered Cream Coffee and my friend got the Matcha Latte. My drink came with coffee jelly bits which were so addicting. I tend to avoid drinks with heavy cream/foam when I want something light, but the coffee here is so strong that the coffee cream on top pairs with it perfectly and doesn't taste overly creamy. I was surprised by the spacious and peaceful interior. Perfect ambiance for studying and getting work done. The staff were also so nice and cheerful. Highly recommend, and if you're Vietnamese you'll definitely love it! read more

I have been to Tram multiple times. I have tried the coffee, fruit teas, and the snacks. I love vietnamese coffee and southeastern asian flavors. I had the saigon coffee and the coconut. I prefer the saigon coffee, but to me, it was pretty comparable to vietnamese coffee found at any pho restaurant. I had the jasmine longan fruit tea. The only shop that sells longan in a fruit tea that i know of. I would come back for this drink. The popcorn chicken was crisp and not soggy like other shop's. I would recommend this snack. But what i REALLY love from here? The macaroons. The flavors...excellent. The size...excellent...for its price. Each of the flavors i have chosen from here (thai tea, ube, pandan coconut, birthday cake, blueberry cheesecake, salted caramel, and passion fruit) were great. This would be the place to get these flavors in my opinion! The shop has nice seatings. If i was still in college or needed to work in a cafe, id choose to work here. I love Viet coffees. But I love basic old school ones, dark roast, fine ground with a bit of chicory for an extra bitter nuance, brewed much like an espresso then mixed with condensed milk, then ice. I probably get one 80% of the time I'm having Viet food/a pho outing. I'm just not sure that I'm into dressing one up with all sorts of things ie...chocolate syrup, coconut, whipped flavored creams, ube??!! And this place's concept is all about such over-the-top-ness. But in today's world of image importance and social media hypes, businesses are forced to take such directions. I mean who wants to see a photo of just a regular iced Vietnamese coffee, no matter how perfect it taste. Amirite?! *crooky eyed emoji* Tried them out a little before the holidays. I came almost at opening as I was running errands in the area. Place was super quiet but a few peeps were getting stuff to-go. On my out there was just kiosk ordering, which is common now for many tea/boba shops. Not sure if they do regular human transactions. I tried 2 coffee drinks as to just get a feel for the place. Saigon ($7ish/3.5*) I think this is a basic Viet Iced Coffee, at least that's what the pic looked like in the kiosk. Had to see how well they do the base. It's not bad, but its definitely not any better than when I get it from a pho spot or a banh mi shop. I actually may even like the ones I get from a restaurant more as simplicity and honesty wins out with my palate most times. VIP ($9ish/3*) Now once you go past that basic iced coffee, the price and the amount of extra ingredients will start to shoot up. I think this had chocolate chunks, something thick and creamy, maybe even 2 types one being a custard of some sort. This was not my jam, as you guessed it...way too sweet. But I had to try one as to know for myself. These definitely drinks more like a milkshake than it does an iced coffee. You have draw on the straw quite hard, and if you're thirsty/hungry it is possible to drink this whole cup in 4 good pulls from the straw. This was so sweet to me that I put it in my fridge after 2 sips to let the ice melt, as to dilute the sweetness as well as the thickness. I can see this being popular for young teens, but for me it's a one and done. They also have tea drinks and I may try one of those, possibly even a matcha. The place is clean so I have no problems coming back. It will just be a matter of what I can find here that fits me. This is somewhat in my local vicinity, so I wanna support them. So you're telling me the drinks start melting seconds after it's made? Sounds like BS to me. If you want to get ripped off and pay $7+ for a small coffee drink, then this is the place for you. My boyfriend and I stopped by to grab a coffee before our mini road trip and while the flavors were great. The amount of coffee you get is not worth the $7+ price point. I get it's the Bay Area and there's inflation, but they barely fill the drink to the top, see attached photos. Also, even if you choose the less ice option, they still fill half the cup with ice. Tram Cream Coffee is a great spot for a daily coffee fix! I'm so happy we are getting more coffee shops around this Newark/Fremont area. Cute simple interior with plenty of seating and natural light, perfect for getting work done. Located in a quiet plaza with easy parking, which is always a plus. Their Vietnamese drip coffee is strong and satisfying, but the real stars are the coconut coffee, egg cacao, and green gem. Creamy, unique, and full of flavor. The green gem especially stands out with a texture that reminds me of an avocado smoothie. Not a fan of the matcha latte though; a bit too mild for my taste. Customer service is friendly. I've already been back three times since their soft opening and can't wait to try more, especially once the snack menu drops! read more

Came here early July and was lucky enough to run into their soft opening BOGO deal. Otherwise, their drinks are $8+ for the large. I did not like Green Gems, the entire drink was really thick and honestly the texture was so creamy and foamy that it felt gross to me. I enjoyed VIP more, the coffee jelly was cute sized and fun to eat. The foam is more proportional to liquid and tasted like your average egg coffee except it also has some coffee foam. read more

07/01/25, Soft Opening Day! After visiting the Tram Cream Coffee location in Hayward for a few weeks now, I was excited that this new Newark branch was setting up in the space formerly occupied by Hay Tea and Who's Tea before that. Oddly enough, even though this shop opened later than Hayward, it is labeled as #5, whereas Hayward is #6. Apparently, according to the manager and part owner, there was a slight hiccup in the construction process due to the previous tenant, which caused a minor delay, but I am glad they are finally here now! The storefront is highly visible from Newark Blvd., with plenty of parking. The corner setting also provides ample natural sunlight, and a more wide open feel, which complements the light colored wooden decor. The spacious interior makes for the ideal spot to hang out with the homies or to fit in a quick laptop camping session. The neighborhood is also a lot more peaceful than downtown Hayward, so you won't be hearing the cars that go boom or random people shouting outside. In addition, it is much more comfortable than the cramped Phin's, a competing Vietnamese coffee shop in Fremont, at which I am rarely ever able to secure a seat. Ownership and staff here at Tram #5 are super friendly, and truly appreciative of the patronage! Oh, and the drinks of course are stellar, as expected! Since I pretty much reside smackdab in between the Tram #5 and #6 locations, I have options on which direction I want to head. However, due to the convenience in parking, area safety, kind staff, and overall comfort, I can definitely picture Newark being my go-to spot. read more

This new Vietnamese coffee spot is situated where Hay Tea used to be and is brand spanking new with sparkling, spacious interiors. I haven't been to a cleaner looking cafe! It's their soft opening so no food items were available, only drinks. They have all the specialty coffees you might be expecting (egg, cream, coconut, etc), a series of fruit teas, and two matcha-flavored items. I got the matcha latte, which is made with oat milk and also has condensed milk (stir well before drinking). I liked the strong matcha flavor and it came out quickly after I ordered on their kiosk. There are lots of tables inside next to outlets so I was able to get some work done without being distracted by crowds or worrying about staying too long. They have free WiFi and an awesome playlist (a lot of oldies but goodies). I can imagine this place getting really busy eventually as word spreads and they expand their menu, but for now, it's on my list of top places to frequent cafe-wise. read more

their matcha was really yummy! i recommend the matcha lattes and such i wouldn't really reach for the matcha freeze to be honest, but it was still okay. the matcha lattes tho (i got the double matcha) was sooo good. this place is great to study or even work on projects, outlets around not overly crowded as well, stayed long enough and ended up trying a coffee drink, their big bear is a coffee and hojicha drink very yummy! read more

Stopped by early around 7am and had a great experience. The vibe is cozy and homey, and it was nice and quiet at that hour--perfect for a calm morning coffee. I ordered the cream coffee and it was amazing, especially with the jellies inside--it added a really nice texture and sweetness. I also tried my friend's Saigon coffee, which was definitely stronger in flavor but still really good. Service was friendly and fast, which is always appreciated in the morning. I didn't get to take a picture of my drinks this time, but next time I will. Not sure what the rush is like later in the day, but based on this visit, it's definitely a spot I'd come back to. read more

Drinks are good, and they have online ordering if you're in a rush! The place overall looks pretty clean, and the inside is a good place to study at. The only thing is the prices are a bit high for the size. For a large drink expect to pay $10-$12 depending on the drink you get! read more

Hey Yelp Fam! Have yall tried this spot yet? Immediately when i walked in, it was soooo aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I was welcomed with a warm "Hi how are you?" A super clean, super warm in ambiance when you walk in. Music vibe is on point, chill, lowfi mix. Loved every song that came on. Just such a vibe all around. There is something on the menu for everyone, teas, coffee and matcha...oh my! I got the Iced dirty coconut matcha, it was sooo yummy. I personally like earthy coffee matcha flavors so this was right up my alley. My husband got the running dragon. It's a dragon fruit tea with cheese foam, so right up his alley. Definitely loved his too, so refreshing. A 10/10 I would definitely be returning to this spot and suggesting this to our friend group too. read more

I've been to other locations of Tram Cream Coffee and the coffee never disappoints. What did disappoint me is how under filled my drink was. I ordered a large drink (700ml) but in comparison to my friend's small drink (600ml) it looks like we had the same amount of drink in our cups. The coffee here is typically strong and I also added an extra shot and realized I don't think I got my extra shot as my coffee didn't take any stronger than normal. It's really disappointing to pay for upgrades that are not followed through. read more
