I was deeply disappointed at the COVID precautions. Only 2 of the 8 people I saw behind the meat counter were wearing there mask appropriately . Wearing it over both your nose and mouth is protecting me from you. If you are wearing a mask at all you understand the consequences of your actions. Cacciatore Brothers is a well-known west Tampa landmark that has been offering Italian and Latin favorites in a small European-style market along Hanley Road for many years. If you have found El Mofongazo Restaurant, then look directly across the parking lot and you're staring at the front doors to Cacciatore Brothers. Like many of the local neighborhood markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, Cacciatore's is well stocked with deli foods, extremely fresh produce, pastries, beans, rices, pastas, sauces and seasonings. Add to that shelves filled with countless boxed and canned goods, coolers of beer and sodas, and homemade spice blends. In addition Cacciatore's has a full wine shop, and a huge butcher shop / meat counter extending along two sides of the store with freshly sliced cheese, cold cuts, homemade sausages, and a fantastic selection of custom-cut steaks, beef, chicken, pork, seafood and fish. They had some amazing special pricing on steaks, ribs, and pork roasts today, so I loaded up for the Holidays. As an example, the boneless pork loin was $2.99 a pound, and so a nice 4-pound roast for $12, along with a bag of yellow rice and some black beans, and I'm good for the week! This place is an absolute 10. They're so busy sometimes the service is slow but it's worth the wait.

This is a very cool Italian market with a big time meat section and some primo produce and baked goods from local bakeries (Alessi, La Segunda, etc.). Cacciatore specializes in meat and prepared take n bake foods from their deli department. It's a Tampa gem and fun to explore. I was disappointed that they wouldn't stock a type of cheese I like (aarmenian string cheese). But they do offer lots of tasty cheeses, prices are reasobable, there are some deals and it's fun ito ezplore their Italian goodies, fesh produce, and other ethnic fare including some Latin food. In the same plaza there is a Peruvian rotisserie place, an Indian food market, Skateworld for roller skating, and a vase place. read more

Been here a ton of times. Used to live down the street. Great for meats and a few imported items. Otherwise, they ain't got nothing exclusive. I'm sure that back in the day the stuff they carry was more uncommon, but with America's evolving taste most of their grocery items can be purchased in the ethnic aisle of your favorite grocery chain for a cheaper price. Well my experience was somehow different even though i agree their meat selection is great the hygiene is to be questioned but what triggered this note is the way i was treated by one of their employee at check out. Turned out she felt the need to check my personal stuff out of the blue with no explanation or right to do it. Wednesday after visiting my granddaughters, which is the highlight of my week, I went to cacciatore bros on Hanley and I just want to share how I feel about this store. Everyone that works there is so nice and helpful while doing everything with a smile. The store itself gives me a feeling of being in a store in Italy, which is on my bucket list. My rating is mainly for the great variety of steaks and pricing. Cacciatore Bros. is well located, offers good parking, and has a decent selection on produce. I strongly recommend them for the cuts of steak, you'll find Delmonico, T-Bone, Porterhouse, Loins, Filets.... you name it, they likely have it. The steaks are very reasonably priced. As far as the produce, they are typical to those of other Italian markets, nice deli, great wine list, you'll find a little bit of everything here. I wouldn't consider this market as a regular shopping spot, as their general dry goods selection leaves quite a bit to be desired, and the prices on shelf stocked items seem to be a bit on the high side. However, if you're specifically looking for meat and deli items, this is THE place. Found this market to be enjoyable. All personal were very pleasant , informative, and nice. Prices comparable & in some cases lower than Publix. Perfect location for a family owned grocery store! Located very close to the town and country post office branch. They feature affordable wines, entree and dinner selections, meat and grocery items. Depending on what you're looking for you can find most items cheaper elsewhere. However, the location provides convenience for many members of the town and country community. There is an odor inside that smells like old meat and food. Most often you can find flies flying around as you walk through the store. The food items do not appear fresh and seem as though they have been left out without being chilled for several hours. You can expect to wait forever for a cashier as the line keeps building due to a cashier not being present or not enough cashiers at the register. I do about 60% of our shopping at Caccitore Bros. The prices so are insanely low that one wonders how the can stay in business! They often run bulk sales such a 5lbs pork chops for $2.99/lb, or 10lbs chicken breast for $1.79/lb. If you visit their facebook you can get their weekly specials and coupons. Just make sure you let the guys at the counter know about your coupon so you get the special deal! Girls at the front will not know! Everything I've ever bought is super fresh. Their deli is unparalleled, they have the best pastrami ever. I laugh at how much I used to spend on deli meats before shopping here. Produce is hit or miss but the prices are right. For dry goods they have tons of canned and dried specialty items as well as any type of rice or pasta one could desire. The staff is very efficient and speedy, if lacking somewhat in overall friendliness. I am consistently pleased shopping there and always feel grateful to be able to support a local small business. A wonderful Italian deli & grocery store (actually 2 related stores, one on Armenia, and one on Hanley.) It has any kind of Italian staples you might want with lot of Latin Items as well. The full butcher section offers custom-cut meats, and freshly made Italian sausage, beer/veal or chicken variations, both wonderfully seasoned and often on sale. Also a fine cheese section and nice wines, again often on sale. The deli has some excellent prepared salads/soups/dishes and Italian specialties like antipasto salad. Latin specialties include Cuban Sandwiches, blood sausage, and Cuban bread. They and will make sandwiches to order, including the best Muffeleta I have had outside of New Orleans. A good selection of fresh fruit/veggies, and shelves of specialty Italian cooking items, such as bulk pine nuts and lots of grated cheese varieties. I love it that the Armenia store is is in walking distance of my home, so when I am on an exercise walk, I can drop in and pick up a sausage re-supply and a few items I did not know I needed until I entered and smelled. read more

There's also a whole aisle dedicated to sauces and noodles and such. You can do you regular shopping here to a degree for milk and vegetables, but nothing is the finest or the freshest. There's a very limited, simple sandwich list, a decent international wine selection and some fine crackers and cheese. This specialty market is definitely making it on my list of to-go places at least once a month to pick up some items. If you like them on Facebook, you can find out about their weekly specials and coupons. If the special is on meat, be sure to tell the staff behind the meat counter who will adjust the price tag sticker accordingly (the cashier will shrug their shoulders at you and make you do the same...yes I found out the hard way). The workers behind the counters were all very friendly. Their produce aisle is small but they did have the basics at fair prices. I was most drawn to their specialty products, cheese aisles and deli section. They had a huge variety of canned sardines alone! I love going to this meat market. A lot of the red meat has to be bought in bulk, however it is really worth it. They will cut it up into whatever size steaks you want. I bought a beef loin and they cut it into one inch thick steaks and I got about 12 steaks. The taste is really good on these as well. You do have to "Like" them on FB to get their coupons and weekly specials, but it's worth it. Plus I got some chicken breast and one breast could feed me and my boyfriend for dinner they are huge. So next time you need to get some meat do not go to the plain ol' grocery store, check this place out first. You will not be disappointed. read more

We live just a few blocks away from Cacciatore's, so we're here all the time. There are some places in Tampa where I feel really out of place being non-Latin; everyone in the store speaks Spanish & sometimes not even the staff speaks English, & everything is labeled in terms that I'm not familiar with. Cacciatore's is NOT one of those places. Sure, they have items I'm not familiar with; being from California, Cuban food isn't something I have much experience with. But the staff is always more than happy to explain anything to you if you have questions (& they all speak English in addition to Spanish). The gentlemen at the meat counter are super sweet & super helpful. They have a bunch of different cuts of beef, & some chicken & pork; not so much seafood. They have delicious homemade sausages, including chorizo, and hams and cheeses as well. The grocery store is well-stocked; you could probably get everything you need here, though things like milk & prepackaged cheese would be cheaper at Publix or the like. They don't have the largest produce section I've ever seen, but unlike Publix, I find that almost all of the produce looks really *fresh* -- no wilted veggies for me, thanks. They don't carry as much out-of-season stuff, but you can get your basics here just fine. & my absolute FAVORITE thing about Cacciatore's? The Cuban sandwiches. They have them pre-made, with or without lettuce & tomato, in baskets in the produce case up front, for under $3. They're not toasted or pressed, so if you like your sandwiches like that you should probably go elsewhere, but man are they GOOD. Just the right amount of mustard & pickles, & the meat & cheese in perfect proportions.... Yum. My favorite neighborhood supermarket. read more

We recently checked this market out and were pleasantly surprised with the wide variety of food offered. My family was thrilled to see the variations of high end meat which was available to pick from. We stocked up on some various hams as well as four different cheeses. Everything we had was incredibly fresh and sliced perfectly. What they offer is something that can't really be found anywhere else, that I've found, in Tampa. Cacciatore Bros. is a great meat market and with a small grocery selection, it can be a one stop shop if needed. The meat counter can be a little intimidating on a busy weekend morning. Be prepared to wait your turn once you pull a number and have your list ready when you are called because it is a fast paced system. Check their Facebook page for specials and mention the secret code when ordering. They also have a daily special in the regular ad (also posted on Facebook.) There are great deals on steak when you buy the whole loin and they will cut it into steaks and trim the fat for free. On top of the meat, they have wine, great cheese selection, Cuban sandwiches to go, and my husbands favorite Cinderella cheesecake. The only thing that Cacciatores is lacking is a good seafood selection but I noticed a new seafood market opened next door so I will have to check it out! read more

Has a nice deli section, but the rest of the store seems very confused. I thought it was an Italian style place, yet there are tons of other items mixed in. Not a bad thing necessarily, but I'd prefer to have a great selection of Italian, as the Bodega type item they have can be found just about anywhere around here. You can watch sausage being made and even participate in the making by adding spices etc.. This market is really a classic. It is not glitzy and sparkly with exotic and wild selections, but is bright, clean and packed with every Italian item you may be looking for. The meat area has a beautiful selection of top-grade goods and the produce section is full of the freshest vegetables and fruits. They have many specialty items that I Iove and after checking them out, was even more dissatisfied and disappointed.
