Shrimp, Al Pastor and Carnitas Tacos
    Sam H.

Delicious street food tacos here in Charleston. I'm from Austin, which has some of the best authentic Mexican food. This place did not disappoint and will be getting my business again before I leave.

Pass by it all the time and see the crowd. Time to try it! IT'S GREAT! SSSHH Good things should be kept a secret. Right?!?! Food truck on Chuck Dawley Blvd at the entrance of Hickory Shadow. Delicious food, very friendly & fast service. It can get crowded so go early. Shared parking lot with plenty of parking. Where do I start! We split everything. I had left overs. Very filling. We tried the Mexican Cuban yum. Al Pastor taco, Chicharron taco, Shrimp quesadilla & Shrimp Cachitaco. Everything was so fresh tasting and the SHRIMP OMG. Of course we had to try the Churros mmmm. I will definitely be a repeat customer!!!

Two steak tacos with two sauces and a roasted jalapeño

I finally got to try these tacos after reading so many reviews. The good, they are relatively inexpensive ($3 per taco, taxes included(- they provided two sauces and a roasted jalapeño. They were very efficient in taking orders, provided a beeper to notify you when it was done. It is food truck that rotates through mp so there were basic picnic style seats (nothing fancy). I ordered the steak tacos - nothing really stood out for me - sorry! I am comparing them to el molino (al prefer) and the truck near Walmart on the south side (which I think was overpriced and not so friendly).

If you see this taco truck, stop and buy a taco, burrito, or quesadilla. Thank me later.

Best Mexican in Mt Pleasant. If you're driving by and see the truck, stop what you're doing and pull in. Thank me later. We love all their burritos, tacos, and especially the shrimp quesadilla. It's nothing fancy, but fresh and delicious food.

I finally got to try Cachita's Kitchen Food Truck yesterday as it was located in its usual spot on Chuck Dawley Blvd, just down from Carolina Lanterns. Parking is a breeze as the truck is located in what looks like an old parking lot right on the street. The server was super friendly and helpful to me, since I had no clue what to order. I just knew I was hungry. The Cuban is massive and I should have shared. I can see why this truck is always busy, it always has people in line. The line moves very fast and the sandwich was ready super fast. We had one each & two drinks. $20. Fast & delicious. If you are on the fence about trying Cachita's Kitchen.. just do it!!

I thought I shared a review for them a while ago but not seeing it so here we go. I ran into this truck at the Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Farms. I always see them posted up on Chuck Dawley and wanted to try them so I made a point to skip the fair food in exchange for tacos. I got a couple regular tacos and a couple cachitacos with some extra toppings and cheese. They were all good, but the cachitacos made me go back and order more even though it was raining and time to go. I would definitely stop in Mt P to explore the menu and get some more of those tacos.

I am from Mexico and I would give this tacos a 10/10! The tortillas are delicious which is a must for good tacos and the carne asada and Pastor tacos were great. The people working were very friendly.

That press though mmmm - Mexican Cuban

Yum! First spot that popped up as an advertisement which grabbed my attention when in search of ceviche, so ya had my attention there for a pause. A few minutes later my SO called and asked if I was feeling Mexican. -Vibes- Went with the Cuban instead of my craving, as they do not have that, yet keeping within the Florida theme that have been dreaming of lately. Of course doing the dip trio is a must. Fresh guac, thick queso, fresh pico. The Cuban was very generously portioned and could last a couple meals easy, but I challenge you to try not to make like Thanksgiving and have the other half 30 minutes later. Usually not a fan of most of the ingredients of Cubans separately but when all combined, es magik. Thanks guys!

Best food truck fare ever. I got good advice and bought the burrito, cuban, and the tacos. We brought everything back to the office and shared amongst 3 of us. Really loved every minute of it as did my entire office. Will be back and hopefully soon. They are in 2 different places in Mt P that I know of. I went to the Advanced Auto location. Not too long a line and quick service. You need to try this!

What are the hours? I drove to the address on Yelp around 6pm today (Monday) but the food truck wasn't there 😕

Apparently they don't work on Mondays or Tuesdays. They also have been at Boone Hall plantation on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Boone Hall plantation is charging $12 to get in which is bogus because I only want the food. I would call before… Read more

The same waitress always greets us warmly and stops for a brief chat between tables. The clientele is... whatever, no one should go to a restaurant for diners around them. Golf is usually on the television, although yesterday the Premier League was on. If you're coming here for authentic Mexican food, don't bother. If you want a really good, tasty Tex-Americana meal, this is your spot. We ordered an appetizer (which we don't, usually, because the options are so massive), queso with ground beef and salsa. The tortilla chips were fresh and well salted. If you wanted to visit just for that, you'd be fine. I always get the Mexican Pizza with grilled chicken and grilled fish. I didn't get the margarita; however, they do those right here as well. Always an enjoyable experience.

Leave my ID at the bar for like 10 minutes while putting it through 17 scanners, I'm a 30-year-old goddamn Mom and registered nurse being treated like I'm 14 years old that's asking for a Four Loko In high school. It was bizarre. Like instead of treating us like adults here for a drink and dinner he treated us like we were kids asking for alcohol. It was terrible. When he first gave us water as we sat there for like 10 minutes while he sat outside to talk to his coworkers and as somebody who was a waitress for 10+ years it was bad. Truly I don't leave reviews but he was rude.

It's not my favorite type of Mexican restaurant, as it's a little more upscale than I *personally* prefer, but if upscale Mexican is your vibe, then this'll be the perfect restaurant for you! They had an alright selection of beers, to include a couple of IPAs, but my friends and I didn't really enjoy their cocktails. They were expensive, but lacking in much flavor or zest. Besides looking cool, the taste didn't really match the aesthetic. Furthermore, the food was solid, but not that much better than your basic Mexican restaurant. As for the service, our waiter was nice enough, but he always seemed to be in a hurry, and was walking away while we were still trying to give our order. All-in-all, I'm probably making Matador sound worse than it was, but it was merely a slightly above-average Mexican experience, not a transcendental dining experience that I'll never forget. I'll give it 3/5 stars, and would recommend it based on your personal preference.

Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice.
