My wife and I had a fundraiser coupon that offered BOGO1/2OFF. We went on Saturday afternoon and really had a wonderful experience. The service was homey and familiar. We usually split entrees and get a cocktail each but with the discount offer we needed to get two meals to get the full value. Our waitress was very helpful in suggesting that we get something and split it and then get an order to go! We split a Mexican combo with a taco and cheese enchilada, beans and rice. I cannot believe the audacity of the waiter to claim that their meat is "higher quality", which is why they were expensive. They serve complimentary chips and salsa; chips tasted like they were cooking in bad oil and the salsa is not authentic, which I expected. I had the philly cheesesteak for $12. The portion was huge! It looked amazing but was extremely disappointing. The fries were perfectly crisped and delicious, while the philly cheesecake lack any and all flavor. Service here was great! Upon arrival I was greeted by Julie who quickly got me seated and water before I even asked. She was quick to bring extra salsa to go with the chips that were fresh and not oily which I liked. The food was great as well. The wet burrito was very saucy and absolutely stuffed with shredded beef. The portions where huge and the price was fair. The restaurant was quite and they had some games on too. We have had 2 family events at this restaurant and the service was amazing. Our waitress, Heather, was quick and could anticipate our needs prior to us asking. Don't go here for breakfast the waitress made us wait 10 minutes without even taking our order. Then we were told she would be right back, a few min later .. still no waitress . We ended up leaving ... it's no wonder why this restaurant doesn't do well during breakfast hours. It wouldn't of left, but bad service and being rude at the same time . Normally we love this restaurant! We come here quite frequently! However tonight the cleanliness of the restaurant really made us question coming back. We ordered some wine and my dads glass you could tell that it had been used for a mimosa as there was still pulp in/on the glass. We told the waitress and she just said "oh I'm sorry." We then ordered another round and the glass I received also had pulp in/on the glass. We told another waitress and she pretty much said the same thing. However I was offered a new glass. It one thing for this to happen once but twice in the same evening? The bartender and waiters/waitresses really need to look at the glasses they are giving to the customers to make sure they are clean. If they are handing out multiple glasses like this who knows what the other dishes look like. read more

While a lot of steak and lobster are sold on the weekends, thier salmon with grilled vegetables and green beans was fantastic and they have great hamburgers (make sure to include grilled onions). Ok the food is bland and overpriced here. This is like the bootleg version of Applebee's. This place was able to capture the bland mediocrity of the American sit down restaurant chain but not be an actual chain. We ordered the fajitas here and they served it to us refrigerator temperature. Like the actual fajita dish was cold. The one dish that should be sizzling hot is somehow cold. And this was not a "left out not directly under the heating lamp too long" cold. This was taken right out of the fridge cold. Which begs the question, is any of their food actually freshly cooked? I wouldn't be surprised if they just heated precooked, frozen fajita meat, threw it on a skillet and added water to give that sizzling effect. We started realizing during our meal that they are serving us overpriced, reheated food. If you know me from my previous reviews, I'm a sucker for eating till I'm bloated. No shame, no reservations. But I don't know if it was the pain from my untreated gingivitis but I couldn't stomach to finish my plate. I really don't recommend this place considering the price and the relative food quality. The fajitas were of chewy consistency. Our side of mixed veggies were over cooked and over salted. But hey, if you're really craving the bland restaurant chain experience but Applebee's is full and the frozen Costco food in your fridge could wait to be eaten, this can be your next option! they play too loud of really dancable music to not have a dance floor. either turn the music down so we can have normal level conversation at the table and be able to hear our server, or put out a dance floor so people can actually enjoy the music. the service was really slow even tho the food was good. a lot of this setting isn't disability friendly if you have sensory issues just fyi. not a complaint necessarily but it did overstimulate, especially when they did their birthday routine with this rotating instrument which doesn't make me want to return any time soon. the marg pitcher drinks were good. read more

If you are looking for a great neighborhood style family restaurant in the Riverside area, then I recommend The Cactus Cantina in the Mission Grove Center! It is a causal restaurant with a hometown feel. Plenty of local pictures on the walls with plenty of flat screen TVs so you can watch the game while eating. Its a little noisy but nothing unbearable. The food is always tasty! I have eaten there any times and have never had a bad meal. Today I had the wet Fajita Burrito with Chicken And it was cooked perfectly with lots of wonderful flavors. The refried beans are tasty too but I have to avoid then for my wife's sake :) They also always give you some chips and salsa to start your visit which is also tasty. I see the reviews that talk about the service and we have never had a bad service experience and we have eaten there a number of times. I really think some people aren't happy unless they are complaining about something. Overall we had a great experience and I think you will too so make sure you check it out! read more

Tried sending the restaurant my experience, but website isn't working. I'm not a picky eater.....My fish tacos were awful!! Sauce that comes with them was so tart, horrible too. Beans, rice and salsa wonderful. Husband had wet chicken burrito. As I wouldn't eat the rest of my dinner he gave me half of his .Chicken only with of course the sauce. Totally tasteless. Our dinner tonight was one of the worst eve served there. We had to send the main corse back (salmon) because it was undercooked. Rather than just provide us with a new meal they merely too back the salmon while the two sides got cold. this is the second time this particular selection was inferior. In fairness it used to be awesome. Not sure what's going on. As an added note, their concern for customer isn't what it used to be. We've been going there for many, many years. read more
