Great place. Definitely Riley a hidden gem. We come here for their fish and chips and you get 3 pieces and freshly made fries. Piping hot and delicious staff here is super friendly and there's always a special going one. I also got their clam chowder and gumbo and both were quite salty. Pass on this one for sure. Nice spot to grab lunch or dinner, the restaurant is in the center of the riverside plaza drive but has great seating options inside and out. They always have great choices of music playing. The staff from all shifts are always greeting and great with customers, giving their own insights on what to eat and what's the deal for the day. Many of their fish options are nice either fried, grilled, or even blackened to perfection. Sides come out fresh and just as hot as the main entrees. The owner is often in the establishment making sure everything and everyone is getting the best service. Definitely highly recommended to get the crispy fish tacos with a nice drink to accompany it. The parmesan encrusted white fish looked so good that I had to ask a stranger at a table next to me what she ordered. Of course I went with that. She had a kale salad as her side. I ordered the creamy jalapeño slaw and mashed potatoes as mine. The white fish portion was large. I definitely had leftovers for lunch for the next day. A friend recommended this place and said they also have a location in Long Beach. Our friend raved about their lobster roll, so we came to order exactly that and a side order of caesar salad. The lobster roll tasted good, just wished it had a little more lobster compared to the other people in my group. The caesar salad was crisp and tasty and I really enjoyed it so it was a good pairing with the lobster roll. It is a sit down restaurant but you have to place your order at the counter and they give you a number yo place on your table. The ambiance is casual and no special attire is required. The place had a good vibe, can get a little crowded but not overly so. It had a good balance of busy noise but not loud. And the service was great. The prices can vary depending what which day and what time you come. Even on a Sunday, the lunch menu can be a good value but some of the entrees such as the fish may be better to order on the main menu, but if you want a drink included with your meal, that's a great option. Parking can be a challenge, and you could expect to walk a little if you don't find a space right in front. We like the food here, but unfortunately the staff are a bit lazy. We came before closing at 7:53pm and placed our orders but they only gave us our food in a takeout bag. Most restaurants let you place dine in orders until closing and don't try to make you leave with takeout. 7:53 pm is also pretty early as it is to try to be pushing people out of the restaurant. The food quality is 5 stars but the service brought it down to 3 stars. Sorry. We told the staff they were being lazy directly as well when they gave us the takeout bags. We asked to speak to the manager but he had left earlier. When we asked for a phone number to discuss our concerns with him or her the staff didn't provide us with a phone number. I stay late at work all the time and have been recognized for excellence at my workplace, so I know what chasing excellence looks like, and this isn't it. read more

OK used to love this place, had a bad experience after covid, see prior review. Havn't been back in years until lunch today. I ordererd the grilled swordfish with ceasar side salad and brocoli coleslaw as well as kids fish and chips with an additional side of caesar. Lets start with the good. Piece of fried fish was cooked to perfection it could not have been better, I will come back for that. I asked if fries came with it and the side and was told yes. No fries were included when I opened the to go bag. My kids liked the ice cream cup that came with it. Constructive criticism on the caesar...while the slices of parmesan or whatever it is that are in there would be better if freshly grated or cut each morning and not preped way ahead of time as they were obviously prepacked in the boxes and the cheese was just awful, dry and rubbery with no flavor. It would be better just to throw the fresh stuff preferable grated fresh on the top right before serving. It makes no sense to make fresh food and drop the ball on a simple side. Swordfish was a large thin cut skin on, which is fine-but the cook does not know how to prepare swordfish. Like yellowtail it is hard to screw up given the high fat content. This was cooked probably twice as long as it should be it was tasty but tough and dried out a bit. Advice to cook. A thin piece of swordfish like that max 2-2.5 min per side on high flame. If it was a thick cut the 8-10 minutes you cooked it for would have been ok. Broccoli slaw ok but not much broccoli. One frustrating customer service point is that the cashier and later the manager seemed irritated that I wanted to stand up front and not sit, mind you I was not blocking anyone. She particularly kept trying to shove the metal number thing at me and get me to sit. Leave customers alone, jesus. read more

I have been to Pier 76 twice and both times I was as happy with my experiences. I wish I could give them 4.5 stars. They would be a 5 if they had a full bar. During the first occasion, I felt very safe with five RV police officers eating across from me. It must be good if they were there as policemen always know the good food spots. I overheard one of them say they ordered shrimp tacos so I changed my order to include a shrimp taco. I had originally planned to order fried shrimp but opted for one crispy fish taco and one shrimp taco with the Brussels sprouts and broccoli. The chipotle cream and avocado salsa on the crispy fish taco complimented each other well. The piece of white fish was so large that I couldn't close my flour tortilla. The shrimp was nicely blackened with the same cream and salsa as the fish taco. I counted at least four large pieces of shrimp. Both were flavorful and tasty. I received a fairly large serving of roasted broccoli and Brussels sprouts. They were marinated in a vinaigrette with Parmesan cheese and pickled red onion and were extremely delicious. I was able to eat everything myself - no doggie bag as I love these two vegetables. Kudos to the chefs! The inside of the restaurant was larger than I expected - six tables for two and six tables for four were scattered inside with a small bar to dine at. Outside there is a small exterior patio seating area with a couple of umbrellas. All of the staff were attentive. One gal was sweeping and cleaning the dining area and another was picking up the dirty dishes. 70s classic rock played softly in the background. Think Rolling Stones, Eagles, Rod Stewart, Journey. I received two good sized tacos with a large helping of vegetables on the side and a beer for less than $20. That is a great deal. I will definitely be looking forward to my next visit. read more

I prefer the crispy fish taco over the smoked fish taco, but both still tasted good! I also ordered the crispy fish taco plate with the broccoli slaw. The service in the other hand, is the worst service I've ever had. We don't get greeted and she doesn't make us feel welcomed. We sat down and they gave us our food. One of the servers (Hispanic, broad, brown hair) kept staring at us and made us feel awkward, then another worker was by herself cleaning the tables while the server who took our order was in the back standing and talking with the cooks and as we would get up to get more soda she would continue glaring at us. I was here a few weeks ago and what I ordered was just terrible. I got the salmon, thin slices of zucchini, hummus and somewhat stale tortilla chips, and clam chowder. My partner ate here before and knew to go for the lobster roll! I got to taste the roll and it was the best thing I ate. Everything else I ate had no flavor but at least the hummus tasted alright. The clam chowder tasted like it had chemicals in it! We told the cashier the clam chowder tasted weird and they immediately gave us a refund which was nice!
