I had the worst experience with waitress Kristie! I had never had an experience like this before at ANY other restaurant! She had such an attitude, when we were simply asking for a refill- she said "oh I thought you were done", she then proceeded to make these faces of attitude like we were a burden! Such a hidden gem! Went on a Saturday for lunch with 2 others. We ordered shrimp tacos and they were delicious. The chips and salsa starter was awesome. First time checking this place out last night and I was so disappointed with the food. I have never had nachos that come with olives. Why are you guys adding black olives onto nachos!? Also I came for happy hour and they didn't really have much to offer, my poor lady ordered a fish taco that literally stuck up the place, she didn't even eat the taco because it smelled so bad. Service was good - our server repeatedly checked on us - food came out in a timely manner- nachos with carne asada were large and good - large burrito was good - I had a two item Mexican plate - was not a fan of the sauce - beans and rice were tradition combo plate type - had shredded beef on taco and enchilada - would order cheese enchilada next time - too much beef - but the sauce was the weak spot for me - televisions with spots games on - music as well - very loud with large talkative groups - they were moving around the tables as well - due to the occasions - understandable - just loud and not real relaxing. They have good food, we go there a lot but Sunday we went there with a big party. Service was horrible they never filled any drinks, ships and it took along time for food or even asked if we needed anything. Then when the bill came they added a 20% tip. The food is pretty decent here but what I want to comment is the server, it's 4 pm and fairly quiet and our server clearly has her share of tables and it's doing great! A large table near us is giving her a pretty hard time with all their demands and need to order before us, even giving me a dirty look when the waitress took me and my toddler child's order before their 10 top. If you've ever worked in a restaurant you know why putting in a quick two top order does wonders for timing before bombarding the kitchen with a 10 top with tons of customizations lol anyways, the servers here are doing great and people need to just chill. read more

Man I really hate giving a low star rating but at the same time I have to be totally honest. I'll start by saying I went in Cinco de Mayo so maybe getting the specials weren't s good idea. Moving on...they had $5 margaritas and $2 tacos. Who can say no to that?!? (Well I should have) The house margarita was terrible and I'm believe it was some cheap mix and the tequila prob came in a bottle that just said TEQUILA. I ordered 3 tacos, asada, chicken and carnitas. Of the three the carnitas was the best of the worst. None of the meat was seasoned. They did provide a cup of green salsa which helped but geez. The chicken and steak seems boiled not grilled. Now I must say I've been told that this place was good so I'm willing to try something off the regular menu at a later date. They offer great steaks, hamburgers, sandwiches, soups, Mexican style foods, etc. So they offer great variety, You cannot go wrong you'll find something for the whole family including the kids.. The staff were very inviting from the host, kitchen staff and waitress we felt very comfortable. The restaurant was clean and a very large restaurant with plenty of tables and comfortable lighting. For a Saturday there was no wait time upon our arrival and were seated quickly. The prices are also very reasonable for both lunch and breakfast. Unfortunately the food was not as great as the service and prices. I had huevos rancheros and which is fried tortillas with eggs and salsa. On Friday August 12th my wife and I went to Cactus Cantina for dinner. Our dinner and drinks came to a total of $59.79. I left a $10.00 tip (16.5%) signed the ticket and left without taking the customer copy of the receipt. The total bill should have been $69.79. On Saturday August 13th I went into my checking account and found that I had been charged $71.79. Someone at Cactus Cantina changed by tip from $10.00 (16.7%) to $12.00 (20%). I went over to Cactus Cantina and talked to the lead waitress (manger was not available) and explained my issue. I told her it wasn't the $2.00 I was complaining about but the fact that someone is being dishonest and making changes to tip amount customers are leaving. She apologized and refunded $2.00. I ask her to bring this to the owners attention and call me and let me know what happened. I never received a call. Lesson learned. Take all your copies of your receipts. Take a picture of your receipt for future reference in case this happens to you. read more

Since moving to Orangecrest a year and a half ago we've been coming to Cactus Cantina pretty much every week. My husband has been telling me wow there prices have been going up and not like other restaurants. My husband ordered the shrimp dinner. I believe the price has gone up $7. My son ordered a steak it was rare instead of medium and they recooked the steak but there was blood all over the fries. I ordered taquitos and the guacamole they gave me was literally a teaspoon and clearly not enough for 4 taquitos so I asked for more and was charged 5.99 for a tiny container of guacamole. My husband and I each had one beer and my son had a soda. We were going to pay with cash thinking surely $100 we had on us would cover the bill. Our bill was $96 and with 18% tip not enough. This place has gotten too expensive for this family of 3 to go to on a regular basis read more
