Lunch enchilada, steak and goat cheese, rice and rf.beans crispy chips and good salsa too.

Food - pretty good. Service - good. Ambience- quiet in mid afternoon on a weekday. First time here on 7/22/25. Nice lunch portion for a lot of menu items. I had to try the steak and goat cheese enchilada, served with rice and Rf.beans. Enchilada was tasty, good flavor and spice Steak was thinly cut and infused well with the goat cheese. Rf beans were ok, hot. And tasty Rice was sub par, white, a few bits o cilantro, no taste. ( maybe that's intended? ) Hot sauce on the table is pepper jack's brand, so maybe same company??? Pj sauce with the rice, interesting combo I made, not quite sure what could awaken the rice properly though.

This Cactus Grill location has been around for a LONG time and when I rolled in for lunch with some old friends it really hit me that I hadn't been here since probably high school. That being said, I really had no baseline and no memory of what it was like so I went in with an open mind. Yelp reviews here are all over the place, and it's a local tex mex chain so I felt like the experience could be really just about anything. That being said, I was really happy with my lunch visit! I had a lunch combo of a taco and an enchilada and it hit the spot. The food was hot, tasted great, and came out in a reasonable amount of time. The service was also really friendly and prompt. I wasn't so blown away by the food that I'm craving it now, but would I go back for lunch again soon? Absolutely. Definitely really good tex mex, and reasonable prices for a sit down place.

I was THRILLED when the new Cactus Grill location opened in Lenexa, as it's close to my house, but sadly it left the original CG in the dust. I went to lunch at the Leawood location late one afternoon and left disappointed. It took so long time to be greeted at the door we wondered if they were closed. We saw people eating at a few booths so we stuck it out and waited. Once seated we met our server. I won't say he was rude, but he was not friendly-at-all. He never said hello, thank you, or even smiled. I know he had the capability of smiling because I saw him laughing with a coworker. Our food took an unusually long amount of time considering how empty the restaurant was, but I was excited to eat my favorite item on the menu....in my estimation it would be worth the wait. It was not. The crab and shrimp enchiladas I have grown to love at the Lenexa location were honestly disgusting at this restaurant. The shrimp was "shrimpy" and seemed a little undercooked. I didn't eat them. The enchilada itself was swimming in grease. It was all very unappetizing. Thankfully Cactus Grill has incredible chips and salsa and a dynamite Jalapeño margarita that saved the day. After this visit I think I will stick to the newer shinier location instead.

Great food and service. Good quality and quantity. Ambience is very casual which I like. Drinks were ok for the price.

Went here a year ago and it was amazing, the same goes for now. The Guac is delicious and so is the tacos! Service was great too, will be coming back.

We stopped by Catcus Grill for Mothers Day and enjoyed a nice family meal. They had great portions of food for adults and kids. I ordered the fish tacos, fajitas, and three kids' meals. We liked all the food. I do wish the fish tacos just had more flavor. It was missing some kinda sauce that would have made it really pop. The presentation of the plates was excellent. Service was also very good. This place is worth a try.

Extremely happy with this restaurant. The food quality is high and a very robust menu. Everyone is friendly and they have extra large booths for 4-6 people! Enough food for take home left overs. They also have a discount for veterans.

Party of 5 gals. I couldn't control my obsession with free tortilla chips (Yikes!) FUEL after overconsumption of chips I ordered avocado toast. Surprised they now have brunch items. ATMOSPHERE typical chain restaurant with Tex Mex flair. SERVICE awkward waiter vibe, food arrived quickly. Finally, this chain restaurant was satisfactory. Recommended for regular schmegular folks.

Secondly, when I went home, I was just expecting tacos, and found this wide array of grilled vegetables in my takeout order. Thirdly, several of the tacos were insanely delicious. To start off Rafael, at the front was very funny and made it very comforting. He made conversation with us and was very accommodating. We also received free chips and queso which was my daughter's favorite! The place itself is very calm and just seems like a chill spot to come for a quick eat. I ordered the steak tacos and veggie burrito (which Rafael fixed up for me on regular price with no extra charges for adding fries). We enjoyed our food and had a great time. Everything was delicious and Rafael did a great job on making this a good time for us. I wasn't really a big fan of their horchata but they had other good drinks available. I want to add that I feel like we started receiving special treatment because they realized we were yelpies so I don't know how service is on a regular day. Altogether, I'll be coming back here again!

The service was okay! Nothing super special but they answered questions and were helpful at the counter. This was our first time here so we ordered a few things to sample and share amongst ourselves. The first thing we had was the chips and queso, which I thought was a bit expensive at $7.99 but not too bad. The queso was fairly spicy but otherwise nothing special. I usually love queso so it surprised me how neutral I felt toward it! The chips were good, thin and light with a crispy bite to them. We unfortunately didn't get to try the salsa, noticing only at the end of our meal that there was a sauce bar near the counter! The birria tacos were also...okay. They were very juicy but not very uniquely flavored compared to everything else we tried. The meat was tender and I loved the texture of the tortilla, but didn't care for the massive handful of cilantro dropped on top of everything on the plate. The dipping liquid (birria sauce?) was alright! It was the same flavor as the tacos themselves so it didn't add much, but it definitely wasn't bad. The "main course" of what we ordered was a combo of soft chicken tacos, rice, and beans. The chicken tacos were unfortunately very cold by the time we got them which was a bit strange, as almost everything else was hot! They tasted good but I'm really not a fan of eating cold chicken, so I passed them off to my friends. The beans were just okay. There's really not much to say about them. The rice also left me disappointed! I typically devour Spanish rice. Not only was it cold, there were also odd, hard grains of rice mixed in. Not enough to get one every bite but enough that the experience of eating it was off-putting. It was also quite bland. Another note: While we were eating, there was this constant loud droning coming from the air conditioner. I'm a MASSIVE fan of air conditioning so I'm grateful it was on in the first place, but that is something they really need to get fixed. Two women seated near us actually got up and walked outside after commenting multiple times about how disturbing the noise was. My experience here was definitely a mixed bag but it leaned toward the positive, so we'll likely try them again! They had several other menu items I'd like to try, including some American fare that I found intriguing.

My build-your-own weekday lunch ($8) included choice of entrée, choice of beans and rice. It was served just ten minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me time to dig into the complimentary chips and mild (with a little kick), somewhat chunky salsa. The chicken tinga burrito was packed full of moist, white chicken and topped with a very flavorful sauce and cheese. I found the black beans to be pretty good, but the rice was somewhat dry and clumpy. The dining area had a central bar area, unique light fixtures, a mix of booths and tables, Mexican decor, Mexican background music (not too loud), a table-side cart for fresh guacamole and several backdrop spots for photos. I also noticed two rollup garage doors leading to the covered patio area. The food and drink menus included Mexican favorites, taco flights, taquito flights, margarita flights, 88 tequilas, meals for the kiddos and brunch (Sat & Sun 11AM - 2PM). Food: Everything is made to order and customizable which is rare. -(6) Grilled chili butter oysters my favorite very great flavor -(6) Grilled Stuffed Oysters this was very different but still good I was nervous about the octopus idk of if I necessarily taste it was a fishy flavor but still great to try. I would probably try it without octopus next time. My waiter suggested using the premade lime mixture to cut the fishy taste and it worked perfectly and I also tried the habanero lime mixture. That's on the table and that tastes good as well it cut the fishiness. -Ceviche tostadas no carrots and light cilantro no (btw this is the Pacifico one): probably the best ceviche I've had and I added the habanero purée and it was perfection.
