This time I ventured out to Mexico Lindo KC Restaurant & Bar, and I'm so glad I did! They're serving up an authentic Mexican dining experience with traditional recipes and a modern twist. The menu is fantastic -- so many great options to choose from. We went all out and tried the spinach enchiladas, the Mexico Lindo special, sizzling fajitas, a burrito, and of course some tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious. We also started with some appetizers -- fresh guacamole, their new birria Mexican pizza (a must-try!), and some creamy queso dip. To wash it all down, we tried a few of their amazing cocktails, including a super cool black margarita. On top of the great food and drinks, the service was fantastic and the staff was super friendly. They even have a fun burrito challenge if you're feeling brave! Definitely recommend checking them out if you're in Kansas City. And if you want more foodie adventures, feel free to follow me at Neyan Ventures on Instagram and TikTok to see where I venture next!

Stopped by for lunch on Christmas Eve. We were seated quickly and had great service. I had Elia's chimichanga which is a seafood chimi filled with real crab and shrimp and topped with spinach dip. It was amazing and they don't skimp on the seafood. I also loved that it was lightly fried. My husband had the Carne asada. He said it had good flavor and was good. We also tried their house margaritas. Their menu has a lot of great choices so we look forward to trying new things in the future.

    Chilaquiles

Ambiance - 5 (luv me some tinsel at a Mexican place for the holidays) Service - 5 (waitress was amazing) Chips and salsa - 5 (not your standard red salsa- had a little heat and was slightly smokey in a great way) Birria pizza - 5 (it's really a birria quesadilla and it is amazing) Chilaquiles - 4 (nicely done with over medium fried eggs- added shredded chx which drops this dish to a 4 overall as the shredded chx was pretty dry) Enchiladas - 2 (the only gap my coworkers and I could find.) Tried the chx suiza and a cheese with red sauce - both were bland, chx was dry and hard to cut thru and not worth ordering) Enchiladas aside, we will definitely be back to try more menu items!

This new restaurant offered great service, a nice atmosphere, good portions and tasty Mexican food at a reasonable price during my dine-in lunch visit. My #1 lunch combo ($9.99) was served with a smile just eight minutes after I ordered at the table. It included a taco, an enchilada, rice, choice of beans and complimentary chips with medium, slightly chunky salsa. I enjoyed the tasty beans, the fluffy, flavorful rice and the moist, shredded chicken. The dining area was colorful, clean, new and well-divided with a bar (liquor license coming soon), plenty of murals, several TVS and Mexican background music. Excellent!

So the inside is relatively nice. Staff was very nice. Food however is bland and not great. Birria tacos just a soggy greasy mess. Chips salsa very average. Enchiladas were very bland. House margarita 10 dollars yikes!

Check out the not so small small plate options.
    Great E.

Excellent Value!! That plate of food was 9.99. Food that came fast and with an attentive waitress and a big smile. No doubt this tamale was made fresh in house. The rice had a small amount of peas and corn in it showing attention to detail. Salsa came in a small carafe which is perfect for me bc it's all about the salsa. They also didn't hesitate one bit to brew me a cup of coffee at 3pm. And look at the size of that beautiful cup. The food pic is of a 'small portion' plate ... I couldn't believe the amount of food for 9.99. You can't get a greesy fast food meal for that price anymore. Get real food here. Bring the family or sit at the bar and enjoy a hand made margarita mixwd Margaritas. Staff was genuinely happy too. With a family party vibe. What a hidden gem this new place is.

We had a member of our family celebrating his birthday. We had a very good time, the food was good , the server was efficient, & I loved the way they came & sang to my son-In-law , he really enjoyed that . We had a table in the back, reserved for us it was a nice area to celebrate a birthday, the place was nice .

The restaurant is very clean, the staff is extra friendly, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Not a lot of flavor and the salsa is basically water with some tomato flavoring and onions. Stopped here to try it out because I had to kill some time in the area, probably will never come back.

The rundown: Ambiance: 4 Customer service: 3.5 Food: spinach enchiladas 4, rice 2, beans 3, chips&salsa 4, Jamaica 3, Overall, a decent Mexican restaurant. Affordable and clean. Willing to come again and try something else.

    Disgusting Queso Dip

Service and vibes are ALWAYS immaculate at Mexico Lindo. My complaint is not with who they are. If you want to support good people with amazing attitudes and genuine hearts, go to Mexico Lindo. However if you want your dreams shattered into a million tiny little pieces, order their new queso. They just recently went under new management and changed the recipe entirely for the queso and it is quite literally repulsive. I'm not sure whose idea it was to turn queso blanco into spinach and artichoke dip but I will not be coming back to Mexico Lindo until we get the old recipe back. Mexico Lindo KC made the worst business decision of all time when they destroyed the best queso in Kansas City. I will be wearing all black tomorrow... RIP the greatest item on your menu

    Fajitas Platter

This is our fav restaurant in the area. The food is great and staff is amazing. They just got new management who brought new recipes. Try the margaritas. Best music & salsa in the city too.

A staff member, for lack of a better word, gave me the cold shoulder and said the kitchen was closed. My wife was still interested in getting some tacos, so I thought about where to go. This place came to mind. We had been there before and had a good experience, and when we got here, there were maybe about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. I believe the person who said to us was also the manager, a really nice lady. She let us know that the kitchen was closing in about 15 minutes, but we were more than welcome to order and we'd be taken care of. Sure enough, we got a nice seat, good ambience, and a great waiter. They got us a seat, gave us some recommendations on the menu. I ended up ordering the Steak Quesadilla along with the complimentary chips and salsa with the three different types of salsa that they have. Came with that. My wife ended up ordering the Soft Shell Crab Tacos. I'll give the quesadilla a 4 out of 5. Great steak flavor, had some other grilled vegetables on the inside. Not as much cheese as I would like, but it had great flavor. The guacamole that came with it was pretty good. I loved the green salsa that came with the trio of salsas. I'm going to say it's tomatillo. I didn't ask. I'm not sure, but it tasted great. Good portion size, really good waitstaff. He took care of us. I was pleasantly taken care of on my side. My wife had the soft-shell crab tacos, nice and fresh, really big portion. She liked my quesadilla, so she went ahead and ordered her a plate of those as well. She only had about half the quesadilla portion. She had to take the other half to go. She did get a pineapple margarita, which she really enjoyed. She finished that completely. We really enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. It was nice, and I enjoyed myself. The soft-shell crab was a four out of five for the taco. She was a little thrown by the fact that the shell was still on it, which was a whole thing that she laughed with the waiter about. I'll say that we'll definitely be back to try their brunch, which the manager invited us to. If you've never been to this restaurant, you should definitely give them a try.

We didn't see her again for at least 45 minutes. I had to ask another server to check on my drink. We waited an eternity for my friend to order her drink and to order our food. A guy came over and introduced himself as our server. Shockingly, our initial server that went MIA, delivered us one of the dishes we had ordered. The food was great but the flies on the patio were insane. Ultimately, we finished our drinks and dessert inside at the bar. That was also a strange interaction. The bartender and our server were both very awkward about us moving inside. Given the service snafu and the swarm of flies, one would think they'd be friendlier. Anyhow, the food was great. We shared the aguachile shrimp, chicken fajitas, enchiladas and tres leche cake. We both had a couple margaritas which were delicious. I'd probably come back but sit inside and hope for a smoother service experience.

I've had a very hard time finding much Latin diversity here so far but for Mexican this is quite good. I've mostly gotten combo platters because I like the variety. I believe every combo platter should come with rice and beans. I can tell how authentic a place is by the beans and salsa quite often. So far I've liked the combo platters and the taco salad that I tried. Again, if I remember correctly, I had to pay extra to get beans on my taco salad. That would be one complaint I have. Beans should be a staple and come with everything unless the person doesn't want them. The service has been good. No complaints and it's been busy when we've eaten there usually during lunch hours. The decor and ambiance is pretty typical Mexican. Nothing fancy. The one thing I will note is I didn't see any Mexicans working there. Maybe someone in the kitchen I can't see so that's usually not a great sign. I know they've been around a long time. I'd probably go a smidge lower to 3.5 if I could just because I'm rather picky about Mexican and Latin food but I don't think it's fair to go down to 3 so I'm rounding up. The prices seem a bit high but everything is so expensive in 2026! They are probably pretty average for eating out and I'm sure it's costing them more just like all the rest of us have seen food prices sky rocket over the past year. I would certainly recommend them for a lunch bite and a nice Mexican American experience.

The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. I wish I would've had more time to look around the market because it looked like they had a lot of good stuff but I'll have to go back and see. They do have tables inside that you can eat at. The food was done at the quoted time and was accurate. The one individual I encountered was friendly. The menu was very straightforward-tacos, burritos, and a few other items, all can be customized. I had to get an order of chips and queso. I really liked their queso. It had good flavor and wasn't overly spicy. The chips were fresh and held up to the queso nicely. I'm definitely probably alway going to order this when I go. I also tried a taco with carne asada. The tacos are the street variety but they are really good sized. They don't skimp on the meat. And the carne asada was really good. No gristle or gross bits. It was chopped finely and I'd definitely order it again. I also had to try a burrito. I tried the El pastor for that and added on all the toppings-cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. I also opted for extra meat because it was super cheap-like $1, so why not? Again, I was not disappointed. I did throw my burrito on the good 'ol George Foreman when I got home because they don't grill it at all and I wanted some grill marks on that tortilla. Otherwise, the el pastor was flavorful and tender and the toppings were all fresh. Per usual, my eyes were bigger than my stomach so I saved half of my burrito, but it was a welcome leftover meal the following day. Definitely check them out if you're on the boulevard and want some tasty, Mexican grub.

I really love a local place and that's what Tacos El Gallo is to me. It sits along a strip of…read moreLatino/Mexican places in KCMO. We have stopped in a couple of times to grab something to go. You order at a counter and pick up at another counter. They have a bar with toppings and sauces/salsas available for you to add to your dish. There are quite a few tables inside if you want to eat in. I happened to have been there on Sundays do the shop item area has been closed but it's fun to glance at some of the wares they have for you to purchase as you wait on your order. I've had birria tacos and we usually get a bunch of tamales as well! We freeze some and eat on them later. Yum! Everything is good and authentic. Everyone we have encountered has been nice. We will definitely stop back by when we are in the area!

Had dinner here on a Sunday night. The place wasn't too busy, but the ambiance was great. I started…read morewith the pineapple mezcal drink (La Piña Ahumada) -- not too sweet, with just the right amount of smokiness. It was one of the best mezcal cocktails I've ever had, and I stuck to those for the rest of the night. Drinks came out incredibly fast, and our server was attentive and informative. My favorites were the Higos y Queso de Cabra and the Pintxo de Pollo y Chorizo. We ordered about seven different dishes and enjoyed them all -- the food was filling, fresh, and tasted homemade. One of my new favorites in KC.

This place is great if you love variety because you can order multiple tapas and share with the table, and/or just enjoy for yourself! I have tried their Paella Mariscos, Breakfast Paella, and one other, all were SO delicious! The shrimp were cooked especially well and the servings are generous enough for multiple helpings. Their sangria rojo is delicious, as are their wine offerings (I love a place that offers flights!) And they have great discounts each day of the week. If you like coffee, their Spanish coffee comes with a fiery performance by the servers - it was beautiful and so delicious! I really want to compliment their hospitality and attentiveness for the birthday brunch. We had a party of 8 and ordered a ton of tapas to share and the staff/kitchen timed their delivery perfectly along with entree delivery and drink refills so our table was pretty busy. Overall two great experiences, super delicious food, and lots of options so you can try something new with every visit! I'm already looking forward to going back
