First time here. I drive by this restaurant all the time and thought it was such a cute restaurant, kind of hidden away. It's a hidden gem. They have been operation for 70 years. I thought from the outside that it was an Italian restaurant but in actuality it is a Mexican restaurant. Decided to come here for dinner in a Wednesday night. We sat outside in a patio. It's a quaint little place. Staff is very nice. Quite a bit of different selection. I ordered their combo platter, called the Torreón. Food was okay. From what I hear they serve fish bowl size margaritas. We did not try any that night. Price reasonable. Overall, I would come back again,

I was craving Mexican and left craving Mexican. The service was fine but the food was just not great. I'm not sure how you mess up salsa but it had no flavor and was super watery. The margaritas were so sweet I'm not sure they even had alcohol in them. The tacos were soggy by the time they were put in front of me. The enchiladas weren't too bad and I did like that they put some queso on top but could have used more queso for sure because they were so dry. Our friends ordered the sopapillas and said they were super doughy unfortunately. I probably won't be back unfortunately.

Torreon is a cool little spot that is always filled with regulars. The staff makes everyone feel like family and that gives this place a special charm. Both times that I have gone I had to get the Gordita's because they are delicious corn biscuits filled with your meat of choice (I like the chicken best). They always keep your chips and salsa full which is very important at a Mexican restaurant!

Met some friends here for a Saturday night dinner. We ordered our margaritas, chat and waited for a table for about 20 minutes. The margaritas have a subtle kick and two on an empty stomach may due you in. We ate our share of chips and salsa but added an order of espinaca. The cheese dip was velvety and cheesy. Also like that their salsa is more medium vs mild. I ordered al la carte El Toro and a Chalupa but it comes with one side, which is nice. They were out of fideo so i opted for the rice. I liked both my items but wasn't really anything that would bring me back.

Great atmosphere and service. Love the food, I've been coming here for decades. For sure, the best maragaritas in town!

Secondly, when I went home, I was just expecting tacos, and found this wide array of grilled vegetables in my takeout order. Thirdly, several of the tacos were insanely delicious. To start off Rafael, at the front was very funny and made it very comforting. He made conversation with us and was very accommodating. We also received free chips and queso which was my daughter's favorite! The place itself is very calm and just seems like a chill spot to come for a quick eat. I ordered the steak tacos and veggie burrito (which Rafael fixed up for me on regular price with no extra charges for adding fries). We enjoyed our food and had a great time. Everything was delicious and Rafael did a great job on making this a good time for us. I wasn't really a big fan of their horchata but they had other good drinks available. I want to add that I feel like we started receiving special treatment because they realized we were yelpies so I don't know how service is on a regular day. Altogether, I'll be coming back here again!

The service was okay! Nothing super special but they answered questions and were helpful at the counter. This was our first time here so we ordered a few things to sample and share amongst ourselves. The first thing we had was the chips and queso, which I thought was a bit expensive at $7.99 but not too bad. The queso was fairly spicy but otherwise nothing special. I usually love queso so it surprised me how neutral I felt toward it! The chips were good, thin and light with a crispy bite to them. We unfortunately didn't get to try the salsa, noticing only at the end of our meal that there was a sauce bar near the counter! The birria tacos were also...okay. They were very juicy but not very uniquely flavored compared to everything else we tried. The meat was tender and I loved the texture of the tortilla, but didn't care for the massive handful of cilantro dropped on top of everything on the plate. The dipping liquid (birria sauce?) was alright! It was the same flavor as the tacos themselves so it didn't add much, but it definitely wasn't bad. The "main course" of what we ordered was a combo of soft chicken tacos, rice, and beans. The chicken tacos were unfortunately very cold by the time we got them which was a bit strange, as almost everything else was hot! They tasted good but I'm really not a fan of eating cold chicken, so I passed them off to my friends. The beans were just okay. There's really not much to say about them. The rice also left me disappointed! I typically devour Spanish rice. Not only was it cold, there were also odd, hard grains of rice mixed in. Not enough to get one every bite but enough that the experience of eating it was off-putting. It was also quite bland. Another note: While we were eating, there was this constant loud droning coming from the air conditioner. I'm a MASSIVE fan of air conditioning so I'm grateful it was on in the first place, but that is something they really need to get fixed. Two women seated near us actually got up and walked outside after commenting multiple times about how disturbing the noise was. My experience here was definitely a mixed bag but it leaned toward the positive, so we'll likely try them again! They had several other menu items I'd like to try, including some American fare that I found intriguing.

My build-your-own weekday lunch ($8) included choice of entrée, choice of beans and rice. It was served just ten minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me time to dig into the complimentary chips and mild (with a little kick), somewhat chunky salsa. The chicken tinga burrito was packed full of moist, white chicken and topped with a very flavorful sauce and cheese. I found the black beans to be pretty good, but the rice was somewhat dry and clumpy. The dining area had a central bar area, unique light fixtures, a mix of booths and tables, Mexican decor, Mexican background music (not too loud), a table-side cart for fresh guacamole and several backdrop spots for photos. I also noticed two rollup garage doors leading to the covered patio area. The food and drink menus included Mexican favorites, taco flights, taquito flights, margarita flights, 88 tequilas, meals for the kiddos and brunch (Sat & Sun 11AM - 2PM).
