Situated in the back of a Latin American grocery store, this hole-in-the wall restaurant serves some of the most delicious food I have had on this side of the border. I ordered the Carnitas a la Verde-- the meat was slightly crispy on the outside, exquisitely tender, with all the fat well rendered, impact with flavor. I would drive across the city for this dish alone, and no other carnitas I've eaten have ever come close. The corn tortillas that come with it are also phenomenal; I can't remember the last time I ate ones this authentic. Additionally, the rice and beans, as well as the chips and salsa, were all good. The restaurant was clean and surprisingly spacious. Service was polite and prompt. Las Americas is easily on my short lists of best restaurants in Cleveland, and best Mexican food anywhere.
