Located in the dusty-est of dusty strip malls in Bedford, Ohio, (about 15 miles south of Cleveland), Las America's is a combo Mexican-Peruvian restaurant with a small Hispanic grocery store attached. When I visited for a late lunch in September 2026, I had to walk around the back of the strip mall and enter the restaurant from the back. That was weird, but oh well! I didn't have to wait for a table and was seated in a solo diner table that was sticky to the extreme. Now that's how you know it's legit haha! Anyway, I wasn't too hungry but was hoping to get something nice and authentic. Okay, so I didn't get the most authentic item, but I tried! I got the chicken fajitas ($16) which provided me with enough food for lunch and dinner. I also recieved free chips and salsa. I needed to add salt to the chips. Now even though the food was good, the service was not. My water was filled once, 5 minutes after I ordered it, and never filled again until I walked up to the hostess table and asked for a refill. I also only got one flimsy napkin. And had to wait a REALLY long time for my bill. I couldn't afford anything on the Peruvian part of the menu, sadly. I wish they had some offerings under $15 on that part of the menu, even if it is a small portion of food. I do recommend Las Americas for those looking for authentic food and for those wishing to speak Spanish to their servers. I understand Spanish but have a mental block when speaking it from forming my own sentences. So I did enjoy practicing my Spanish a bit from listening to others! read more

Some might stay I am stingy with my five star reviews. I tend to reserve them for the rare experiences that truly blow me away, and wow, Las Americas did just that. Situated in the back of a Latin American grocery store, this hole-in-the wall restaurant serves some of the most delicious food I have had on this side of the border. I ordered the Carnitas a la Verde-- the meat was slightly crispy on the outside, exquisitely tender, with all the fat well rendered, impact with flavor. I would drive across the city for this dish alone, and no other carnitas I've eaten have ever come close. The corn tortillas that come with it are also phenomenal; I can't remember the last time I ate ones this authentic. Additionally, the rice and beans, as well as the chips and salsa, were all good. The restaurant was clean and surprisingly spacious. Service was polite and prompt. Las Americas is easily on my short lists of best restaurants in Cleveland, and best Mexican food anywhere. If you want authentic Mexican or Peruvian food, look no further than Las Americas. read more

What a hidden gem! This unassuming little restaurant is tucked in the back of a little grocery store (which has very fresh though limited produce, by the way). All the patrons seemed to be regulars and of Latin American decent, which is a great sign of authenticity! The ceviche was fresh, and I loved my dish. However, the food comes out sporadically (app came after some entr es, and one entree was about 10min after the middle ones). Servers are a bit hard to find/flag down, but they are friendly. The meats were a tad overcooked but the flavors were good. The portions are big. I would return! read more

The empanadas were beautifully plated. The al pastor plain tacos were ok. The Peruvian food seems to be where it's at. My husband nervously got the fried fish. He was astounded at how good it was especially with the pickled vegetable (we forgot what it was). Everyone at our table wanted to try it. Horchata was also good. Lots of room for big groups. We frequent this place at least 2 times a month. Food is outstanding and the service is good regardless of how busy they are. Don't go here for atmosphere, go here for the food. I lived in Ecuador for 14 years and visited Peru 5 times. I discovered and love ceviche among other Latin America treats. I must recommend Las Americas as a truly typical Peruvian neighborhood restaurant with outstanding ceviche that is sure to satisfy anyone familiar with great food served in typical simplistic settings. Absolutely disgusting customer service the girl with the braids and I know it was her just because I can tell from her voice and then nasty attitude. I got in person and I could feel coming from her is disgusting. The fact that she is a server at all whatsoever, the fact that she works at your restaurant at all whatsoever the fact that you have somebody like that working for you is disgusting. The fact that I called to just ask if I could pick up some salsa, but couldn't even speak because she just wanted to interrupt me over and over when I was telling her that the only reason I did order was for the salsa and then I couldn't even get to the portion of asking if I could pick some up later because she kept interrupting me and I don't like that. I don't appreciate that so I asked for a manager or an owner so that I could ask them instead I was met with well why do you want to talk to them? I clearly wanted to talk to them because she was getting a nasty attitude with me for absolutely no reason. I love Mexican food. I love my quesadillas. I love my chips and I love my salsa. I also spend hundreds of dollars just a week on Mexican food. I recently moved here and this is not going to be my choice of an establishment to spend my money at. And I do believe that that sucks for you. Food was amazing. Ordered the seafood trio on the Peruvian side of the menu. Super impressed with the tasty ceviche. What was even more impressive was the excellent service. We had a very large group and she was super attentive. The ambiance is very low key. A small market as a from and then you enter a glass door in the back that opens into a restaurant seating area. This is a really great place to get some very good and authentic Mexican Food.  Located in the back of a small plaza at the intersection of Rockside and Aurora Roads is a Latin Supermarket that has expanded from the previous space elsewhere in the plaza.  If you go through the market and find the glass doors you will find a barebones restaurant.  Not much in the way of decor, just some tables with some flat screen TVs.  Although they are in expanding the cafe area, having picked up a large space next door. The menu is actually much more extensive then you would expect, with Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, Fajitas and specialty dishes.  Although the place is simple, the dishes come out in huge portions, beautifully presented.    The food is excellent, I enjoyed most of the Shrimp dishes, which use a huge portion of nice sized grilled shrimp. Depending on dish you will get a small Portions are huge, especially for the price, the flavors are excellent and authentic. With my older brother, the carnivore supreme, in town after a trip together up from Florida I had to take him to lunch at Las Americas. He had the Carne Asada and declared that it was awesome; the portion was so huge he could not finish and he was incredibly impressed all around. We started with a side of guacamole to go with the chips and salsa and it was very nice, zippy and bright. The restaurant portion of Las Americas keeps getting better, they are working to make it more and more of a regular sit down restaurant, which is great as long as the food stays excellent. During the weekend they add to the menu with additional Peruvian food choices, so I am looking forward to trying them as well. You can not go wrong at Las Americas, stupendous authentic Latin food beautifully presented at reasonable prices with huge portions. Service is friendly if a bit basic and there is not much decor, but the food more then makes up for it. Go for it. read more

What a gem find, courtesy of Yelp lists. I love that the setup for Las Americas almost looks secret - you come in through a Latin grocery store, find your way through a door in the back, go through an hallway and finally enter this temple of food. Everything was absolutely delicious - the guacamole is a huge portion as you can see in the picture and is some of the best guacamole I've ever had in Northeast Ohio. The ceviche was out of this world, highly recommended. My wife had the shrimp with garlic and mushrooms and I had the tacos, and you don't need me to emphasize again that they were perfect and delicious, right? I loved the Lomo Saltado, and the surf and turf, ceviche mixto, and the service. I really enjoyed the selection of the grocery store, on the way in. If it looks closed, ITS NOT, there is a dining room area on the business side, but the entrance is on the other side by the road, behind the building. Huge dining area, and great selection. Excellent little bare bones establishment for a Latin American fix, with a Peruvian bent on Saturdays. Make sure to use the grocery store entrance on the opposite side of the strip mall, otherwise you'll be looking in sadly on a bunch of diners beyond a locked door. And to grab enough cash in advance. If ambience, fine silverware, and style are your thing, Las Americas will not be your destination. But this trade-off is made in favor of authenticity, pride in cooking, and price, you'll be heartily rewarded. I get the feeling that there's no "method" to ordering here. It's more of an aunty's house vibe where you grab a menu and sit wherever. But you do have to flag someone's attention to pick the menu items you want and of course, pay at the end. On Saturdays as previously mentioned, they have tilapia for Peruvian style ceviche, which is marinated in a sour bath of lemon-lime juice for maximum sour-packed punch. If you ask nicely (or bring a charming Peruvian lady with you), you can get other unlisted menu items like a Peruvian pesto pasta. But like any good Latina aunty's house, they do NOT skimp on portions. The kitchen is just feet away from the dining area, so everything came out super fresh. And in contrast to the bland walls, the food came out full of color, clean of presentation. Our Ceviche Peruana was a heaping platter of fish and potatoes with Huancaina sauce. We also got three tacos (shrimp, al pastor, and carnitas), and an entree dish of shrimp and beef. Each taco came double wrapped in soft corn shells, onions, and cilantro, and a little bowl of hot sauce. The shrimp was my favorite of the tacos as the others could have used a little more seasoning. The other meats were juicy and tender, but I have to say we couldn't get over the Ceviche. And because we loved the Ceviche so much, we ended up just spooning the soup onto literally EVERYTHING. No shame. For how full we got from just three dishes, it's amazing how little we paid. Less than Taylor Swift's new album paid. With those savings, you can go get yourself something nice from the store on your way out. read more

A decent spot for tacos if you live nearby, but not a must visit destination. Las Americas is a Latin market with a little no-frills restaurant attached. It's located in a plaza and currently there is some construction going on/front doors are blocked off so you'll need to enter from the side entrance and go through the market to get to the restaurant area (but you'll need to take your bill and pay at the market register). Prices are the lowest I have seen so far for tacos. Seemed like a busy place very popular with the local Hispanic/Latino population. I felt bad I took French in school and not Spanish, but no worries about communication as staff is friendly/patient and will help you out. I got four tacos and tried the chicken, pork, and steak for $1.99 and the shrimp for $2.19. I also got a side of the rice and beans for $2. Big meal for super cheap! However the beans are whole not refried like I prefer and the tacos are a little to plain for me as they come with just onions, cilantro, and house spicy salsa. No toppings bar, you get what they give you. I bought an avocado in the store for $1.19 to slice up and add to my tacos that I was taking to-go. About the toppings, they probably serve them the authentic way, it's likely American influence that has other places offering up a variety of toppings/sauces. Overall it was a satisfactory and filling meal, but nothing super tasty/full of flavor. (I still can't find a soft corn tortilla that I love). I did see some really good looking dishes that others where chowing down on so I will give this place another try and order something different. Been going here for 8 years, they had a smaller spot when I moved from California, but this was the closest I could get to authentic Peruvian food. Very authentic place... Have been here close to a dozen times now. The food rocks, the tacos, burrito poblano and quesadilla Al Pastor are my favorites. Shrimp tacos have been great every time but once. (We all have off days) Beans that come with burrito are sooo tender and silky smooth. Like they've been slow cooked, how you'd make at home. Rice is moist and tender/fluffy. Always seem to pick something up in the market too. If you like to cook it's a great place shop. read more
