So far this is the best tasting Mexican food we've had since moving here for work from California. So we've had some really good food there and have high expectations. We've tried other places and were very disappointed! We came upon this place and were pleasantly surprised. Finally some decent Mexican food! It has a nice ambiance with lots of booths and a bar on one side of the restaurant. The salsa is tasty, but needs more heat. So we add another HOT salsa to it. The chips were warm and tasty. I like the beans and rice. They had a good flavor. I usually get the 3 street tacos which is served with whole beans and rice and I ask for refried beans. Fajitas are good and also the ground beef enchilada. I will have to try something different on our next visit. So if you want good Mexican food and good service, come here! read more

This was my second time eating here at they did not disappoint. I had the Big Burrito Don Ramon with grilled steak. It was a huge burrito, was served in probably 10 minutes, and tasted great. Our server fast quick and attentive. It was also nice that the workers were helping each other, which made the service super fast. The space is decorated with traditional Mexican restaurant flair, including agave plant sculptures made of metal, which were really cool. read more

He then stated that he'd been there for ten years and that's how it always is. I didn't appreciate that because I typically enjoy my meals there but that wasn't okay. The food is generally good, but Cinco del Mayo was too much to deal with for their staff. The restaurant was packed to the gills, so the only real alternative to a 45-hour wait was take-out. They were overwhelmed! The fajitas were tough by the time that I arrived home. The refried beans were relatively bland. The quality was more than adequate. Understandable snafu... I see you next time. I am sure that the Don Ramon that I am familiar with will have returned!!! read more

Since my last review I have a different view. The young boy who served us before I guess doesn't work there. We have had great service and enjoy the food, drinks and atmosphere sine then. Sometimes one person can mess up your entire experience. Glad i gave a second try I now go weekly! read more

We go to Don Ramon's often. For us it has been very good. 1) We can always get in which is a big issue today without reservations 2) By far the friendliest staff of any restaurant we have been to on the East side 3) Quick service, but know when to let you take your time. Chips and salsa from the time your butt hits the seat. 4) Good food! OK this place is not a fine dining experience,but when we want Mexican, we know it will be good. read more

Went here with my girl today. We normally go to the one in parma hts. We love the food normally. Went here since the one by us is closed for maintenance. Tacos were not warm at all and tasted stale in the taco shell and tortilla chips. Won't be back trust me read more

This around lunch time. Not busy at all. I sat at the bar for 5 minutes before anyone showed up to take the order. Waited 25minutes before anyone checked to see if I needed anything. Don Ramon serves a necessary spot in the dining scene for Mexican food in that it's appealing to a wide audience. Basic Americanized Mexican food (not a slam, just my observation) served in a pleasant, clean location off Richmond Road in Warrensville Heights. The restaurant is clean, and the service is incredibly fast and friendly. There are more authentic Tex Mex style places in the area, but if you're looking for more mainstream, good quality, and reasonably priced food, this is the place. I highly recommend the chicken soup. It's made by the bowl by pouring delicious, hot broth over fresh vegetables (avacado, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini ). Fresh pulled chicken breast will be swimming in the broth for you to enjoy. Killer soup indeed. Try it sometime and let me know what you think. Request a few lime wedges to squeeze into the soup. Nice atmosphere, clean and inviting. The chips and salsa came quick and they brought more quickly. Drink orders were taken quickly waiter was friendly and accommodating. I had the steak fajitas and they were good could have used a little seasoning on the meat but still very good. My sister in law had a steak and cheese burrito and said it was good. My brother had mexican chicken stew. Stew was different but pretty decent also. Friendly staff all the way around. Was a good experience and I would return. read more

Yikes. Flavor was run of the mill American Mexican which is fine. My food came out way too hot, and by the time it hit the table was already burnt. The flavor of the dish was decent but still bland. Love Don Ramon! We are getting weekly takeout to increase restaurant traffic during Covid 19 and don Ramon was the lucky winner for this week. Got the combo number 6 for takeout: enchilada, taco, rice and beans! Soo delicious. Our takeout order came with loads of chips with salsa. Evidently, this is a family owned Mexican restaurant. The man handling our takeout order was polite - the restaurant appeared very clean and good for large parties. We will be back for sure! read more

Not quite sure why I'm giving this place only three stars, but I cannot think of a reason to go much higher. The food was good - tasty and served fairly quick. The staff was ok - not the friendliest, but I've had much much worse! Parking wasn't a problem, but there were not many spots close by - so depending on when you go - that could be an issue! Great authentic Mexican food and great atmosphere. I have been here plenty of times with large parties and Don Ramon is always on point. The food is always hot , fresh , and flavorful. I always get the Taco Loco which is a huge taco with beef, chicken, steak, and veggies. It is always good. I never had any problems with the service they are always fast and polite. My favorite restaurant!! This is an incredibly affordable and quick Mexican restaurant. Service is impeccable, and every server is equally great! The complimentary warm tortilla chips and salsa are one of my favorite aspects of Don Ramon's. I have yet to try a dish here that I didn't like! Salsa and chips some of the best I have ever had. We shared the chicken chimichangas they were great especially with the queso sauce all over it. The refried beans on the plate were the best I have ever tasted. We then indulged in sharing the fried ice cream it was again the best I have ever had. Really great food! We stopped here Friday night. They weren't too busy aside from a Christmas party going on. We all agreed that the food was perfect and made quickly. Beautifully decorated and super clean (thanks to recently opening), Don Ramon's has pretty standard Mexican fare. I especially enjoyed that the complimentary chips were hot and the salsa was spicy and flecked with fresh cilantro. The menu was pretty hefty, which made choosing a meal somewhat challenging. I ordered the chicken soup, which is my default at Mexican restaurants when I'm overwhelmed. It was a decent version, however it was spiced mildly for my taste. The soup benefitted from adding in salsa, but that shouldn't be necessary for it to be enjoyable. I probably wouldn't order the soup again, but I would return to try some of their other dishes. The lobster fajitas sounded especially intriguing. I went with my dad on Father's Day and really liked that they were giving $10 gift certificates to all fathers that visited the restaurant that day...nice touch. read more

This is probably the best Mexican Restaurant in Cleveland. Every single dish I've ordered is mind-blowing-ly good. My favorites include the Nachos with chorizo and several other meats, the burrito norteno, and the burrito California. The complementary chips and salsa are probably the best I've had (still there are variations between the salsa batches). Let's not forget about the portions... HUGE and very inexpensive. If you go for the margaritas, they are large, they are inexpensive and they have all the kick you want in them. The staff is helpful, very sweet and interested in making sure you have a good time. Still, if you go during a particulary slow time, you may have to witness them chatting or wrapping napkins/silverware nearby. Still, they try to keep it down, and if this bothers you I'm sure they can arrange to do that stuff later, because I have to emphasize they are really awesome people. read more

Food is very bland and they have roaches. I've been to quite of bit of Mexican restaurants and I honestly have to say this was not my favorite. I was expecting a great impact of flavor but that wasn't the case. The service was decent for the most part, but when we were sitting at the bar and saw a Roach crawl across the table I was completely disgusted.
