    Mexican75

I visited Lopez on 4/19/2025, and it was subpar. It's very small inside but there are too many tables. Myself and my cousin sat near the window but had little elbow room because there were too many tables next to us. Even getting to the table was tight. The hostess sat a party of 6 next to us and we were pretty much playing musical chairs just to get in and out to use the restroom. The large party next to us was not pleased by how tight it was. The food was also very subpar, I had the queso as an appetizer and my cousin had the corn fritters. Both were very bland and basic. I then ordered the Mexican 75 because I explained to the waitress that I'm a French 75 person so she definitely recommended the Mexican 75. I was very underwhelmed by how watered down it was. I think ordered the beef tacos and I was very underwhelmed. There wasn't a flavor profile. Very bland and no flavor complexity... just basic and bland. Overall, I would recommend or go out of my way to try this place. I would recommend they take away two tables on the bottom half of the restaurant and increase the flavor profiles of their entrees.

We were so excited to try this new and restored restaurant based on the newspaper articles and hype. There were certainly some good highlights but also some misses. Starting with the small parking lot but they have free valet that is on it so no worries about the parking. Interior is small and quaint however it's surprisingly bright inside. We were expecting a darker, sexier feel so we're surprised at the bright ambiance. Tables mounted to the walls were cool so no wobbly tables or hitting of your shins. Definite plus! Hostess and busser were fast, kind, and helpful. Waitress was not... young, not helpful, and a slow on water refill. I have the cilantro soap gene and she couldn't tell me what didn't have it. Then what I ordered that she confirmed didn't have it, sure did...which annoys me. Received a recommendation about the scallop tostada which wouldn't normally be on my list but it was pretty good although the guac has a lot of cilantro. Lots of scallop and good flavors. Waitress did recommend the stuffed pepper to which it had a nice presentation and filling flavor for a veggie dish says my husband, also lots of cilantro. Got the smoky enchilada with chicken which the waitress recommended over cheese which was a miss for me. Good portion so not over stuffed but nothing special Mexican rice, Smokey nothing special refried beans, and boring enchiladas with more of a mole flavor instead of smoky spice. Needed the hot sauce! Chicken has very little flavor. Bourbon fizz drink tasted like no alcohol so wouldn't recommend but the rumrita was the highlight. It's sweet, spicy, sour, excellent. Should be in a short glass or ice strained out for the tall glass but flavor was great. We joked that we would be back for the rumrita and then order Chinese for pick up next door. We are interested in coming back to try the tacos so we will give it another shot. I just expected more and think they are capable. Better luck next time.

Okay, I really, really wanted this to be outstanding... but my biggest pet peeve is LETTUCE! Come on, save the bagged lettuce for Applebees. MAKE ME A FRESH SALAD! That's all I ask, well!? Also, what year is this??? Where is the vegan/vegetarian options? Nicole our server was perfect and of course I loVe Brandy from Pony boys. I recommend this place just give a second to figure it out.

We discovered Amigos a couple years ago, when seating was very limited, but they recently expanded and the decor is more inviting and authentic. We've tried a lot of things on this menu and have never been disappointed. Our food has always been fresh and plentiful, served with a smile. Two things I can ecstatically recommend: their house guacamole and their margaritas. Their hearty and bold guacamole is made fresh to order right at your table and it's become our favorite guacamole. We love their mango margaritas. We have found chunks of mango in ours, and make certain to always get the rims coated with tajin because they use tamarind to get the spice to stick to the rim--so tasty! This is a really enjoyable restaurant we always look forward to visiting!

The chicken tacito appetizer was just okay, but they will make fresh made guac at your table while you watch. That quac was superb. We made it disappear quickly with nachos. The barria tacos were excellent and the sauce they make for them is delectable. The cole slaw was different and delicious. Wasn't expecting that. The torta was superb. Great food, great service. We'll be back!

It wasn't our first choice, but it ended up being a decent find--especially if you're in the mood for creative tacos. We arrived well after the lunch rush and there were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant, so it was fairly quiet. We ordered chips and salsa to start, but unfortunately they never made it to the table. When our food arrived and I asked about them, our waitress admitted she had forgotten to write it down. The food also seemed to take a bit longer than expected considering the restaurant wasn't busy. Because of that, the service was a little underwhelming. That said, the tacos themselves were the highlight of the visit. I ordered three of the smaller tacos, but they packed a lot of flavor. My picks were The Yoda, The Love Shack, and The Filthy Fajita--all creative and really well done. Small in size, but definitely big on flavor. Overall, the food was solid, but the service could use some improvement. If I lived in the area, I could definitely see this being a good happy hour spot to grab tacos and drinks with friends.

This time I was inspired to look for a Mexican ceviche. In my most recent adventure, I visited Taqueria La Loma in Akron and very much enjoyed my meal. After ordering from the counter, I sat down and was quickly given some fresh chips and salsa to snack on. Although these were delicious, I probably should have passed on this because what I ordered was much more that I could eat alone. I was impressed by the flavor and value of the Mixed (shrimp and octopus) Ceviche, and would absolutely suggest it to anyone. I'd never had octopus ceviche before, and was concerned about chewiness, but was pleasantly surprised at how tender it was. I assume the shrimp ceviche is similarly good. I also ordered 3 birria tacos. I found there was maybe slightly too much cheese in the taco, but the tasty consomé dip was impressive. To wash it all down, I had one of the best horchata drinks I've ever had in my life. It was sooo good and a must-have. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the food came out quickly. The restaurant was basic, but clean, and looks like the kind of authentic place you'd want to go for a casual but tasty Mexican food meal. I will be recommending this place to my co-workers in the Akron office, and will go back again next time I'm in town.

One of the best parts of a chimichanga is the deep fried exterior and crunch. Here they smother the chimichanga in cheese so there was no crunch to it.
