Worst service i have received. Cactus Jacks main attraction for parents is the playground so before heading out called and asked how the playground area was looking. The hostess said " we aren't busy at all". Once we arrived to location hostess said area was reserved and we won't be able to get a table around the area either. We absolutely loved this place!!! We came on a Sunday and went straight up to the bar to eat and drink. (We prefer bar seating.) Anyway, we were promptly greeted by this bubbly bartender named Ruth. She then proceeded to make us the most amazing old fashioneds with Buffalo Trace. * The ice cubes are the solid blocks and have the Cactus Jacks decal on it! How cool is that!! The aesthetic is great but service and food could use improvement. Shrimp were not de-veined, and kids Mac is similar to Kraft Mac n cheese. For the prices, I did expect better. There was a large wait staff presence, and the few we interacted with were kind but also seemed distracted amongst each other- most were standing around blocking multiple walkways and loitering during the entire time we were there while tables were not set for whole sections where people were already being seated. Again, the aesthetic is very fun and unique; the kids play area is totally fenced in, and wide enough for bigger kids to have space to run while littles could play and crawl. Big, noisy place. I ordered chicken parmesan. It took less than 10 minutes for my order and one bowl of gumbo. Pasta sauce was a cheap bottled tomato sauce. New place in Mont Belvieu. Ambiance was great. Very nice rustic decor. Comfortable seating. Service was okay as far as the servers go as the server did an outstanding job but the hostesses were not very friendly. They don't greet you or say bye when you leave as in many nice places such as this. Food was good overall. The best part is the wildflower margarita made with dragronfruit. The cactus burger was dry. French fries very yummy and crispy. As far as the oven brick pizza goes very delicious, you must try. The charred broccoli was well seasoned and very flavorful as was the mac and cheese. They are very skimpy with the mac and cheese side though, they could adjust to a bit more than three tablespoons for the price.
