Nice dinner with family. Hostess gave us option of booth or table. We sat at a group sized table and were given tableware wrapped in napkins and menus including the adult beverage selection. Our waitress came right over with chips and salsa for the table and did a wonderful job handing all the beverage orders flying her way. She verified the order before going off to fill it. Iced tea and lemonade can be ordered w/flavored syrups. They serve Pepsi brand products. The menu has a lot: apps, entree salads, chili, sandwiches, burgers, tacos and dinner entrees. The burger was good, fries too. Steaks were a mixed bag, some were fatty, others lean. You choose corn or flour shells for your tacos. They offer several side dishes - choose two with your entree order. The side salad is an iceberg lettuce bag mix w/cabbage and carrots that is chopped small. They add chopped tomato, cucumber slices, crouton, cheese and egg. Dressing of choice on the side. Dinners were filling and most weren't able to finish. I read other reviews it had a three star rating. I Was staying next door and the hotel said the food was good l. Being tired I walked over and glad I did. First the service was very good my server Sabrina was friendly and helpful. They had a nice Selection of craft beer I had the golden spike which was very good. Three stars is maybe a little generous... I've been here before, it's been awhile. I couldn't remember how it was. So, I'm leaving a review for next time! Super convenient if you're staying at the hotel or the others nearby. Service was good. I think they've spruced it up since I was here last? It's still very basic decor - think diner... The food is VERY overpriced and really, not very good. They have a lot of 'Mexican' / Southwest items - it is very much 'American' Mexican food - nothing 'Southwest' about it, in my opinion/experience. The salsa was more like marinara... Fajitas were laughable - minimal meat and peppers, small amounts of sides (sour cream, cheese, guacamole)... I did get a side salad too - and the salad dressing was great! Maybe the burgers are decent? Note to my future self - eat before you get to the hotel, since you know you aren't going to go back out... oh also, several reviews mentioned an automatic tip - that was not a thing on my visit. read more

The help is really nice the only thing keeping them open is probably the hotel guests who don't know any better. I read the reviews and was tired from driving and I planned on ordering tacos I figured those would be hard to mess up. My first clue was there were no vehicles in the parking lot I should have took heed. I ordered the tacos carne asada, well the meat rather interesting and it tasted like a barbecue sauce. I talked to the waitress who was very polite and she said that was their pork I explained the difference between Carnitas and carne asada and told her things were fine. The food although was unique did have calories and my body needed nourishment so it was all good. Maybe a hamburger or a grilled cheese would have been a better choice. I only came here for the breakfast buffet since it was free for the hotel guests. Overall, pretty decent breakfast with rotating menu options for the eggs (scrambled, omelet) and protein (sausage patties, sausage links, bacon). Oddly enough, they consistently kept running out of coffee cup lids for their to go containers. Sometimes you could get lucky and go into the hotel and grab a lid, but I think everyone else started doing it. Coffee lids are a hot commodity apparently haha. Anyway, I didn't personally go to their lunch/dinners, but it looks like they have daily specials. My work colleagues said they were actually quite good and decently priced. read more

It came out room temperature and had the texture that it was double heated, the scoop of beans and rice or micro to say the least my wife ordered a chicken salad which she was happy with but if you're traveling from California and you expect a quality Mexican meal anywhere I'm telling you from experience you're not gonna find it the Mexican food I would not eat here again The breakfast was not good. Cheese whiz between the eggs. and the bacon was almost raw. The sausage that came out the next day was very rubbery. Admittedly we were captives due to studying in the hotel next door but still, the entire dining experience was awful. The service was good which is about the only quality I can be positive on. My companion had the $20 Fajita plate and I went with a dinner salad and wings. The Fajitas did come out sizzling but there might have been 5 pieces of meat and a 1/2 cup of veggies. Certainly not worth $20 even in this economy. My wings were slightly better than "send back". They certainly weren't worth ordering again. The decor is deplorable. White tile, cafeteria style booths and about a plain and uninspiring ad you can get. The saving grace of our evening was the bartender who was able to conjure up a couple of Skinny Margheritas. Really, they force a tip? Yes, they do. That was my first dislike. I had a simple order and it was enough food for two days for me(I don't eat a lot at one sitting). They delivered quickly, almost too quickly. The food was tasty, I ordered the Cajun Chicken Fettuccine. It was very salty. Tasty at first but overwhelming salt towards the end. The fact that it is right next door to my hotel is super convenient. Based on the salt in the food and the overwhelming quickness of the food being delivered I can't go more than four stars. Maybe I'll go to the restaurant, maybe... most likely not. Update 11/22/2019 - So, laziness prevailed and rather than drive 10 minutes away I succumbed to the easy access of food and walked to the restaurant last night and tonight. Last night I had asada tacos, the meat wasn't marinated and the pico de gallo had zero jalapeño in it, I had to really douse the tacos in taco sauce to get any flavor. To their credit the meat wasn't chewy. Tonight I ordered boneless chicken wings. I only ordered six because I wasn't really starved and was preferring a glass of wine. The "wings" would have been better if they weren't lukewarm when brought to me. The pieces of celery could have been a bit better, too. I'm a fan of some chain restaurants and I really am not picking on this place, I was just hoping to find something they serve that would be worth raving about. The food was good: my daughter and husband got the carne asada burrito and the only complaint was from my daughter (it was a bit spicy), but my husband found that it had really good flavor with a nice spicy kick. My son and I wanted ribs, so we shared a full rack and really liked the spicy barbecue sauce. The sweet barbecue sauce had good flavor, but we both preferred the spicy. The only complaint that I ordered a beer and it came to the table in a can, cold, but not super cold. Poured it into a cold glass and it was better. Just wish it was a super cold beer.... We're traveling across country from Washington State headed towards Tennessee. We stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Express which is right across the parking lot from Cactus Reds. We called in our order for pickup. They will deliver it to your room but they charge you a $2 fee and 15% gratuity. Needless to say, we opted to take the few extra steps and picked up the food on our own. I ordered the Cactus Reds specialty menu item, the pot roast. It came with your choice of a soup or salad and included a dinner roll. I opted for the salad with a white wine vinaigrette dressing. Once I got back to my room, I realized they forgot our dinner rolls. I walked back over and ended up having to wait a couple minutes. I wasn't thrilled about that considering I had hot food waiting for me in the room and now, it would be cold once I got back. Thankfully, the food was so delicious that I didn't care if it wasn't as hot once I returned to my room. The pot roast was tender and smothered in gravy with carrots and onions. The perfect roast combination if you ask me. It came with delicious steamed vegetables and a side item of your choice, I chose mashed potatoes and gravy. The dinner roll was nice and dense and it came with this delicious sweet butter. The white wine vinaigrette dressing for my salad was a sweet, light, topping but it had a small kick to it. After my experience, I would recommend this place to others. The only thing that prevented five stars was the lack of accuracy in our order. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant ever since and never had a bad meal or a ride server. Last night was the first time I haver ever ordered off of the breakfast menu and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the meat platter and all three meats along with the eggs and potatoes were cooked just right. The quantities of the food were just the right size for my appetite and I didn't go away hungry. My wife had the shrimp tacos and they were cooked very well and the quantities we're of good size. Never had our drinks refilled, my daughters chicken strips were 100% RAW, never cleared one plate and the food sucked. Horrible. We get there and the "hostess" Freedom says that there isn't enough room to sit a party of 6. When we walked in there is a side table that sits about 10 people comfortably. It wasn't offered to us. So my husband and I went there on a date night Friday night. (6/3/22) 5pm Our server was super sweet, the food was out fast and decent. I probably wouldn't have any complaints if the manager wasn't literally screaming at his employees and stopping around the restaurant our entire visit. There was only two other couples in the restaurant so it was very quite. His behavior was so unprofessional and it was incredibly awkward. The poor employees.. He also didn't seem to mind that he was right by the dining room and in eyesight of all of us screaming at a young female employee about how she's "NOT GOING TO WORK MORE THAN FIVE DAYS A WEEK!" She meekly responded that I couldn't ever hear her and he yelled back "WELL SHE'S HERE NOW! YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANYMORE HOURS! SHE DOES THINGS AT THE HOTEL DURING THE WEEK! WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY!" Obviously I have no idea what any of that even means but it was loud He honestly scared me and this poor girl was young. I would have got up and left right then had my husband not already started eating his 23$ steak. She did not deserve to be treated that way. Two other employees were standing there while he was yelling too. They all looked so embarrassed. After screaming at them he proceeded to stop around the restaurant, slamming menus on the counter and just being aggressive with a nasty look on his face. Like I was so disgusted at his behavior and the employees just resumed as normal like they were used to it. What a terrible environment to work in. The food was pretty good. At the suggestion of our server, I got the baby back ribs. And my wife got the Carne Asada Fries, that the server also recommended. Talk about being hooked up on food, we had to take home most of our meals. They give you a lot of food! The ribs were nicely smoked and great tasting. Our drinks never went empty.
