    Lobsta Fries
    Aubrey F.

The picture of my Lobsta Fries looks way better than they were. Unfortunately these were a huge disappointment. They are fries toss in garlic parsley butter and allegedly topped with lobster, lemon garlic aioli, and old bay. Very greasy and quickly became soggy. The lobster was looking and tasting like snow crab. Very small and shredded pieces. Would not recommend or come back.

We stayed at a nearby hotel and this place was super convenient. We were set right away when we visited the chairs are a little uncomfortable in the outdoor patio. Are we just did a great job keeping our drinks full and making sure that we didn't need anything we tried the bang bang shrimp and the lobster fries. Both were really good suggestions and great shareable items.

Classic burger and fish tacos - both good.

Came for an early dinner - the Reef actually has parking which is nice, but the lot is pretty small and gets full quick around mealtimes. The dive bar side is definitely a dive-vibe kind of place with indoor and outdoor seating. Bar was full when we got there. Lots of Regulars. We came to eat so waited a few minutes for a table. Dining area is also small so can get busy. We also noticed lots of groups staying to chat and have a drink after eating so I imagine waits can be long. Had a classic burger and fish tacos. Both very good. Server and service were also good. Food came quickly. Ambiance was loud so if you are looking for a place to chat with friends - it may be tough to shout above the groups who assemble for early meals (lots of seniors).

This place is solid. My wife and I have been here for breakfast multiple times and have never had a bad experience. Menu items I can recommend include the Cinnamon Roll, Classic Eggs Benedict, Crab Cake Benedict, and the pancakes. My one complaint is the omelettes don't come with toast. This is a minor complaint and won't impact my rating. Service is friendly, and prices are reasonable. Most of the patrons are regulars, so you know it is legit.

Visiting from Jacksonville and wish there was a Reef bar and grill near me. Service was excellent. Shout out to Erin and Karen. We only ate breakfast there for the two days we went there. I had a breakfast called the Irish. Poached egg and chorizo over a English muffin. With jalapenos. It was excellent. We will be back to try lunch and dinner. By the way there own bottled hot sauce is amazing.

A relay place with awesome anytime during the day. The grits bowls are amazing. Has that local fee and definitely has regular patrons. It was next to our hotel, so very convenient. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Fun atmosphere with bright colors. Can get crowded at night. Indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

We ate breakfast at The Reef twice during our stay on Madeira Beach, and it quickly became a favorite. It's close, easy, and very affordable from our hotel -- no wonder the staff recommended it so highly! The service was fantastic both times, and the atmosphere had such a welcoming, laid-back vibe. Every meal we tried was delicious -- there wasn't a single plate anyone didn't enjoy. The Elvis pancakes are a must-try (seriously amazing!), and the biscuits and gravy hit the spot too. If you're looking for a great breakfast spot with friendly service, good prices, and food that doesn't disappoint, The Reef is absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommend!

Yelp led me here on a trip with friends for dinner:) I ordered the steak fajitas because they could make them gluten free without the tortillas. They were delicious and were the perfect dinner. This restaurant is in a good location across from the beach and we sat right away and got our food pretty quick.

I came in for dinner while on a trip with friends. The vibe of the restaurant was very laid-back and chill. It felt like a local spot, and I could tell the people at the bar were regulars. I ordered the grilled fish tacos, and the food was great. The portion size was just right and kept me full for the rest of the night.

    Mussels appetizer was very good

It was our first night in Madeira beach. We wanted seafood within walking distance and found this place. Very tropical beach decor, child friendly, families were at the tables eating. At the bar was a crowd of locals and tourists. Nice atmosphere, cheerful vibe. The server was good. We sat at the bar ordered beer, mussels in red sauce, I had she crab bisque which was thick and creamy with a decent amount of visible crab in it. My husband got shrimp tacos w fries. Their fries were delicious too. The red sauce w the mussels were very good, with two big pieces of Italian bread to dip.

BBQ CINNAMON ROLL! Just do it. Don't question it. Yes it sounds weird. No I don't understand it. but it's AMAZING!!!! Service is always good and the other food is great as well. But the BBQ cinnamon roll is one of a kind!

We ordered dinner shortly after 11 p.m. on a Thursday, so I was pleased to see our smash burger and blackened-chicken Caesar wrap arrived hot and fresh off the grill. My side dish-tater tots-were golden brown and crispy. Delicious! Service was fast and friendly. Thank you!

Great place to sit at the bar, chat with the locals, enjoy a Bloody Mary, and order breakfast. Today was the three-shot loaded Bloody Mary garnished with salami, Swiss cheese, and an olive to start our Sunday Brunch. I had The Handheld Reef - two eggs & cheese on Texas toast with bacon and home fries. My guy ordered The Reef with eggs, bacon, grits, and toast. Both were delicious. The Reef is a casual dining restaurant with great in-house prepared breakfast, lunch & dinner. It feels like Florida with locals and tourists keeping the place busy. There is plenty of inside/outside bar seating and tables. The staff is friendly, the menu has something for everybody, and we always see people we know and often meet new folks. There is on-site free patking, too.

I'm basically a regular here. I even bought the t-shirt. Fair warning though, it mysteriously…read moreshrinks after a few washes (or maybe the food here is just that good at making my waistline expand? The jury is still out). I genuinely like this place, but my latest visit was a gentle reminder that even the greats have their off nights. We grabbed a spot on the outdoor patio, which is great because there are tons of TVs playing sports to keep you entertained. And you're going to need that entertainment, because the vibe this particular evening was heavily operating on "island time." I started to wonder if our server had to physically row to an island to get our order. It was a very long wait just to be acknowledged, and an even longer wait for drinks. Funniest part? My beer arrived well before my water. I was incredibly parched, and while I appreciate a cold brew, I didn't exactly want to shotgun my beer just to survive the drought. The tap water finally made its grand, triumphant entrance a solid 20 minutes after we sat down. When it came time to order, we met the Upcharge Enthusiast. Here's the deal: burgers come with rice and beans by default. If you want Bob's fries, that's a $2 upcharge. I tried to shoot for the stars and upgrade to onion rings. The response? A firm, almost offended no. "Those are an appetizer," I was informed. Honestly, our server seemed to derive a bizarre, villainous amount of joy from telling me things were an upcharge. Hey, whatever brings you happiness, just take my two dollars and make the fries happen. After the drinks took a serious scenic route, the food came blazingly fast out of the kitchen, but when it finally arrived...wow. The burgers here are absolute behemoths. You literally have to unhinge your jaw like an anaconda to take a bite. I have to admit, they are undeniably amazing. One bite almost makes you forget you spent the first half of the evening contemplating drinking water out of a patio planter. Pro-tip: Bring paper money! They give you a nice little discount if you pay in cash. Overall, I still really like this joint. Every restaurant is allowed to have a rough service night every now and then, and this just happened to be one of them. I'll definitely be back although I just might pre-hydrate in the parking lot next time.
