I was kind of disappointed that this restaurant was not A LOT better...based on what I always hear from others. I had heard they had the best margaritas in Houston- definitely NOT true. They were cheap so that was nice...but they were really sweet, and I could barely taste the tequila. The food was just ok....maybe it is just what I chose. But, I was not that hungry so I just had the chicken quesadillas. They were not bad, but I have had a lot better. My boyfriend got the Tacos al Carbon and said they were good, but when we got home he felt sick the rest of the night... I have been for Sunday brunch before and that is really good...HUGE buffet lines with everything you can imagine...normal breakfast food, a line of mexican dishes, fruit, desserts and much more. Make sure you come hungry. I would definitely come back for brunch. I have also been here for a private party in the back room. That was nice...big open room and private bar and the service was good. Cadillac Bar has been around for years, and for some reason I just don't go there that often. With the abundant numbers of Mexican restaurants in town, I guess I usually just go where ever is closes when I have the craving. A group of girls and I came to Cadillac this past weekend before a night out to celebrate the bachelorette in the crew. We had a large group, which they accommodated nicely and our servers were great a keeping the drinks flowing! The food was decent for Tex-Mex and the drinks were tasty, but I would say that's pretty standard these days. Cadillac Bar has improved over the years, and I feel they are trying to attract a more upscale crowd (as other patrons did not like our loud party very much). I've been here exactly 2 times. Once for happy hour and once for brunch. And both times, I had an AWESOME experience. The food is delicious. The service is always good. I would absolutely recommend the Brunch fo sho. Althought super crowded, the Brunch has sooooo much food. Two rooms worth in fact. Pretty boring and bland. Went with some coworkers during lunch. We got the usual chips with green and red salsa served to the table. Everyone agreed that both were not good. Green dip had no flavor and the red dip was incredibly watery. We also got the chili con queso. There was maybe three pieces of meat in there. The dip itself was very bland. I would go a far as to say velveta is better. For my meal, I got the Aztec Enchiladas. My coworkers got the vegetable fajitas and the seafood relleno. Again, no one was impressed. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. No complaints there. Most of the items on their lunch menu are 10-14 bucks and you really can't get anything for less than $12 on the regular menu. Cadillac Bar isn't my cup of tea. First off, I don't care for buffets but I didn't realize it was a buffet when I agreed to eat there. I was with a local resident who didn't know my preference so I just went with despite wanting to leave immediately shortly after arriving. The first thing I noticed was that the place was packed. I hoped that meant that the food would be good but that isn't always the case. The restaurant seemed to just two large rooms (possibly a converted warehouse) with cheap tables set up. Definitely not the lap of luxury or anything. The place was extremely crowded so we ended up waiting a half an hour or so. There were no soft service so there was nothing to absorb the noise. Therefore the noise level was extremely high. I wasn't thrilled about that but I put on a brave face and sucked it up. The buffet stations were located all over the restaurant. That was challenging because you had to weave between seated patrons to make your way to the food. The stations were separated by food types (fruit, American cuisine, Mexican cuisine, pastries) The food seemed to be fresh and I did notice employees refilling the stations frequently. I only had the American breakfast. I had pancakes, fruit, sausage, bacon and potatoes. I wasn't impressed with it the food I had on my plate so I didn't bother trying the Mexican breakfast. The food was below average at best. I ate it because it was paid for but it definitely wasn't excited about it. The other thing I noticed was the lack of air condition. It was extremely hot the day I visited for Sunday brunch and the restaurant was somewhat warm. I wasn't sweating but I definitely wouldn't call the place cool either. I attributed that to be due to the fact that the place was more than likely a warehouse previously. I most definitely wouldn't return to Cadillac Bar if given the choice. read more

Came here with a big group of 24 (wedding rehearsal dinner). The head honcho in charge (not sure his name but very cool Mexican guy from Chicago) chatted us up while we waiting for the rest of our party. He also was good enough to explain their rewards program that managed to get us a ton of rewards points. So excellent service on his end. I won't say that my water glass never went empty but on the whole, for a party of our size on a Friday night no less, waitstaff was pretty on top of it. Food was so-so. I had the taco salad with the steak and it was huuuge. You really can't mess up a taco salad so I had no complaints. Husband had the tacos which were fine (fine, not great). Ambiance is like any bar/restaurant - dark, crowded and LOUD. Especially in the little semi-private room they put us in, I could barely hear the person across the table from me. On the whole, it's not like you'd come to Cadillac for authentic Mexican food - it's a chain afterall but some margaritas and a casual night out, it cuts the mustard for me. read more

I was here once before and the place was super busy for brunch and I always recommended it to friends who do not live in Houston when they visit. Why? The food is good and the price is super reasonable because you get so much food. You will be able to get fresh made to order omelets, fresh pancakes, waffles, aqua frescas, fresh fruit, lots of breakfast food, gorditas, tacos, enchiladas, carne guisada and so much more... You have to purchase drink for drink as they do not offer pitchers or bottomless drinks. Margaritas are good as well. Today while I was there the place was more than half empty and I was shocked. Where was everyone? No clue...but this saved everyone in the building as the food was super fresh and fully stocked without having to wait for more food to be made because there were not tons of people around breathing down your neck because they want the last waffle...lol read more

This is for the weekend Brunch - food was quite good, both variety and quality. They put a lot of thought into the buffet style, there were so many different smaller tables of food that lines never had a chance to form, even when the place was at capacity. I have two reasons this isn't a 5/5; drinks and density. A good Bloody Mary is as much art as ingredients, and asking people to make their own likely lowers the quality of the drink. It's a thing few do as well as a bartender, that's why I order them when I go out. The second is density. I'm surprised there weren't more spills with how close the tables were placed. Brunch is supposed to be relaxed, and with how much of an obstacle course it was to get to/from your table, it detracted from the experience. I felt bad for the people who were seated by the buffets, having a constant stream of people walking behind them. All in all a solid experience. Came here before a show for the Sunday Brunch buffet on a whim. Had no expectations for the place. Just really wanted to check out the bloody mary bar. Pros: 1) Super nice bartender who allowed us a small plate while we waited at the bar for a table during brunch service. 2) Cool concept with the Bloody Mary Bar, especially since me and my friend have differing taste preferences on bloody mary mixes. 3) Lots of food choices. My husband and I eat here often and have never been disappointed with the food. Service is generally very good, and we've never had to wait long for a table. Atmosphere is okay and the place is clean. Everything we've eaten we have enjoyed - FOOD IS AMAZING! Special shout out for the tortilla soup! Possibly the best tortilla soup I've ever eaten! My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner in June '13 at Cadillac Bar, and everything was smooth, reasonably priced, and delicious. We also ate at their regular restaurant a couple of times prior, and always had great service and food. As for Cadillac Bar's party shack you can rent... the woman who managed our party (I believe her name was Gloria) was fantastic. The Mrs. and I were busy with work, but Gloria's flexibility allowed us to do everything by phone/email/fax all the way until the day of the event. We ordered a BBQ package (everyone was coming from out of state, so ya gotta show them Texas BBQ!) and all of our guests loved the food. There were tons of options available, and they even accommodated some of our guests' unique needs (e.g. vegetarians). The cash bar was fair-priced and the bartenders were nice and quick with the drinks. The servers were always one step ahead, replacing buffet platters before they got too low. Even if you're not renting a banquet room, Cadillac has an amazing Sunday brunch to offer. Lots of food options from BBQ to Mexican to standard breakfast fare. It is packed every Sunday, so I advise you to show up earlier than later. The staff are great and offer you great food with a smile the whole morning. The Good: probably the most extensive brunch anywhere with lots of TexMex, unusual Mex selections, Italian dishes, fresh waffle and pancake section, made to order omelettes, expected breakfast items, fruits, desserts, Bloody Mary section. The Not So Good: almost everything is just okay and items like seafood enchiladas might have been tasty if they had been hot. The Sunday brunch is amazing. They have everything. There set up is pretty unique. They have 5 different sections. They brunch takes place in the back of the restaurant (party room). They have an omelette bar, pancake bar, and taco bar. They have a bloody Mary section. I think for the price it's really worth it. My kids ate so much. You kind of get a resort feel to it, which my husband said. I would first recommend walking around then start picking out your choices. You might miss some great treats. read more

Came at 6pm on a Tuesday. 8 adults, 3 kids, zero wait awesome service. I'm from DFW, so this was my first time here. While I don't like their salsa (it's bland.... usually a very bad sign), the rest of their food is AMAZING. I'd literally consider it one of the best Tex mex meals I've ever had. I got a Cadillac combo plate, which was an enchilada, taco and quesadilla with rice and beans for $16. Tons of food, could've easily split with someone . Queso is awesome. I will never comeback to this restaurant ever again! THERE WAS A ROACH CRAWLING ON THE BABY CHANGER THAT MY SON WAS ON!!! I was changing my baby and had to pick him up before a roach was able to crawl on him. So gross. Prior to my roach experience, we were short changed by almost $30 dollars due to a miscommunication between the assistant manager and the server apparently, which caused us to stay twenty minutes longer than we expected. First time going to the Sunday brunch. It was better than I expected. Our waiter was very attentive and our drinks were refilled without having to request it. Everything I tried from the brunch buffet was fresh and delicious. I was impressed on how delicious the pupusas were. All the fruit was perfectly ripe and sweet. The only reason I didn't give a 5star was because there was an issue with the seating arrangements since we had a group of 8. It's a fantastic meeting spot right off the interstate. It's great people-watching. Most of all, it's GREAT food! I love this iconic little Tex-Mex place, and I've enjoyed every experience I've had visiting. Their margaritas are made with real lemon/lime juice. Their guacamole is made table side. The quesadillas are full of chicken and cheese with great flavor and the guacamole is fresh! Food was delicious and traveled well. However, you can only order online if you are using a delivery service. We were picking our food up curbide (that's another story) and so we had to actually call in and taalk to a human to order, with the crazy noise of the restaurant in the background! Annoying. Seriously, set up your website so we can order ONLINE for pick-up! How very last decade! Now, as for curbside - there is none! Seriously???? Every other business now offers curbside, especially restaurants. IF Walmart can offer curbside, why can't Cadillac Bar??? Super inconvenient! Husband had to go inside and wait...as order wasn't ready yet...sitting inside, which he was trying to avoid. Offer Online Ordering AND Offer Curbside, for crying out loud! Service in this particular location has always been a bit off, a bit slow, when dining in anyway. But we still go because of the food. So, food still good, 3 stars for that, but if online ordering for to-go and curbside added, it would have been 5 stars. read more
