Food was absolutely delicious. A make or break for me when it comes to a Mexican restaurant is always the salsa, and here the salsa was 10/10! The service was also phenomenal. Last night we decided to have dinner rather than undergo the rain to get into the rodeo. We ended up at the Cadillac Bar. Since there's only two of us, we normally sit at the bar, this is two fold, one we get quick seats, two we usually get awesome service. We were able to be seated quickly, and could have got a table, the place was empty. The bar tender took our drink order and then once she delivered the first round, never paid attention to us again. I had to get her attention several times for refills and to place orders for food. This was frustrating because there was no one there, well a handful of people. The bartender, and what appeared to be the manager were busy with one particular couple at the middle of the bar. We ordered queso, it was cold, and we ordered taquitos, which came out cold, 25 minutes later. When we finally ordered the main meal, we got our third round of drinks and they were never refilled or were we even asked about more drinks. Our service was the worst we've ever had. I'm hoping it was not the norm, but we waited and waited for service. We got drinks and chips, but after that it was hurry up and wait. It took over an hour to get our meals. 3 of the 4 meals were very good, but the most expensive one was not. It was the Cancun enchiladas and the crab in them was almost inedible. The taste was strong and like it came in a can. Too expensive to be ruined by bad crabmeat. I'm giving it 2 stars only because the other's meals were good...the service HORRIBLE! I've been wanting to incorporate Sunday brunch into my busy schedule and by busy, I mean staying out into the wee hours of Saturday night/Sunday AM creating future tales of inebriated belligerence. However, my sweet bf was committed to fufilling my brunch desires and dragged me out of bed at 12PM. He tells me he's taking me to Cadillac bar. First, I start wanting to throw dem bows - (Ludacris - Southern Hospitality) Cadillac grills, Cadillac mill's, check out the oil my Cadillac spills, Matter of fact, candy paint Cadillacs kill so check out the hoes my Cadillac fills! - and second, I already went to a bar last night, why are we going to another one?! We arrive and I had no idea what to expect. Are there going to be spinning rims? Will there be gangsters? How many hoes does this cadillac fill? We walk in to decor of red, green, and yellow. Ahh it's a mexican restaurant! It's huge and there are two rooms of buffet set ups. Anything brunch or tex-mex that your heart desires is there in hot, delicious, mini form. Mini enchiladas (mole, shrimp, ground beef, spinach, etc)? You got it! Tamales? Taco (hard shell, corn tortilla, flour tortilla) with carnitas, al carbon, pollo? No problem! Quesadilla? Sure! Pick your cheese and your meat. Across from made to order quesadillas are mini waffles and pancakes, crepes, and french toast. In the back, made-to-order omelettes. Then the next table over there is bacon, bacon, bacon galore, sausage, chorizo con huevos and potatoes! Finish it off with carrot cake, tres leches, or chocolate cake. mmmm. It was brunch heaven. No more asking for extra pico de gallo or getting charged for guacamole because every topping you would ever need on your mexican food is at your disposal. Load up the gauc for no extra guap! I stuffed my face and washed it down with a frozen margarita. The best part was being able to top your margaritas off with the fruit syrup and fresh fruit topping of your choice....sippin on some (strawberry) syrup! The server was attentive and anticipated our needs. Round 1, we washed our food down with margaritas. As we sat down for Round 2, tall glasses of waters were waiting at the table for us. It was like he read my mind! When Round 3 came, we found they had cleared our tables and I had to prematurely part with my margarita. The waiter apologized and brought us new complimentary margarita and mimosas without us even beginning to utter a complaint. Mind reader I tell you. When the check arrived, the brunch turns out to be $18.99 per person and drinks are by the glass. It's a little steep for brunch. Although the food was good, mexican food isn't all too expensive to begin with. I could have been perfectly satisfied with a lunch combo of tacos and enchiladas for under $10. Not quite sure it's worth the value at $18.99 but I definitely am a fan!!! read more

I'm only giving it 1 star bc I had to. The bartender here has totally blown us off the 3xs we've come to Happy Hour. He's super inattentive and very rude. It's almost as if we are inconveniencing him when he has to do his job by serving us, and paying attention to us. Then, his group of elderly regulars that he loves to wait on, are there and one of the men commented VERY LOUDLY, that he "doesn't like white people, except for the 2 others that are in our group" as he pointed them out with his finger. The bartender overheard this and saw my reaction. He did nothing to apologize and seemed to antagonize them to drink more perhaps so his tip would increase. This is truly a review I hate to write. I have never had worse fish tacos in my life. I went to lunch here about 2 hours ago with a client/assoc. and I ordered the fish tacos. I am someone who truly wants to be the world's expert on fish tacos. I eat them many places and there are many different types I like. These come out well presented with upturned foil, a mango/pico de gallo type salsa on top, etc. From the look you cannot help but think this is gonna be great. I take the first bite and taste the salsa which is good but not great and as I chew...chew...chew...chew...chewwwwwwww for several minutes trying to decide how I will get this piece of shoe leather out of my mouth, I realize I have been fooled. I finally man up and swallow and take a bite from the other with the same exact result. As my associate notices I am not eating anything but the chips, I tell him it is so tough you cannot do anything with it. He says, "My fish was overcooked too." Maybe it wasn't as bad as he was close to finished. At a business lunch, I don't want to call people over and make the meal the centerpoint of the lunch by complaining so I drink my tea, finish the conversation and we leave. We came here for a birthday dinner recently. Food is pretty good for a Landry's restaurant. Their salsa was decent. I managed to find a "healthy" entree and ordered the macadamia crusted tilapia with pineapple salsa, it was huge! I only ate half of it and asked for a to-go box. On our way out, I forgot my doggie bag but I returned to claim within 5 minutes, to find out they had chucked it! But, they redeemed themselves by making me a 1/2 entree to-go. read more

Went on a Sunday around 4:45pm for a 5pm reservation unfortunately the guy at the bar who asked us how many people and we explained we had a reservation for a group sent us down to the other end of the restaurant which was reserved for a private reception. This meant walking outside in the heat only to realize...we were in the wrong place. We walked back down to the main restaurant and the guy ask us again how many. Again we gave the same explanation and another guy walks up and says oh you have reservations for 20 at this point majority of the party is there and we are standing in the bar area while the staff scrambles to try to get the room together. The guys moving the tables around were dressed in slacks and white tshirts/undershirts of some sort. By the time the area was together it was 5:15-5:20. After all of the confusion of seating a large party the waiter (Ricky) did a great job serving and controlling the large party. However, there was a problem with one of the staff members hitting one of our kids and telling him to 'stop'. The food was pretty good but the service level of our waitstaff was excellent. read more
