The first time we went to Valencia was because we heard they were running a breakfast special, $1.49 breakfast tacos. Me and my boyfriend love breakfast tacos, so we had to try it and it was convenient because they were down the street from us. They only run the promotion from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and we are definitely not morning people... but somehow on the weekends we still manage to get up for these tacos. That's how good they are. At this point, we honestly look forward to them every weekend. You can dine in or order pick up . When it comes to ordering, the tacos come with eggs and then you can choose if you want beans or no beans. They use black beans, which I personally love, so that's perfect for me. Then you pick your protein; bacon, potatoes, or chorizo. Sometimes I actually just want eggs and beans, and you can customize everything online, but for some reason it doesn't give you the option to do just beans and eggs. So I usually just call it in, which I don't mind. Another thing I like is that you can choose between flour or corn tortillas, so you can really make the taco exactly how you want it. It's not just a set combo, which I think is a big plus. And I have to mention the salsa. I'm not really a salsa person because I don't like spicy foods too much, but for some reason this salsa is so good. It's not spicy at all, but it has really good flavor. I have to have it with the tacos every time, it honestly makes them even better. The place itself is super cute and chill. Since we usually go in the morning for pickup, it's pretty quiet, which I like. We've been going for the past month or two, and they always decorate depending on the holiday, which is really cute. The inside has a fun, festive vibe and feels like a nice place to hang out. We would definitely recommend going by especially for the breakfast tacos. I honestly don't see us missing a weekend anytime soon because they're just that good. read more

We came to Valencia's with 20 people for friend's birthday party and their outdoor patio was easily able to accommodate our whole party for Sunday brunch. This was my first time here and the restaurant vibes were high. Parking: they have a large parking lot in front so no need to worry about parking unless it gets packed. Ambiance: this place is decorated in full color. It's very colorful inside and outside of the restaurant. They had TVs throughout the restaurant playing the Olympics and Super Bowl pre-game shows. Service: the servers here were very attentive. The restaurant was not very full so maybe that had a little to do with the attentive service but our large party was taken care of. I will say that they were able to break the bill down by each person which is super nice with a party that big. Drinks: everyone enjoyed their drinks here. We had the pineapple mezcal margaritas, skinny margaritas and espresso martinis. All of the drinks were tasty and boozy. We would come back here just for drinks. Food: I got the roasted chicken chilaquiles and my girlfriend got the breakfast quesadilla. They were very average. Each plate came with rice and your choice of beans. The chilaquiles come with red or green salsa but the waitress said the green was way better. The chilaquiles didn't have a lot of flavor or spice. The rice was very blank. The beans didn't have much flavor either. The tortilla seemed store bought. But the eggs were cooked well. The chips and salsas also tasted store bought. The chips were also a little stale. My friend sitting next to me got the breakfast tacos and they were very average. Overall, I would rate this place a 3.5/5 with one star dedicated to the lively atmosphere and good drinks. We were out and about and made an impromptu decision to eat here for lunch. I think I randomly saw it on social media and was intrigued and seeing it reminded me I wanted to try it lol. The service was great and atmosphere was amazing and lively. I love the decor! Now to the bad, the food was mediocre and bland. The only thing that was actually tasty and seasoned was the free salsa that came with the chips. Glad we tried it but we won't be back again. Recently entered for a quick lunch after a visit to the children's museum. The service was a bit slow to start but they were able to get everything out after a little rush was addressed. Their margaritas are nice and strong and food options are plenty. The part that my kids love is that there is free ice cream for littles for dessert. I had the Spicy Pineapple Ranch Water (perfect for a hot day), the hubby had the Peach Margarita, and the rest ordered a Mojito, classic lime Margarita, and a Mexican Martini (another tex mex classic). I ordered the Pork Belly al Pastor tacos - savory pork belly, sweet grilled pineapple, and refreshing cabbage & onion slaw - with Mexican rice and charro beans. My husband had the Slow Roasted Brisket tacos - smokey Chipotle rubbed brisket and a spicy slaw (medium heat, not too spicy) - with Mexican rice and refried black beans. The hubby and I shared as each dish came with two tacos each. The rest of the table ordered the brisket enchiladas, fish tacos, and their leche flan. The leche flan was a-ma-zing! Overall: Bright and friendly - plenty of seating. Definitely a place to return to and an alternative for other Tex-Mex places in the Heights. Service: Wonderful staff - I think almost everyone who walked by checked on us and our server was wonderful as well. I appreciated being greeted upon entry and departure. It wasn't too busy during lunch so we got our food relatively quickly once we finally ordered. Food: Complimentary chips and salsa were a good start to the meal. It made it impossible to not order the queso. I ordered the Summer special - a chalupa, taco and enchilada with guac and it was so much i had to take half of the queso and the meal home. The taco and chalupa shells were crispy and light and they held tight with the amount of meat and ingredients on top. My companion ordered the weekday special and enjoyed their meal as well. We visited Valencia's on 01/09/2026 at about 7:30pm with a party of five. We were seated promptly by a very nice host. The decor in this restaurant is wonderful. It welcomes you, and it is very pleasing to the eye. Colorful, fun and an all around good time. The chips and salsa were absolutely delicious and complimentary. The two salsas were very tasty. For dinner, my Husband and I shared both the Pork Belly El Pastor and the Brisket Tacos. The Pork Belly tacos were delicious. I felt that the Brisket Tacos were missing something. They also happy hour from 3-6 everyday (yes, weekends) with snacks which is always a plus in my book! Unfortunately the food was just very average. The queso was a solid Texmex, creamy yellow queso that complimented the salsa well. Salsa and chips also brought good Texmex vibes. However, the remainder of the food was meh. A friend and I stopped in for drinks after seeing their ad for weekend happy hour in the community impact paper. There wasn't room at the bar so we were sat at a table in the center of the restaurant. We ordered water and large margaritas as soon as we arrived and noted that we wouldn't be ordering food. The inside was decorated nicely and was overall very casual. Our server brought out waters immediately and noted that the bar was heavily backed up with orders so it would take awhile to get our drinks. I was surprised how long it took with the limited number of people in the restaurant. While we waited, they did bring out chips and salsa. The chips seemed overly stale so weren't something we ended up eating. Our server was great and checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. When the margaritas did arrive, they were on the sour side but still good. I do think the pricing in the add is a bit misleading considering how it actually works when you arrive. The lower price on the add seems to be for a special lunch size and not a regular margarita. Overall, we had an OK experience but this isn't a place I'd go out of my way to visit again. read more

This was one of those experiences that if I tried I couldn't find fault. From the time we entered the staff was friendly and attentive. Chips, salsa and water were immediately put on our table. Our server then took a drink order then came back to see if we wanted any appetizers. The drinks were served-all excellent- and dinner orders taken. (There were 6 of us). During the wait for our dinner the server checked to see if we needed anymore chips, salsa or drink re-fills. Once our dinner was served our server gave enough time for us to begin eating and then again checked on us. The food was delicious and the portions "huge"! When it appeared we were finished eating our server offered to go boxes and inquired if we wanted dessert. A very positive experience! Being in the neighborhood visiting a friend, I decided to have lunch here last week for my first time. Upon walking in I immediately liked the decor of this Tex Mex restaurant. It was festively decorated with inverted parasols hanging from the ceiling along with a neat looking full bar that is backlit with changing colors even noticeable in the daytime. This restaurant also has a covered and fenced outdoor seating area too. From an appearance perspective this place gives out cool vibes. I ordered the Pollo Vienna entree ($18) from the dinner menu for lunch. First to arrive was the complimentary chips and 2 dips (one red salsa and one guac). This turned out to be a bad start for me as the chips and salsas are important to my overall satisfaction of a restaurant like this. Not only was the red salsa too tart for me to enjoy so was the guac dip! That surprised me because usually guac dip is smooth rather than bitter like this one was. I ate about 4 chips and stopped. The entree arrived in under 15 minutes. It was a chicken breast sautéed in cilantro butter and topped with a mushroom chipotle Chardonnay cream sauce. Sounds exotic doesn't it? The meal also came with sliced avocado and grilled veggies. The one positive was that the chicken breast was a large piece. Other than that, I didn't particularly care for the taste and thought it was too salty. One other positive was that our waiter, Felix, did a professional job of waiting on the table. He was excellent. Honestly, I don't think I will return here. When I ordered my waiter said that my entree was one of their best and I didn't care for it. Because I also didn't like the chips and dips I don't think I would want to take a chance of another entree. Sorry but while the restaurant looks nice the food didn't cut it with me. The space was pretty empty when we went for an early happy hour. It filled up later for dinner. Lots of families and kids. Negatives - food needs an upgrade on seasoning and flavor based on what we had. The food was about a 2.5. It wasn't very flavorful. The elote and queso with ground beef were pretty good. The happy hour tacos were a good snack but very small, not well seasoned and way too much lettuce. Texas has a lot of TexMex options with better food. I would come back for the drinks, maybe. Service was not that great. It was Mother's Day but they need more servers. Got the bottomless mimosas and the chilaquiles. Chilaquiles were not as good as last time. The quality of the food has gone down and management has gotten strict on the mimosas. Now, you need to order an entree with the mimosas so the deal is not even good... You need to spend at least $30 to get free refills. Very disappointed on how management is starting to drive this place down with their prices. read more

Very cute place, but the food was just ok. My friends and I came the other night and were seated immediately. It was a weekend and it wasn't overly crowded. The chips & salsa were pretty good. I enjoyed the red salsa more than green because it was spicier. I got the Pollo Vienna. I'm currently on the keto diet, so I enjoyed the fact that they had something that wasn't served with fried tortillas. The mushroom chardonnay cream sauce was nice and the chicken was surprisingly tender. The reason for me docking down a star was because my fiancee wanted to order the elote. Unfortunately we weren't able to try it because it's listed as a "happy hour" item and the computer wouldn't let the server input the order. What a bummer. Prices were a bit steep for a Tex-Mex spot, but I guess that's inflation for ya. My Ranch Water cocktail was $12! My fiancee ordered the brisket enchiladas and he said it wasn't anything memorable. We visit the Heights neighborhood fairly often, but I don't think we'll necessarily be back here anytime soon. read more

Love the HH at Valencia's and all the lunch specials but I have found the last few times I have stopped in, there's only one or two waiters who seem to be juggling a lot. Both times there have been huge parties in attendance and only two waiters or so it seems to be servicing the busy restaurant. I love the food and drinks and under stand short staffing is everywhere but it does impact my thoughts after paying $70 w/tip but service taking forever. Luckily the gentlemen servicing us is always kind, we keep coming back, just hope they're able to maybe have more staff to help cover the full restaurant. read more

This was our first time here and let me tell you, we'll certainly be back! We arrived at 10:30 for brunch Easter Sunday but the entire menu was available. Friday-Sunday they offer penny mimosa refills between 10-3 (I believe is the correct time). They have indoor/ covered outdoor seating available. The food was fantastic! Portions are huge! My husband and I could have shared a plate. The beef enchilada and beef taco are the same meat and offer tons of flavor. The guacamole was fresh. They serve refried black beans (which are my favorite) or charro. The tamale I had was served with a tomatillo sauce instead of the normal brown gravy and it was delicious. The restaurant was very clean and had a festive decor with colorful sugar scull wallpaper and papel picado hanging from the ceiling. Restrooms were very clean and maintained. Our server (sorry, I don't recall her name) was excellent! My mimosa glass never stayed empty! She noticed it was low and immediately brought a refill, I never had to ask! We had eaten just a few hours earlier so we really only wanted to snack, drink and laugh. To our surprise, the nachos was delicious paired with our drinks. I had the Don Julio jumbo margarita and I could see the liquor floating on the top and bottom on my glass.
