We're talking layers on layers of tender, juicy turkey, piled high with that crisp, freshly shredded lettuce that gives the perfect crunch in every bite. Even writing about it makes my mouth water all over again! The bread? Soft, fresh, and just the right amount of pillowy to hold it all together without falling apart. Once in awhile we crave the sandwiches from Caesar's and it's funny that we didn't even know this location existed until I pulled them up on Yelp. Since finding out about this location, we have visited this place a few times now. I really love the old school feel to this sandwich spot. You can either dine in or order your sandwich to go. Caesar's is hit and miss for me. Once in a great while it's one of the best sandwiches I've had and sometimes it's just okay. One thing I do know for sure is that I keep coming back because they have "that" clam chowder. My only complaint is that they are pricey and you can get a superior sandwich from other places. Parking is a little bit crazy during lunch time. Staff is always super nice here and the lines go pretty quick. I don't know if they have more than the 2 locations I know of. This location is not as fancy as the one on Brimhall, but their sandwiches are just as good. read more

Super chill spot, a lot of people showed up to order for lunch. The service is great, very friendly. Okay about the food... idk why anyone would think to put mustard on an Italian sub or even on a deep pit sandwich. I feel on love with the Italian sub from L.A. and I am trying to find a spot here in my hometown and im coming up short. Yes the meat and cheese were good, but the bread is too thick or they just don't add the EVOO. Like I mentioned idk why anyone would add mustard to a deep pit sandwich bjt to each their own. I will say I highly recommend asking them to go EASY on the mustard as you can clearly see in pics they go HEAVY lol. I have never had pickled tongue but one of the sandwiches they carry is called a combination sub and it was in my opinion better than the classic Italian. We absolutely love this place. They have the best sandwiches and the staff is amazing too. On this visit we got the Venice and hot grilled chicken sandwich. All I can say OMG this was good. I love the grilled chicken sandwich. I add pepper jack cheese to it and man oh man it's good. The Venice is a cold sandwich and is so good too. They cater as well and have a small case where you can get pickled tongue and a few different pastas. I usually buy the pan size which feeds 6 to 8 people. I used Caesar's II Delicatessen to order a meat & cheese tray for our family's Christmas Eve party. The tray comes with meats, cheeses, olives, and a bag of Pyrenees sourdough French bread party slices. The tray I purchased served 14 people. I've ordered these trays thru the years and they never disappoint. The folks at Caesar's II are just the friendliest! Even though the place may be packed and busy busy, the staff is nothing but calm and courteous! There is a great atmosphere and you'll feel welcome as soon as you walk in. For stars for the worst sandwich I've ever had. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich. She said it was terrible. We were very hungry. She ate hers, but didn't like it. I got through 3/4 of mine Couldn't take it anymore. Note. I did ask for extra pickles and peppers. But most of it was pickles, very small amount of peppers no lettuce, and hardly any pastrami. I ate the entire bag of chips including the wrapper so i don't know what brand they were but the jalapeño chips are always a must. I saw that they had ice cream and gave it a shot, 1/4 for 99¢ like you know i'm hopping on that deal faster than a crackhead on a pipe. So the awesome worker went and defrosted the ice cream (that's beyond an extra mile i mean, we're talking at least 2 miles) and came back with like half a pint and let me take it. I've been going here since I was a kid but hadn't gone in years and was only reminded of it because I drive past it on the way to one of my jobs. So I decided to go on random Saturday - they're open 7 days a week which is a rarity for a local establishment these days. The interior looks just as I remembered with the little tables down the middle and a refrigerated section on the eastern wall. It was like going back in time and everything was untouched from memory. My go-to has always been the roast beef sandwich, and so I ordered that with everything on it plus a bag of Dirty brand potato chips. And the service is as friendly as always. Just like the interior, not a thing has changed about the food. They still use the same sesame roll that's slightly on the drier side but necessary to pair with the mayo and softer veggies. The meat and cheese were great as well. I enjoyed it at home with a soda and felt nostalgic bliss. I'm happy for the business to still be operational when so many local places have gone to wayside with the times and cheaper chain alternatives. Caesar's II is one of the few things - and I mean few things- that miss about Bakersfield. I put it in the category of Dewars, Frugatti's and Rosemary's. Why fancier Italian restaurants and ice cream shops you ask? They are often imitated but never duplicated. The flavor is very unique and flavorful and you can't find it anywhere else! Caesars II sandwiches were always unique and flavorful. I especially like the bread they use as I can't find it anywhere but Bakersfield. I knew I was going to surprise my husband with lunch so I checked their menu before I went and decided what I was going to purchase. I walked into the business which is small, but clean. However it was very hot and muggy. It was a nice day outside they should have opened a door , it was obvious they refuse to use the AC. The young lady, taking my order, walked away spoke to the woman I originally talk to and came back and wrote down chicken wrap on my order. I explained no I wanted a Rafa chicken, bacon ranch. She looked at me blankly and then looked at the other woman. The other woman then looked at me and told me I was looking at the wrong menu for the wrong location I was looking for Brimhall, she was not polite about it. I expect she gets this all the time. I reviewed their small menu and ordered my sandwich, which ended up being a turkey breast. While I was standing and waiting for my order to be made, I reviewed and made sure that I was looking at the correct location and I explained this to the woman. She told me oh well, we can't do anything about that because it's on Yelp. I explained that they do have the option of updating their hours and their menu through Yelp. She then told me nobody was ever going to deal with it because the owner was a male. I got our sandwiches to go. I definitely think there are better sandwich options in Bakersfield. I've been back at least 20 times. I've tried most of their menu, and I've loved everything. Their deli selections are still some of my favorite treats, especially the stuffed peppers. They sell a chicken alfredo that's possibly better than your grandmother's. I'm still of the opinion that the Combo is the best sandwich in Bakersfield. Ask for it with extra pickled tongue. Oh, you can order sandwiches with extra or even double meat! That's handy. They'll also make sure to put a lot of the pickled tongue juices on the sandwich if you ask. DO THIS. Trust the fat man I know what I'm talking about. I showed up on Superbowl Sunday recently and their staff were slamming out platters of meat and cheese for people about to throw big parties. You could tell they were about to close and we're trying to get out of there, and yet they treated me like I was the most important person they'd seen all day. Good sandwiches, ok chip and drink selection. Literally the last 4 out of 6 times my sandwich was made wrong, either something was added or was forgot to be added. Also depends on who makes the sandwich it will have different things that come with it. I keep coming back though because they are good, close by, and local owned, and I've gotten used to checking right away before I leave.
