When my friends and I were wee children of 19 years old we definitely experienced the SE Michigan teenage rite of passage--crossing the bridge to Canada and going to the bars. Caesars was one of our regular stops as we (or should I say our designated driver, we were smart about it!) often parked our car in their garage before bopping around to a few spots in Windsor (RIP the Loop and that one British pub that we loved that I can't remember the name of but they had the hot waiter who did a really good Mick Jagger impersonation). At the time, 20 + years ago and still technically a teenager, this place felt majestic. All the colors, the sounds, shiny decor hanging from the ceilings. We felt grown up and classy getting a drink and hitting the penny slots. The memories I have from those days are so wonderful! Recently, I've come back to Caesars and with my teenage beer goggles off and my middle aged readers on it feels much different. Maybe it's decades of lived experiences or maybe it's just 20 years of wear and tear but it doesn't quite feel as FANCY as it did then. That's not say it's not nice. We at ate Spago and it was delicious, saw Eddie Izzard live in their performance venue (which was so minimalist I felt like I was in a high school theatre), and walked around and played the slots after the show (I didn't win anything). It felt so familiar but also so different. That's time I guess! Anyhow, for a night out of slots, or dinner and a show, it gets the job done and don't relatively well. What a beautiful place to stay. Parked In a covered garage. Skywalk from the garage to Caesars. Security officers present felt very safe. I felt it was a clean environment smelled good. Lots Of gaming casinos on the way to check in. Loved all the statues. My room was on the 17th floor. I had to have your key card to access elevator so you were given two. Make sure to keep one on you at all times. Had a wonderful view. Room was clean quiet. The staff was polite and informative. Close restaurants vending machines. Highly recommend staying definitely worth the price. read more

3.5/5 stars, so I will round up to 4 stars. We came here on Sunday before the Jim Gaffigan show at the Colosseum, it's literally the closest hotel/casino restaurant to the Colosseum which is great. We put in our names around 5:20pm and they quoted us a 1 hour and 20 minute wait; however, we were seated around 6pm, so it was more like 40 minutes. The best part of the meal was definitely the bread - it's more like a plain pizza, brushed with olive oil and topped with tomatoes, for a bruschetta feel. My pasta dish came with a regular house salad, which was also good. I had the Linguine Moscardelli, which comes with tomatoes, onion, spinach, and bacon, in a garlic/olive oil sauce. It was okay - tasty, but nothing special. One friend had the pasta carbonara, and another did the Gamberi (shrimp in olive oil and garlic), and both liked theirs, although the carbonara friend later said she liked my meal more than hers. Waitservice was spotty ... we saw our waitress near the beginning of the meal, then she'd disappear. Luckily there was someone else for water refills, so those were always prompt. They'll bring you a carafe of water but we had to ask for ice. Prices are reasonable for it being both a casino/hotel restaurant, and also so close to the Colosseum - my dish was about $16.95 CAD, so about $12.94 USD. The restaurant itself is very pretty, as well, and you can get some people-watching in, since the hotel check-in area is right next to it. The closest restroom, FYI, is around the corner, by the check-in desk. Overall I would eat here again, next time I'd probably try some pizza but I've been trying to avoid dairy this week. read more

We stopped by in Windsor to spend some time and my sister suggested we eat at one of her favorite restaurants. I love eating Italian food so I was all in for trying it out. We walked through the casino and followed the sign to find Spago. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and got our drink orders quickly. We looked through the menu and my sister recommended the blush sauce. The waitress said it is a mix between red sauce and alfredo sauce. I am not really a fan of red sauce so I chose the classic alfredo. The alfredo tasted good and it was a large portion. My boyfriend had gnocchi abd it tasted delicious. It was super filling and creamy. I loved it and I would love to get it the next time I come in. I did try my sister's pasta to see what the blush sauce tasted like. I personally did not like it but that is because I do not really like red sauces at all. If you like red sauce and alfredo sauce, it may be worth a try. It reminded me of a pasta my aunt used to make. The only thing that I found weird is that the waitress did not give us refills on drinks unless we asked. I am not sure if it is common in Canada to do this, but I found it odd. She would come by and I had to stop her and ask for a refill. Also, my sister asked for a refill, and she saw my other sister's drink had been empty. She only took her cup to go refill. I also do not really like when my cup is taken from me to go get a refill. I always find that a bit odd. My sister said it felt like her cup was not dumped out because her second drink tasted more watery. Her previous drink had melted ice in it, as she was waiting a while for the waitress. The other sister did not get a refill and she did not ask if she wanted obe. My sister was goingn to ask when she came back with the other refill, but she ran off very quickly. read more

Don't know why the bad reviews, this place was great. The salad simple but great taste, the focaccia bread with the tomato and garlic on top was great. The mussels in tomato sauce were great, the manicotti was great. Hell they should have Tony the tiger be their mascot. Hostess, server and the guys that brought out the food were all terrific (thought i was gonna say great didn't you). The Chardonay was excellent, and my Pellegrino was Pellegrino. The ambiance was really nice, soft lit kinda dark even girls with the butta faces look good in here. Definately will be back. read more

Had dinner here and was exited to try the wood fire pizza! Service was just okay, we ordered and thirty minutes later we asked our waitress to what is happening and she said the order was misplaced or something, the back printer didn't work, so we waited quite sometime to get our orders! We came here one afternoon when we were in the area and decided to try this place out. The pizza was really good but took forever to come out over an hour. The fettuccine Alfredo on the other hand was very average and I can personally make a better fettuccine at home myself. We were quite disappointed and literally had to walk out and pay the bill as we were walking out because we really needed to leave. We popped in for a quick bite before a concert. We arrived early as there was a concert on that night. The place was nearly full by 17:30, but we managed to get seats at the bar. There's a pizza oven (brick, not wood, I believe), a good-sized bar with relatively comfortable stools, tables and booths. Nice view of the river. It's adjacent to the lobby, so it can get loud. The menu has a little bit of everything, so most should be able to find something that suits. There are seafood, meat and vegetarian options. Cocktails are surprisingly accessible with prices such as $8 for a negroni, whereas draught Moretti (misspelled, and on an Italian menu no less!) and Stella are $8.50. Most of the pasta selections are south of $20. There are more than 20 pizze options. The calamari alla griglia comes in an appetizer for $13 or a dinner for $18. Service was fine although the place was hopping; perhaps they are accustomed to turning out dishes at that pace. I would go again, but would be sure to allow plenty of time on a show night. read more

Disappointing experience.....Went for breakfast and was let down by the poor service. Very few people dining and hardly any servers. A group of 8 and :2 left as there was no one serving. Coffee was poured into our tea, no salt in the container brought to the table of which is not a big deal. However this is not my first experience with poor staffing to accommodate guests who stay at the hotel who would like to dine in for breakfast. As the only place to eat breakfast Spago does not seem to recognize the need to increase staff and provide managerial support to their breakfast crew. One could likely anticipate a busier breakfast crowd after a show night as well during the holiday season. Food was fine but the overall experience poor. read more

I love the erie street location. The casino location is missing a couple dishes I love at Erie Street (the pepperoni/sausage pizza and the four cheese rigatonni). My service was good. I think the food is better at Erie Street. Reason I ate here when I was in Windsor last time instead of Erie Street was due to having a lot of Harrah's points to burn. Instead of a 1:1 redemption for points it's 2:1 so I just paid for my meal since the redemption rate is so poor and you don't earn points on cash purchases. read more

There was a concert at the Coliseum and Spago doesn't take reservations for parties of less than 8 so we had to wait an hour for a table. No problem as we were staying at the hotel and waited in our room with a few before dinner cocktails. Our dining experience was worth the wait! Even though the restaurant was jamming, we had the best service ever! Our waiter Enrique was attentive and very personable. Staff was there to remove plates as soon as we finished and checked on us throughout the meal - but not in an annoying way. I had the Rigatoni Classico and it was wonderful. I only wish I was able to finish it, the serving was large. My husband had chicken Alfredo and said it was also good. I would definitely eat there again. read more

I came for breakfast here today. It seems like every time I come in at this location, the management is completely inept and understaffs. I always see a couple servers being overworked and a line of people waiting to be served. The whole venue would do so much better if management could get their **** together for once. even working in the back is just a hot mess. I had bin interviewed by the executive chef recently for a line cook position and had my first day of what i can barely call 'training', the other line cooks were not to keen on helping the newbie and i was stuck with a bitter line cook that had me prepping for 5 hours with no break mind you im hired on to be a line cook but was stuck prepping and not learning any of the dishes recipes or any of the sort. On top of that i "came in on the right day" as i was stuck prepping 2 over filled and very very VERY unpleasant smelling calamari buckets which when i asked what the date for the 2 buckets were i saw 4 cooks scramble about to figure it out with no surprise no one knew. i struggled to find stuff to do as the dinner rush fled in as i was stuck mincing basil but once that was finished i was completely useless as everyone rushed around to get "mediocre" dishes out in a untimely manner so i proceeded to clock out with 5 hours under my belt wasted and my hopes let down immensely as i aspire and crave more and more culinary experience. honestly i need to work and put bread on the table as they say, but ill be kinda glad if i don't get an emailed schedule back or a call to come back in. But if i do, it better be worth it because this establishment in the casino is a disgrace compared to the other 2 locations. And yes i could go on about the mess they call the walk in freezers or the cleanliness of the back lines but im not here to talk smack more or so just to vent out my distress of the past week and a half.
