    Chicken Marsala

Great food and excellent service! Veal Marsala was the evening special, but they agreed to make a chicken Marsala for me without any issues.

Good food. Busy Thursday night so I can understand the lull during our meal, a little slow. Not disappointed you shouldn't be either.

For longtime fans, like me, that connection alone sets expectations high! Thankfully, many of the classics that I remember have made the move, including favorites like the Linguine Pescatore. Overall, the good far outweighed the bad during our visit, but since Dolce V had only been open about two months at the time of this review, there were a few little hiccups that are worth mentioning. The Negatives Let's start with the challenges. The restaurant itself is very small, which means limited seating. When every table is full, as it was during our visit, the space becomes quite loud, making conversation difficult. This is definitely not the spot for an intimate or quiet dinner. Pricing was another slight negative. Bread is not included and comes with a $6 upcharge, the starter salad is also a $6 uncharge ($4 if you order an entrée). On top of that, there is a 3% credit card fee, which we didn't notice until the bill came. So, by the end of the meal, it felt like we were being nickel and dimed, and that feeling detracted a bit from the overall experience. Unfortunately, the bread itself didn't justify the $6 cost, it wasn't warm, and the butter was underwhelming (honestly, our butter tub at home is better). While the salads were very good, paying extra for what many restaurants include as standard can be frustrating. The Positives Now for the highlights, and there were many! Portion sizes are generous, to say the least. Both my husband and I took home leftovers, which is always a win. The clear standout of the night was the appetizer Arancini, easily one of the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked rice, cheese and meat on the inside. Full of flavor, it's a must-order! For entrées, my husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and I chose the Shrimp Scampi. Both dishes were very good, and you could absolutely tell they were made fresh, not from frozen chicken or shrimp. That attention to quality matters, and it showed. While the salads came with an upcharge, they were large for a side salad and had fancy lettuce and toppings, and I especially loved the house-made creamy Italian dressing. That dressing alone might convince me to order the salad again, even with the extra cost! A small but appreciated touch was that the beer was ice-cold and served in a frosty glass, which always elevates the experience. Final Thoughts All in, our date night with beers, bread, appetizer, salads, and entrées - came in at just over $100. It's definitely on the pricey side, but not unreasonable given the portion sizes and fresh food quality. You could easily skip the add-ons and up charges to make the meal more affordable and still have a very good meal experience! This is a must try in my opinion, just go in knowing what to expect in advance! We will definitely be back very soon!

We were celebrating a birthday, so we decided to pull out all the stops -- and I'm really glad we did. I'll say right up front that the prices are a little higher than what I would normally spend on a meal, but honestly, it was absolutely worth it. They started us off with garlic bread that was incredibly delicious, and from there the experience only got better. Our server, Andrew, was fantastic. He mentioned that they might have been a little short-handed and apologized that he felt he couldn't be as attentive as he normally would be, but honestly, we never would have known. He did an excellent job keeping our water glasses full and making sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. At our table, we ordered the Chicken al Pastaio, Spaghetti Carbonara, Gnocchi Romana, and I had the Chicken Parmigiano. Every dish was excellent. I sampled a few bites from the other plates and genuinely enjoyed all of them. The real highlight for me, though, was the Beggar's Purse appetizer. It was pasta filled with goat cheese and pear, and it was absolutely divine. I can completely understand why they also offer it as a main course because I could have happily eaten an entire plate of it. For dessert, we shared cheesecake and tiramisu. The cheesecake was more traditional than what you'd typically get at places like The Cheesecake Factory, which caught me a little off guard at first, but it was still excellent. The tiramisu was also delicious, and we all got a good laugh when one of our guests accidentally inhaled a little cocoa powder off the top and started coughing and sneezing at the table. It honestly just added to the fun of the evening. At the end of the night, nothing we ordered disappointed, the service was wonderful, and it turned out to be a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We'll definitely be back.

When I came into Chatham Ontario, Canada, and checking into hotel, the lady at the front desk said you have to go to this restaurant. I hear that at a lot of hotels, but I figured I would check it out. For starters, this place is located downtown in a very quaint little district, there seems to be plenty of street parking. Although I can imagine on Friday and Saturday nights it can get a little hectic. Regardless, I found a spot walked across the street to the restaurant The place itself is really quaint and inviting. They made it up to look like a small Italian village. It's really really cool. This place is also kind of elegant, they have black tablecloths and silverware rolled up in cloth napkins and it is just an overall upscale dining event, although you definitely do not have to dress up to go here. My waitress, Claire, greeted me and asked if I wanted anything. I ordered a loss of water to start and just wanted to check out the menu. She came back a few moments later and I decided to order the calamari appetizer, the chicken parmesan which came with a salad... I opted for Caesar, and a glass of their house! Pinot noir. One thing I like about Italian restaurants is the pacing of the meal. This is not a walk-in, turn them and burn them. Type of establishment. This is a hour and a half to 2-hour culinary adventure. Claire has this down to a science. The appetizer came, and was cooked perfectly. I love fresh calamari. A nice touch was the dusted jalapenos and pineapple that came with. Instead of a shrimp style sauce, they opt for a slightly spicy sweet dipping sauce. Next came the bread. Claire also brought over the obligatory olive oil and balsamic vinegar, plus a spicy oil. She recommended that I mix all three and even brought over some shaved Parmesan to put on top of that before I dip the bread into it. Absolute heaven on a plate! Then came the salad, the Caesar was absolutely perfect. I love it when a salad is dressed properly, and not just a wad of dressing lumped on top. This was such a good salad and of course I had to have extra pepper and parmesan. After a short break, the main course arrived, and it was huge. Seen a bigger chicken parmesan in the history of my eating Italian food. And it was cooked so perfect! The spaghetti underneath was perfectly cooked, and the marinara sauce was totally on point. Mozzarella on the chicken parm and then covered it in the red sauce to give it that slightly melted texture. Did I finish it? No, I did not. But I am having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The reason being I wanted to save room for the tiramisu. I ordered the tiramisu, and had a double espresso. What a perfect combination! The tiramisu was absolutely wonderful, not too sweet and the bitterness of the coffee worked perfectly with it. I have to brag on Claire a little bit, as she was one of the most perfect wait staff people I have ever met. She was attentive without being hovering, she paced the meal perfectly, made great suggestions. I could not eat another bite as I was so full. And completely satisfied. This was literally one of the most perfect meals I have ever had. Bottom line? It was expensive. And I am more than willing to pay for quality food and service. And this place hit on all cylinders. If you are looking for a great night out, you would do no better than to check out this place.
