I came here for lunch with a friend. It's a very nice restaurant that also has outside seating. Bianca our server was amazing! We ordered a meat pizza and a New York adding mushrooms. Both were delicious! Excellent Italian style! Service was great and lunch went fast. Bathrooms need some attention especially the soap dispenser took me by surprise with a projectile squirt all over my clothes.

Overall, I'd rate Mootz around a 3.5, but giving a 4 mainly because of the excellent service and the burrata, which was definitely the standout dish. Would come back, especially for that. The vibe was lovely and fun on a Saturday night. We started with the burrata, which was excellent. It wasn't just a basic arugula and burrata situation, it was well seasoned with a really nice olive oil, lemon, and balsamic combination that made it feel elevated. It also came with baguette slices, but those are made with their pizza dough (which contains eggs). Once we mentioned my egg intolerance, our server was incredibly kind and checked with the kitchen, and they were able to make alternative slices using their gluten-free dough. Really appreciated that extra effort. The Grandma's Pizza (we did it on the gluten-free crust because of the egg) was pretty good. The crust itself was solid, especially for gluten-free. The toppings leaned heavier on the cheese than the sauce, and I didn't love the cheese as much, but it was still an enjoyable dish overall. Service really stood out -- everyone we interacted with at the bar was friendly, attentive, and accommodating.

This is some of the best pizza I've had and should be considered the pizza to beat in Detroit. Stopped in for lunch with a couple of friends in the late lunch hour so not many people were there. We were seated right away and our server, Katie, was fantastic. Great service. Not too hovery. No complaints. They got a large bee sting (looked very good and they said it was great) and I got a small beast of burden. It was fantastic. Little flop, dough had nice flavor, and good portion on the toppings. I was a little concerned it would be small, but it was a good portion size for one. I'm not usually a ricotta fan, but it perfectly complimented the salty meats and parm. My only negative would be the price. $20 for a personal pizza is pretty up there. However, it was high quality so I didn't feel as bad about it. All in all, a must visit.

The pizza was so good, I forgot to get a picture. We ordered the halal pepperoni pizza and it was so good, the sauce was great the pepperoni were amazing it was cooked perfectly. It was busy but the service was a little slow but the waiter was nice. The Caesar salad and garlic knots were delicious as well. I will be back but make sure you make reservations this place stays busy

This was my second time here - the first time I would've gave it 5 stars. I'm knocking it down one because there were ice chunks in my martini :( They were super busy on a Saturday night in the midst of Christmas so I didn't want to bother asking for a new drink. The pizza and vibes were amazing as usual and I will be back - just won't be getting a martini lol! Bee sting is a 10/10 - just needs a few red pepper flakes - def recommend!!

Mootz was a great surprise. The place is a large pizza joint with plenty of seating and a large bar area. SERVICE: The team here was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful and our server was very attentive and helped me make a dairy free pizza - Yay!! FOOD: Well see for yourself. The pizzas are super tasty and the salads were fresh. This is a great pizza stop if you are downtown.

Great experience for the most of it. They forgot about us at the table for a good 30 minutes. I finally flagged down a gentleman and he was OUTSTANDING! Had the order out in a few mins and kept the drinks full. Much appreciated!

We stopped in for dinner and, although the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, it seemed like they were short-staffed. We ended up waiting quite a while to be seated, and several other guests were waiting as well. We ordered the garlic knots, which were very greasy--just as other reviewers have mentioned. For our main dish, we got a large buffalo chicken pizza. The flavor was good, but it was a bit too spicy for my taste. That said, the wait staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, even with the delays. The food took longer than expected to come out, but the service itself was warm and appreciated. One thing to note: gratuity is automatically added for parties of four or more, so keep that in mind when the bill arrives. Overall, despite the slow pace and a couple of small food issues, the staff and atmosphere made it a solid experience. I'd give it four stars.

Team dinner this evening with colleagues, we were at Mootz for over an hour before walking over to the ballgame. Mootz is easy to get to, a short walk from the Cadillac Square People Mover Station or the QLine. There is street parking in front or paid parking decks nearby. We overfilled a booth and were warmly taken care of by multiple members of staff. Once again, I dropped off my keto diet for this goodness as we started with their massive garlic knots (the size of French croissants) before the multiple pizzas arrived. We had one with just pepperoni and that was good. My favorite was the "Bee Sting" which was topped with sausage, banana peppers, jalapenos and drizzled hot honey. Delicious, a little sticky and quite spicy. Fabulous and even better with some red pepper flakes added. Note that this is not "Detroit style" and is tilted towards what they call New York style pizza with round pie and a thinner crust. Tasty stuff and made to order. This place isn't cheap - their draft beers run in the $9 range which seems like a lot. But the food is good and the pizza is great. They also have a walk up window for just slices to go. First time here. TFW pizza looks really delicious. I can't wait to bite into a slice. Ordered takeout. Pizzia' are on the pricey side to me. Small Italian with 4 slices is about $20.00

Unbelievably good Pizza, Apps, and Drinks! The service was very kind and quick! Pretty decent setting. We sat outdoors but inside looked great too! Definitely recommend.

We got some nice weather this weekend in Detroit, so decided to stop by for a quick slice of pizza while walking around. I just ordered from the carryout single slice section, but it was really fast and convenient. I ordered the halal pie, which has halal pepperoni, jalapenos, and hot honey. The hot honey stole the show and really elevated the flavor of the pizza, I loved it and am still thinking about how good it is. I did think it was priced a little high at $6 per slice, but the sizes are generous to help offset. Overall, definitely a top pizza spot in downtown with both dine in and convenient single slice carryout.

I don't know what this man's intentions were, but he could've came up to me and just simply asked "are you doing okay? is there anything i can do for you?" instead of scooping me out as if i was getting ready to commit a crime. as I spend more time being back in my home in Detroit, i'm just not understanding why it's too difficult to receive decent and humane customer service. i'm just in complete concern & dismay due to this experience, do so much better.

For a starter, the cashew Caesar salad ($8) was ordered. It came with mixed greens, house-made cashew Caesar dressing, fried shallots, and vegan parmesan. This was very tasty. It was unique with the fried shallot addition. The dressing was just enough. It all appeared very fresh and crisp. The cheese had somewhat of an odd texture, but not a big deal. For a meal, the lobster roll pizza ($45) was ordered. This was so unique that it had to be tried. It came with 6 oz. wild caught lobster, herb crème fraiche, celery and onion brunoise, Cape Cod chips, and chives with drawn butter and lemon. This was very rich, so the addition of the lemon juice and crunchy chips really helped offset that. It was also heavy due to the components incorporated. The lobster appeared fresh and there was plenty of it. The butter was not even needed, but solid for a slight dip. The crème fraiche was solid and different. The crust was crispy and great too. Will I go back? I would, yeah.
