Food was a 5 service was a 1. Must have hit it on a bad day. First time to eat at this place. Party of 4 at 6pm on a Friday night and it is packed. If going, I highly recommend a reservation. According to our other party it started filling up before 5pm in the bar area. When we arrived we were promptly seated at 6pm and ordered drinks. We had a dozen broiled Parm herb & garlic oysters, a cup of gumbo, and a wedge salad and they were all exceptional. Oysters were a little garlicky, aside from that they were good. I had the Gulf Grouper Cioppino and it was fabulous! My husband had the bowl of gumbo and agreed it was the best he has ever had! Our other party had the Red Fish Jane it was divine! And the Cauliflower Saganaki which really didn't appeal to her but was suggested by someone at the bar-oh well you live and learn. The food was excellent, presented very well, the service was the worst we've had in years. So disappointing. It took us over 30 minutes to get a second drink, ran out of water. Took forever to get our food. We were there for 2 hours...and due to a recent surgery I couldn't finish my meal and requested a go box because I eat very slow. When the waiter brought the check he didn't bring my to go box. He came back to pick up the tab and we brought it to his attention and he I indicated someone threw it away. I guess he thought we wouldn't notice???but he did make it right and made another dish that was discarded. I will definitely go back because the food is so good and I feel maybe they were under staffed on this particular night...I hope. Maybe next time get a different waiter. And let me mention that every table was seated, not every other table, every table. People were walking around the bar area with no mask on. The bar was packed, every seat was seated, not every other, no social distancing going on. If you are worried about Covid, I probably would not go at this time, My husband and I have had Covid so it was not that big of a concern for us. read more

First, I only have 2 pictures because we were with friends & food was so delicious, kept eating (ok they also make really good alcohol slushy drinks..if you go & they have the blackberry one-ORDER it!) My husband ordered their wedge salad (which he said was good). We shared the house cut Caet Fries. The picture below is them. So yummy! I also had their broiled oysters (pic below), my only regret is I ordered a 1/2 dozen instead of a dozen. I won't make that mistake again. The garlic parm on them WOW, unbelievable flavor. In my opinion topped all the ones I had in New Orleans! For dinner & don't worry we will back their soon & I will take a picture because I will order this again-Redfish Anna. OMG. The lump crabmeat on top of a perfect redfish, was absolutely delicious! In fact the 2 friends that joined us took my recommendation on the broiled oysters & redfish anna, they were also very impressed. Also need to give Tyler a shoutout, he took great care of us! I loved CAET in it's old location and was skeptical when it moved. I'm happy to say they've only expanded on what they were already doing so well--delicious food, great cocktails, and good service. Their happy hour menu is from Mon-Sat 3-5:30 p.m. and includes options for beer, wine or cocktails as well as food and small plates. I had the CAET signature salad which was greens, candied pecans, grapes, pickled red onions, and goat cheese fritter with a sherry vinaigrette and all I can say is I'm already planning my next trip back to have it again. My husband and I went here to eat to celebrate my birthday. We had a reservation and were seated promptly on arrival. The ambiance is classy but somewhat casual. We had a very friendly and informative waitress. For an appetizer we had the special for that night, which was sea scallops over spinach. They were delicious! I had the filet for my entrée and my husband had the tuna, both were good. For dessert we split the bread pudding with bourbon ice cream and it was absolutely amazing! read more

We went to eat at CAET on Friday, December 10th. There weren't any open tables, so we sat at the oyster bar. Our food and service were fantastic! We had salad, oysters, shrimp and grits and tuna a la plancha, and all of it was top notch. Our sever Makayla, was excellent and a joy to speak to. We will definitely be back. read more

the owner of Caet Jennifer is one of the rudest restaurant owners I have ever encountered . be aware.!!! I called to discuss being short changed at their other restaurant Walkers and she was exceedingly rude. details: i gave the waiter a $100 bill for a $19.35 lunch. I was given $80 change missing the 65 cents. I courteously explained and was told that's the way they handled change! cheating a customer is cheating regardless of the amount! the waiter said be didnt have the change then came back with 48 cents! then finally came up with the 65 cents. I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable. I then explained to the assistant mgr. he was nice but only offered to give me a dollar rather than the change. NO offer of a complimentary meal to make up for the really embarrassing situation in which I was placed. the owner Jennifer became belligerent and rude when I explained. NO APOLOGY and told me I was overdone for expecting a comp meal for the terrible awkwardness I dealt with. be aware of their restaurants and nasty attitudes at Walkers and Caets in Jackson Mississippi. they are missing GRACE. read more

My wife hosted her Mom's 87th birthday party last night at Caet. She made her Mom's cake and brought it to dinner. The hostess told her that there was a $25 charge since they would not order dessert. The cake went to the car.$500 ticket. No dessert was ordered. Party of 8 left angry. Go to Caet to buy food. Do not go to Caet for a good experience because the staff and management do not care how you feel. I reached out to Dereck, Jennifer, and Effie. None of them responded. read more

WORST restaurant I've EVER experienced!! The owner is clearly a racist. Apparently, when you don't want to serve people, you can simply make up a story that justifies treating "certain" customers like they are insignificant and disposable. The restaurant overbooked, and left 12 people who where there to celebrate at 67th birthday, standing for over 30 minutes even though there was a reservation. Meanwhile, party after party were being seated right before their eyes. And the hosting staff were unthinkably rude and dismissive when asked about being seated. This breaks my heart as it reminds me that MS and some people in it have not changed. read more

I visited CAET years ago at their old location and loved it. The charcuterie, cauliflower steaks, and everything we tried were delicious. I returned today at the new (lovely) location. I had a delicious grapefruit cocktail, followed by an appetizer for dinner - the same from my first visit - Cauliflower Saganaki - roasted cauliflower steak with tomato and feta. It is hard to express how good this is. Simple, healthy, filling - even non-vegetarians like myself will love it. It's a thick well cooked cauliflower slice topped with juice roasted tomatoes, melting Feta, herbs and sauce. Just divine. There is so much more on the menu I can't wait to try, but it's hard to beat a winner like this! read more

It was hard to initially wrap my head around getting delicious seafood in the same location that formally housed Seafood Revolution (the Jackson area provider of highly over priced, mediocre seafood), but that is exactly what happened. The turtle soup is the best I've had outside of New Orleans, the main dishes were very generous, and the fish was done perfectly. My only regret was not getting dessert, but I was just too full! Service was meh. The Jackson hot catfish was a great small plate, cooked crispy and perfect amount if hear. All the rest was pretty poorly done. 3 people that ordered the 6oz filet couldnt even finish it, poorly seasoned, dry. They brought out a cold plate of truffle fries ... really? I the wahoo special... was a 4-5 oz portion and i couldnt finish it... its hard to mess up fresh fish but was overcooked, dry, the accompaniments weren't great. All in all probably wont go back. Toasted sourdough bread served with melty pimento cheese and topped with a warm bacon jam. I'm still thinking about that bacon jam. This may be one of my favorite apps ever. // SECOND DISH - Charcuterie - We love a good charcuterie! We really liked the variety on the board​ but wished that it had more meat. // THIRD DISH - CAET House Salad - Salad Days' lettuce, a fried goat cheese fritter (!!!!! SO GOOD) candied walnuts, red grapes, pickled onions with a sherry vinaigrette. This is the best "house" salad I've had. Ever. // FOURTH DISH - Filet - Wood-grilled​ with a red wine sauce, this steak was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. // FIFTH DISH - Hangar Steak - Cooked in a cast-iron​ skillet, served sliced and topped with a blue cheese butter. Mmmmm. // SIXTH DISH - CAET House-Cut Fries - Served with 3 sauces (chipotle ketchup, honey mustard, duck fat aioli), these things are hard to stop eating. Like, I could have eaten my weight in them. // SEVENTH DISH - Blondie + Coffee Ice Cream - Honestly, we were really stuffed after eating everything else on our table. But, we just couldn't pass up dessert, and this blondie hit the spot. Served warm and topped with caramel and chocolate sauces and coffee ice cream. This was the perfect ending to a perfect meal! We went to the new Caet on a Saturday night. I was worried about how they would fill such a large restaurant when the fondren location seemed significantly smaller.... but that place was BOOMING. There were people waiting outside who didn't have reservations.. the bar was full... the outside patio was full. This restaurant is going to do great. We had the crab fondue and the broiled oyster sampler..... both were amazing. We had the grouper and the scallops for our entrees. We split them both. The scallops came with some black type of rice and they were life changing. I will get that every time if they stay on the menu. We finished with the coconut 3 milk cake. It was also amazing. Overall, the night was fabulous and we will be back! read more

I cannot give a full review as we just had salads and drinks. I will say the service was excellent. The bacon wedge salad is one I would go back for and the lovely glass of Pinot was the best I have had in years....mind you it was spendy. 4oz pour for $12, but it was a nice treat. Otherwise the menu is very expensive and you pay for protein and sides separately ($6+ per side). If you wanted a lovely albeit expensive dinner then this would be high on the list. read more

Visited recently and overall the experience was just ok. A lot of wine on tap to chose from and also a nice bottled wine selection. I hate I didn't take pictures of our food because I was a little surprised by the pimento and cheese plate. Not what I expected at all, honestly it didn't look or taste anything related to pimento and cheese. Super rich with a very heavy sauce for an appetizer. The charbroiled oysters were ok, they were more of a baked oyster, not grilled. We both had a wedge salad, those are hard to mess up. We also both ordered a filet, medium. They were both medium but honestly my husbands did not resemble a filet at all. His cut was on the tough side and heavy on the demi glacé. We had the 6 layer chocolate ganache cake and we opted for the coffee ice cream to go with it. The cake was good as was the coffee ice cream. Overall, drink selection 8/10 food 5/10. read more

Where to start on the menu! Here are a few highlights Turtle Soup- the best you'll eat outside of Commander's Palace Crispy Lobster Rolls- SO tasty! Could be a meal unto themselves Shrimp Po-Boy-I'm normally not a person that orders sandwiches @ a place like this, but WOW! As good as any po-boy in New Orleans. Had the opportunity to visit Caet in their new location at Highland Colony twice this week. The soft shell crab with fresh pico de gallo and butter sauce was to die for! The small Charcuterie plate was wonderful and enough for 3. They have a great assortment of fresh oysters on the half shell and you can mix or match from the list. Their wine list is Wine Spectator recognized. David the manager and Saul our waiter both nights could not have been better; very attentive, but not intrusive. It is vying for my favorite high end restaurant in the metro area that has several contenders. Give them a try and ask for Saul as your server you won't be disappointed! read more

Food was great, but that doesn't make up for the absolutely atrocious service and management. I think we sat at our table for a solid 20-30 minutes before a waiter even showed his face. Luckily we had already gotten drinks at the bar, so didn't think much about it at first. We went to CAET for a celebration. We had a total of 8 people, however, one of the guests stayed for 20 minutes and did not order food or drink. When we asked for our separate checks, they told us they can't split checks when there are 8 or more people. There were SEVEN people at the table and only SEVEN people who ordered food or drink. When asked to speak with a manager, she stomped up and was the rudest human being I've ever had the displeasure of speaking to. They stated they cannot split the check because it was their strict policy that they didn't have the decency to tell us about when arriving for our reservation. They said they could split the check "evenly" three ways, but apparently it was beyond their skill level to split it appropriately between each guest and their respective items. So rude. So unprofessional. 100% will not be returning. read more
