Had a cuban last week, good taste on the pork But ! The sandwich was crushed in the press, lettuce was seaweed from the heat. The original people had the sandwich build on par. Bread an meat to the press, only the weight of the top, not mashed, after toasting then lettuce & any other garnish added per request. Perfect! Three fingers tall. I ordered a traditional Cuban sandwich with fries to go. The sandwich was good, but I have one suggestion. It'll probably be best to put parchment paper or foil before you put hot food, especially fresh fries in the foam togo container especially if it's going to look like this. I added fries to give my toddler but refused to give him after I opened it and saw what it looked like. Overall service and sandwich were great. read more

Me and my kids came here and everyone is very happy. The smoothies were very good and the empanadas were amazing.

Staff wasn't friendly and not good with communicating, well more like listening skill, bc she tried to take my order but wouldn't let me finishing my request on my order and overtalked. So ended up my son is the only one eating, and we're a party of three. According to my son, he said food was mediocre considering the place claimed they're "authentic". Will not go back. read more

I got a basic Cuban sandwich. While it was being prepared, a fellow who appeared to be the manager, rang up the order and spun the screen around which was asking for a tip! What the...! For what? Absolutely classless. The meat on the sandwich was pre-prepared: sliced layered and put in the fridge some time ago it seemed. Horribly compressed, cold even after hot pressing, and slightly rancid. Recipe's changing since new owners! This use to be the best empanada in Tampa Bay until the new owners took over and cut it down by half the size. Now it's more shell and 1/3 of the meat. Unfortunate ...they have cheaped out and ruined the best empanada in the Bay Area! read more

The food is incredible. The service is top notch! The staff behind the counter is always smiling and polite. They are very friendly and instantly I felt as if I was with family. I always get the baked chicken and lots of GREAT tasting veggies or rice and beans! It's always fresh and always delicious. I will be coming back to cafe cuba a couple times per week! The food here is way overpriced. They will upcharge you at the register too as their prices aren't posted so make sure you ask for a receipt to show you were charged correctly. I was charged an empanada price ($3.50) for about 15 French fries. Food is decent but choices are very limited. The owner is nice but quite pompous. If you go there with mediocre expectations and are ok with paying a good bit of money for a lesser amount of food then you should be fine. read more

Best Cubans around! Great fries too. I would come back every day if I could. My husband is not a fan of Cuban food, but I love it. So when I said we should go there he was really reluctant. After we got our Cuban and tasted it we both were sold! It's a bit pricey, but we shared one Cuban and fries so it was really only about $5 per person. I'm still dreaming about that sandwich! Tucked in the corner of a strip mall, shared with a gym and harbor frieght, I found a delicious Cuban eatery. One could assume they are mainly a take out place by the way it was set up. This is exactly what my hubby and I did. There are tables and chairs to sit in if you feel like dinning out. I like options :) After a long hard ponder at the amazing selections, I decided on the pulled pork roast, yellow rice and green beans. The rice was exactly what I hoped for. Firm and flavorful, cooked perfectly. The green beans were good, nothing to write home about. The pork was the star. It melted in my mouth. It had that built in flavor only a slow cooked roast can achieve. It paired well with the Cuban bread which was warmed and buttered. Definetly a home cooked meal feel, but in the best possible way. As other reviewers have said, this lady will over charge you at the register. Cubans are on the menu and website for $6.99 ea, I called and order 4 for take out and the the total was $35. Once I had left and realized the discrepancy, I stopped back by and confronted the lady. She said that the prices displayed were old and her food prices have been raised. Also tacked on another $2 extra for tomatoes and lettuce. read more
