We both ordered the plantains. I ordered the Moro rice (rice and beans) and my dad ordered the yellow rice. Comes with a basket of buttery Cuban bread. My kids ordered the chicken tenders and fries. First time eating at this establishment and if friends hadn't brought us here, I wouldn't even have known about it. The dining area is super simple, with maybe a dozen tables. There are daily specials and a nice menu. Prices are very reasonable. I started with a beer, and ordered the pork with onions and had a choice of 2 sides. I chose yucca and yellow rice. Our food arrived timely, and everything was nice and hot. The pork was tender and flavorful and lots of onions which I loved. The yucca and the rice were equally as good. We ordered yucca fries as an appetizer and cuban wanna be and salad with avacado and side of yucca. The fries were great and the sauce even better. The Cuban Wanna Be was good with pulled pork. The salad was fair and asked if I wanted avocado but did not say it was an uncharge of several dollars. The yucca was not good, lacked flavor, very disappointed. Little Habana Cafe is my fave Cuban restaurant in the Tampa Bay Area. Everything I've had here has been soooo delicious!! They also have the best Cuban sandwich. My hubby & I try to bring all of our visitors here because it's that good! Lechon Asado, oxtail (rabo encendido), bistec Encebollado (beef topped with onions) are just some of my fave meals that I've had here. The service has always been good. You don't need to drive into tampa to get great Cuban food. It is right here in Riverview! My family and I got a lunch special (half Cuban white bean soup and plantain chips, half Cuban rice and beans as plantain chips, full Cuban and plantain chips). My mouth was watering on the way home to eat. The white bean soup alone was to die for! The Cubans are perfect! The lady at the front was super nice and very helpful when ordering over the phone so I can't wait to eat in and see the service. For lunch on a Wednesday, the place was semi busy, but service was fast! I can not say enough wonderful things about this place! I reached out to Tanya after admiring the menu on line, about potentially hosting a bridal shower with 18-20 people. She responded quickly and was the easiest and most kind human I have worked with in a long time to plan an event. She gave me feedback, sent me menus, had a beautiful space organized for the shower for us, and was in constant communication so that everything was simple and easy and the guest just had to show up. The space was wonderful and the food and service were even better. Tanya put together a small menu we could order from, and we all left having enjoyed an excellent meal with left overs. They give you 4 slices of buttered cuban bread and the Cafe con Leche is perfect. I visited Little Habana Cafe today for lunch with a group of 8. The staff was super helpful when we arrived to help us find a way to sit together. The restaurant is not large and there are only a few ways that 8 can be seated on the fly. We were lucky that it was a really nice day and they had two tables outside. They quickly set up the tables outside for us and from there on were very accommodating to the group. They did not complain about separate checks even though it can be a pain. I ordered the Croquetas Preparad, a classic Cuban sandwich with two ham croquettes on the actual sandwich. The bread was fantastic but I could not really taste the ham croquettes unfortunately, I was hoping for something mind blowing. I also shared the appetizer called Loaded Tostones which were crispy plantains topped with Picadillo and melted cheese, they were good but I was thinking this was going to be a more nacho style dish. Hands down the most authentic Cuban restaurant I've eaten at since leaving Miami. A Cuban sandwich with salami?!... that's simply an imposter. They make Cuban sandwiches the RIGHT way, salami not included. I especially love their vaca frita (or should I say vaca loca). We eat from here on a weekly basis and I'm so thankful for that.
