I was pleasantly surprised with Cafe Kyra! Our barista was very friendly and made our drink quickly. My friend and I shared a Large Thai Coffee and it was perfect for the two of us. The drinks here are consistent and made to order. Mocha is their bestseller according to the staff. Boba is delightfully soft with a subtle chew. Perfect smoothies for hot humid days! Cafe Kyra has been here for years and there's clearly a reason why! Their drinks are solid, with my favorite being their Thai Coffee. Be warned, this drink is not for the weak. The caffeine hits you at the first sip and the coffee is pretty sweet. But it's somehow addictingly good. I would highly recommend getting the regular size over the large though, unless you're sharing. read more

Something cool brewing here... You can find Café Kyra at the foot of Don Quijote's front door and this little red shack with yellow and red awning is a statement along with huge signs picturing the freshly made drinks weather it's coffee, espressos, shakes, smoothies and teas and with the huge choices of add ons from whip cream, syrups, milk alternatives and even yup tapioca you can make any drink into a boba dream treat. The gentleman behind this kiosk is delightful and friendly...too friendly that he was chatting with the guest for a seriously long time as I was obviously standing right behind her starting to look annoyed knowing this he continued to chat and it was just random conversation nothing in relating to her order which I was ready to give up the guest was finally done. I ordered Green Tea Smoothie which had all the flavors and wasn't too sweet...tasted okay but the long wait probably ruined my mood for it and really was done after a few sips. There may be a fine line to interrupt a conversation when someone is waiting may differ from others but if it's nothing to do with the order and/or is a personal friend there is a moment to just not let the other person wait unnecessarily. read more

This is located right outside of Don Quijote. They only sell drinks, mostly smoothies and coffee. The girl working there told me that they could add boba to any drink. We picked up two drinks today. We got the coconut smoothie with boba and mango smoothie with boba. They were both really good. I asked if the mango smoothie was made from powder or real fruit. She responded that it was made from mango puree. I always prefer real fruit over powder. However, if powder is all they have I'll take it. read more

The coffee here is delicious (and I love the matching red cups to the kiosk). They even have a cafe breve, which I don't see everywhere and is a favorite of mine. They have cold brew and smoothies, which are no doubt amazing, but I was so blown away with the quality of the coffee I never got a chance to try it. This is a few blocks from the convention center, and worth the walk over. A far superior option than any chain coffee store. Service is fast, too, and the staff are kind and even remembered our orders one more to the next. There's also a good bakery facing the kiosk, so you can get food and coffee in the same location, even if Kyra's doesn't have food options. read more

Smoothies and coffee drinks in Honolulu, Hawaii... "Cafe" might not be the best word to describe this vendor. They don't serve food nor snacks if you're looking for some... Located at the entrance to Don Quijote on Kaheka Street, everyone has to pass by this little kiosk. I don't know why I've never noticed it before but I went three days in a row... I was encouraged by the Stamp Card - especially because it thanked customers for supporting a small business! On my first visit, the friendly gal told me that the three non-dairy smoothies were mango, strawberry, and peach. I got the Mango Smoothie which was really good and fruity! During my second visit, the gregarious male worker said that he could make any smoothie non-dairy by using almond or oat milk. I chose the Taro Smoothie with oat milk. He let me take a whiff of the container of powdered taro. Haha! The nice gal was working when I last visited. I told her that the guy worker made me the Taro Smoothie with a powder. She said that the strawberry, mango, and peach smoothies are made with fruit puree. Ahhh... I got the Strawberry Smoothie and the Iced Cafe Mocha. Yum! I wanted to try a coffee drink. The chocolate syrup takes the bitterness out of the coffee! Yay! I really like this small business. Please support because they're hard workers and are very good to their customers. I'm so pleased to find how friendly and helpful the young man that was working at the counter was to my family. He was very respectful and offering suggestions of what the order. My daughter Kyra was totally captivated by the fact that this place is named the same way she spells her name. I like the fact that the juices and the smoothies and things that come out of here are all made from fresh fruit and fruit juices, and not sugar that's been refined. These beverages are so refreshing on a hot day when you just want to make your tongue happy by tasting all the fruits. You can go from tropical to just standard fruit in the same drink if you wish. My favorite was asking for the mixed fruit blend and I enjoyed every 2nd of it. We were visiting our daughter who lives around the corner and the customer service was amazing. I didn't catch her name by she was so nice. We went early morning twice and both times our drinks were made perfectly. My husband ordered a cappuchino and I ordered an ice chai. She was so kind to ask my husband if he likes it frothy which he does. They also serve other teas, smoothies, and boba. I may be biased but Cafe Kyra is truly a gem! I've passed by Cafe Kyra countless times whenever I shop at Don Quijote and chuckle at the name every time. It wasn't until I came with my family that they requested we stop by and many pictures later we were able to try their drinks! Cafe Kyra is located right in front of Don Quijote. It is a small stand-alone shop that serves deliciously sweet beverages ranging from coffees, teas, smoothies, and shakes. Their vast menu is posted on the outside with pictures and prices. They have different sizes for their drinks as well as add-ons and dairy alternatives. Service was exceptionally friendly and helpful! The worker noticed us taking photos and asked if my name was Kyra. After I told him he said that the owner named the cafe after his first daughter--how cute! A few pictures later we were ready to order. I asked if they had dairy alternatives and he answered yes (almond and oat milk). I had my eyes on the milk tea and asked if they could use almond milk and he kindly let me sample it before I made my decision! I ultimately got a Medium sized Milk Tea with Bubbles or pearls. My drink hit the spot--milky, and creamy, and the pearls were chewy. My Mom got the Mocha Frappe which had a very present coffee flavor to it. The drink was sweet, chocolatey, and very caffeinated. My Stepdad got the Mixed Fruit Smoothie which looked refreshingly delicious. All of our drinks were made on the spot with quality ingredients and care. The drinks are affordable too! Cafe Kyra is a great place to stop for a refreshing drink before or after shopping in the area. The drinks are tasty, the service is fast and served with a smile, and it's great to support a small local business. One may even imagine lounging in a comfortable sofa with aroma of latte and baked goods. Also there is calming background music with chatters of literary reviews from book clubs. Well...this Cafe is not one of those. Located in front of hustling Don Quixote, a small austere mobile cafe serves smoothies, coffee, tea, and milkshakes. Scott, a super friendly worker (owner?), tells me that their focus is more of desserts when I asked about pure veggie and fruit smoothies. He said the only fruit they have is bananas, but he was very accommodating to use more bananas and less sugary puree for my strawberry banana smoothie. It was delicious, perhaps still a bit too sweet for my palate. I do recommend this place for sweet-tooth yelping friends. This Cafe is off the beaten touristy Ala Moana and Waikiki area, and I'd say it is almost ghetto-chic. It is definitely not for people who like to sport Louis Vuitton purses. The underdog of the town coffee stands. It's conveniently located in front of the don quixote entrance. Coffee is very reasonably priced. The shot to size ratio is generous and you cam really taste the coffee/ caffeine. Smoother than one would expect. No watered down coffee here. Service was quick and they asked if you wantes whip and the type of diary. Latte was well balanced. Iced mocha was quite sweet, but that's expected just by looking at it Tasty dessert in a cup. I've been to this Kiosk before but haven't post anything. Café Kyra right outside of Don Quijote can't miss it. I had their Mocha Frappe and it hit the spot very refreshing when it's hot! I want to say their Frappe is actually better than Starbucks . I must say I'm very faithful to my Starbucks I'm a gold card member I go to to Starbucks 7 days a week and sometimes twice a day and the reason why I said Cafe Kyra frappe is better only because they put 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream! Can you believe that ice cream wow , can't go wrong w/ice cream while Starbucks uses powder flavor. One day at Don Quote I noticed that pearls stopped selling boba drinks. I was not a fan of theirs but then I noticed cafe kyra. There was a single female barista meaning the service was slow but, she was really fast. The honeydew smoothie she made consisted of milk, ice and honeydew flavoring blended together. Overall perfect texture on the drink, not watery and not ice chunks. The flavor was also perfect and boba texture was great! Would come again! read more
