Came here for brunch after massages for a Zen Frenz Weekend with some friends. We're lovers of all things French and Café Luluc had great reviews on Yelp. They're walk in only, so no reservations. They're not huge so I can understand not wanting to deal with reservations. The turnaround time wasn't too bad. There were a few people waiting out front but they all put their names down already so by the time we walked up, it was only about a 15 minute wait and it didn't even feel like that much. Since it was chilly out we sat inside. They were packed everywhere. They have dining inside, out front and out back in their patio area. The place was bustling. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and enjoyed our dishes family style. Mushroom and Asiago Cheese Omelet - very tasty but I would have loved to have a bit more cheese in the omelet. The omelet comes with fries and greens but if you don't want the fries, you can just ask for double greens and that applies to anything that comes with a fry side. The fries are shoestring, well-cooked and crisp. Scrambled Eggs w/Smoked Salmon & Scallion - this was a nice dish but I wish the eggs weren't so dry. I like a wetter scramble. I had double greens with this dish. Chickpea Salad w/Shrimp - OMG this salad is amazing! The dressing is so good and everything just worked well with each other. I'd probably order this on my next visit. Eggs Benedict - this was a solid dish, perfectly poached eggs and silky hollandaise atop English muffins with ham. Merguez Sausage - I'm happy I ordered two sides because every one loved them. They were served with mustard and another sauce, both great accompaniments. Pancakes - we ordered this for us all to share because their pancakes are really good. They're caramelized, crisp and fluffy. You don't even need much syrup. They're served with fresh fruits on top. Two are enough for one person. We all were able to have a taste. Carlos was our server and he was super attentive, despite there being a full house. The food hit the spot. We went for a early brunch and we waited for about 30 mins to be seated. I recommend going early/with time before you're starving because you'll likely have to wait a little as the dining room isn't too big. We ordered the pancakes with berries and they were hands down some of the best I had. The edges were crispy and they were so fluffy. I ate the whole serving by myself lol, but I recommend splitting them and getting another plate to share like the egg options. Came here for brunch mid week around 11 am and had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The pancakes were absolutely phenomenal! I would say #2 best pancakes in the city for me! Came here with some friends. Not much of a wait surprisingly. The pancake was good, fluffy on inside and semi crispy outside. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict and the egg was WAY too cooked, there were no runny parts to that egg. Cheesesteak sandwich was normal, the meat was a bit on the dry side and a little bland. The Nutella French toast was way too sweet, too much Nutella inside. Overall it's ok place to try for brunch. Get the pancakes! read more

What a cute breakfast spot! My friend wanted to take me here to try the pancakes but I ended up not getting them. However, they seemed like a super popular option because I noticed that a lot of people in the restaurant had seemed to order it! Food - I ended up ordering an egg scramble that had salmon and my friend and I shared french toast with chocolate. The egg scramble was just okay - it was a little salty but tasty. The french toast was also just okay. It was sweet, but nothing stood out about it. Service - The waiters were extremely friendly and the food came out really fast! The space was a little cramped and our plates took up most of our table so they actually combined our table with another so that our french toast was near us. They came to check up on us often and made sure we were comfortable. Environment - The aesthetic of this place is super cute! The design of the floor, the sliding doors, the tables were all super cute. It definitely felt like eating in a cafe in Paris. Went to CAFE LULUc on a Saturday morning with my bf's sister in law for a girl's day / brunch. It was pouring rain and the spot was busy, but we were able to be seated immediately without a wait. We both got the Eggs Benedict with lox and she got the mimosa, while I opted for the bloody mary. I loved that the benedict came with french fries & greens and the portions are pretty large with a decent amount of salmon. I'd say the bloody mary was my favorite part (they use house made mix). We sat in the back patio area which was insulated from the rain and there was a good amount of people back there, but was a little quieter than sitting inside. The service wasn't the greatest, but we felt that there was limited staff for how busy it was. I'd check it out if you're looking for a nice brunch spot on Smith. A brunch spot favorite. The pancakes with fried eggs are my go to meal...dark, thick, hot and flavorful. If only they would provide room temperature butter. THEY ARE NOT LYING ABOUT THE PANCAKES The hassle of having to get cash out was worth the pancakes for sure. Service was pretty timely. The food came out super quick. Hmm, though the service and food wasn't horrible, our friend who picked up the tab for our lunch did not leave a tip and so the waiter came out to confront us about that. We didn't realize our friend did not leave a tip so we went in and made one. However, I see why my friend did not want to leave one, as customers who came in before us were served before us, and we were not really checked upon until we flagged the wait staff down. Food wise, I don't think there was any goat cheese in my spinach and goat cheese quiche, and the salad greens were wilted and why can't you trust us with black pepper. A neighborhood classic with the best pancakes ever. All egg dishes come with a nice salad of mixed lettuces & crispy fries. Back yard dining area in addition to the main indoor space. Whoa what a dope spot to have brunch. Its tucked away on the streets of Bk, I almost missed it. Their menu is extensive, ranging from soup to omelets. Prices are affordable. Most importantly the food is delicious. I've never tried a croque madam before but omg I've been missing out. It's essentially just sunny side up eggs, ham and cheese all over thick sliced bread (croissant in this case). I definitely need more of these in my life. I suggest getting there early because the wait can go from 30 mins to an hour. Came here for brunch on a Monday that fell in a holiday. This place is usually packed to the brim for brunch on the weekend but this day wasn't bad at all. WS able to be seated within 10 mins for a party of 2 around noon. They have a heated outdoor backyard although personally if you get cold easily like I do, I'd wait for a seat inside. I ordered the stuffed French toast with Nutella and fruits with a side of bacon. The French toast honestly tasted like other French toast I've had. They do give you a good amount of bacon. I always loved going to cafe luluc. Haven't been in quite some time and was so excited to go. The staff as usual is always great ! Friendly and very attentive! Some of the best pancakes I've had, ever. They were so good we returned again the next day. I ordered an omelette with goat cheese, forgetting that I don't like goat cheese, and at first I did not like it but it quickly grew on me. It was well stuffed with cheese and spinach. The field greens were nicely seasoned, and the fries were good. Laid back ambiance, great for casual brunch. A bit small on space; most tables seemed to be for two, but of course they can push them together for a larger group. Cash only. Will definitely be back. ***3.5 Stars*** I been to this quaint cash-only cafe a few times during COVID because its in a convenient location. Upon entry, you will feel like you are transported to a European cafe with the beautiful decor. The restaurant has indoor, outdoor dining, and a backyard. There is a huge blackboard with specials on the wall but, apparently they don't do specials anymore. I have eaten lunch and dinner here but, during my most recent visit I decided to try their delicious pancakes. My neighbor and I both decided to get pancakes ($12.50) and she got an side of eggs. The pancakes were delicious and came with a generous serving. They were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy in the inside. It was very hard not to devour the entire stack of pancakes in 4 seconds. The side of eggs on the other hand wasn't tasty. It had this weird icky after taste almost like they went bad. I have tried several dishes at this cafe and found most of them to be delicious and filling. The only reason why this cafe doesn't get 5 stars is that the service is the worst. It's impossible to get a waiter and they are very rude. When my neighbor ordered her pancakes and her side, the waiter was checking his watch while rolling his eyes. For a person who is dependent on tips for a living, you would think they would treat their customers better. When we went the cafe was very empty but, our food still took over 45 minutes and no one checked in on us after we got our food. My friend and I dined here for brunch in the outdoor garden patio at the back of the restaurant. The space was quite charming and cozy, with heat lamps and fairy lights strewn all around. It was a nice, inviting, and warm atmosphere. I was trying to decide between the Luluc Cheese Steak and the Nutella French Toast. I normally go for savory, so went a different route and ordered the Nutella French Toast. The french toast was stuffed with Nutella and was served with strawberries, blueberries, banana slices, sprinkling of powdered sugar, as well as a drizzle of Nutella. The french toast was expertly made and perfectly moist. There was plenty of delicious Nutella oozing out of the french toast. I enjoyed tasting the Nutella in each mouthwatering bite. Service was great throughout. The waiters were friendly and on top of it. Even though the brunch was really tasty, there is a part of me that didn't feel as satisfied compared to when I have a savory entrée. Ive always loved Brasseries...I mean where else can you have a great Martini and a cheese omelette for dinner? Sometimes that's all it takes to satisfy "I'm in the mood for a drink and...?" My friends and I visited CAFE LULUc some time ago and when we sat down and saw no credit cards were accepted we had to leave. Thank God we didn't order and then realize this as the check sits on the table. I mean who carries cash in the Millennium? Tonight we were prepared and happy to say it was worth coming back! If you're like me when in Paris, these are the cafes you love to visit. The ones where you eat fine French food, have great drinks and people watch! LULUC offers great Brasserie food: breakfast all day, salads, burgers, pastas, sandwiches.. you name it, they serve it! My friend and I ordered different dishes: she wanted the chicken sandwich which is housed in a baguette with arugula and dressed with a tomato vinaigrette and a side of fries. The French as we know serve the finest frites. All that's missing is the side of Mayo. I ordered the Mesculin salad with chopped tomatoes, lettuce, cilantro and the most delicious Balsamic dressing. It was dynamite! The portion for $9 was very filling. For my main course, anything with spinach, is my first choice. Thus, the spinach and ricotta ravioli with butter and sage was THE choice for me. I opted to add grilled chicken and glad I did. The ravioli was fresh and delicious and the butter and sage sauce was killer.Light as a feather! For dessert, we shared the warm chocolate cake with a scoop of hazelnut ice cream. The cake was warm with melted chocolate. Unfortunately, it drowned out the taste of the ice cream.. As for the ambiance, it was as if I was dining at a cafe in Paris: banquet seating, small tables well lit, a fully stocked bar and walls that have newspaper like finishes. The service was prompt ( sometimes a bit too prompt, need space between courses), courteous and friendly. Solid brunch place :-) Their menu items are relatively standard/common, but they make it all taste great. My bf and I ordered crab cake, pancakes, and poached eggs with salmon (basically eggs benedict). All of it was delicious, although not particularly special. I really liked how fluffy the pancakes were and the fries that came with the poached eggs were perfect -- crispy on the ends but soft-ish in the middle (yet not soggy). Portions were also pretty good, we were decently full after our meal. We opted for outdoor seating bc of covid, which was a cute little patio area covered on 3 sides with heaters. On Thursday around lunch time, there was no wait at all for outdoor seating and we were the only ones there for a while. They're crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside and just a perfect mouthful of flavor with every bite. I got the Nutella stuffed French toast and it was amazing! The French fries are very tasty as was the smoked salmon with poached eggs. They also have brunch drinks for $7 each. The menu for breakfast kid pretty straightforward, but everyone is raising their pancakes. You can add eggs and sausages to add to the pancake order. My husband got a western omelet that comes with sausages and veggies inside, simple salad and fries, I got the famous pancake dish; I think they added a good amount of soda inside that I could taste a little. But anyway, they were very fluffy inside with a good crust outside; maple syrup covered that hint of soda. I caught up with an old friend who moved to the east coast. This was the perfect spot since we're both foodies. We both enjoyed our order. I don't remember what they were because it's been awhile since I went there. Staff were also friendly and helpful. I think they are known for their pancakes but don't quote me on that. Since atm I'm on keto, I asked them to swap for either a salad or sliced tomatoes. They gave me BOTH a salad and 3 slices of the most delicious, perfectly ripe tomato which was a steal for $11.50. I also ordered a side of breakfast sausages (and ate one before I could even take the picture).
