Stopped to try the Affogato! It was so dang good! First time I've ever had one and it will not be the last!

Can't believe we haven't tried this place sooner!! My new favorite coffee shop/lunch spot in downtown Omaha! Fun to explore the history with all of the photos and artifacts throughout the building. Our sandwiches were sooooo good and thoughtfully made. This would be an amazing spot for an event too.

My new favorite coffee shop to work from hands down. I'm obsessed with the sun room in Cafe Postale and have scheduled many a work with friends session since I found it. I am a big fan of the design of this space - it's nice and quiet, spacious, has big enough tables to work with others, and ample access to charger ports (HUGE). The coffee and service is just as great! They've got rotating specials that are always tasty and some snacks if you need an extra pick me up.

3/5 stars because: I waited 30 minuets for a 12 oz iced latte. There were only 3 people working and they were obviously very overwhelmed. This cafe doesn't have their own coffee, it's the Hardy Coffee Company beans. In a previous review I left I mentioned this coffee is neither bad or amazing. It's a decent coffee. I will give it to them that this iced latte was very good and I liked it a lot. (12 oz iced latte with oat milk and hazelnut + caramel syrup) The cafe itself is very cute, there are multiple areas to sit and work, and it's quiet inside. I would like to go back and get one of their food items and try a cocktail to see what those are like. Overall not a terrible time but not my favorite time.

Cafe postal is my go to coffee place in Omaha. I usually go here to work because it's spacious and has plenty of plugins! The coffee and other drink options are sooo good (they also have alcohol....sometimes I get coffee and stay long enough for a happy hour drink :) I rarely get food but the charcuterie board is actually crazy! we got huge portions of cheese (unless they've changed it since then). It was so worth it to get! The bagel breakfast sandwich is also very good! Their matcha's are always very good! (pictures hot and cold) They have large tables so if you go in a group, you aren't cramped at a small table like other places! The interior is absolutely gorgeous! it's in an old renovated building and has some of that old charm. The patio is quite spacious too! The employees are always super nice and helpful too! Overall, I always recommended this place for those looking for a good coffee shop in downtown Omaha!

I was so happy to find a coffee shop within the downtown area that has space for so many individuals. I was pleasantly surprised to see the variety of seating; from inside couches and tables to outside tables surrounded by plants and fresh air. The workers were so lovely with their recommendations and quality of service. They have mastered the hot chocolate, it was exactly what I needed. I was also appreciative of how clean it was within this space. The building itself is beautiful with the high ceilings and large windows, they do a great job keeping tables clean and clear. I would have to say my favorite part would be all the plants and natural lighting. I may have unlocked my new favorite study spots.

Built in the former Burlington Mail terminal, this cafe has a lot of historic charm. Lots of tables and open spaces for working. They also have multiple food options which is appreciated. I got the cinnamon snap- apple cider, chai and mulling spices, which was a nice fall morning beverage. My friend got the egg bites with salad, which also looked good. Later in the morning, it did get very loud which made it hard to study or hold a conversation

Huge cafe! Lots of seating and areas to hang out. The outdoor area was very pretty. It looks like they also hold private events. The menu is above where you order. The latte was creamy but a tad bitter.

Café Postale is so cute and has so much character! I absolutely love the inside. There is so much seating, windows, plants, green decor, and vintage canvases. It has a lot of charm to it and is such a great place to hangout. I also love that they have events there such as a flea market. You can also rent the space for weddings or other events which is really cool! My iced mocha is SO good here and I tried the vegetarian omelet sandwich which is also good! My husband really likes the everything bagel sandwich. Service here has always been great and fast even when busy. I have recommended Café Postale and definitely will continue to! Such a great spot in downtown Omaha and one of my favorite places in Omaha. A must go to place!

Love studying here! Great environment, lots of seating, good natural light, great food & drinks! Coffee, matcha, teas are all great choice.

Love the open space in this cafe. Is just gets really busy and packed quick. Still trying to find my favorite place for matcha and this spot was pretty good! Not my all time favorite but would come back again for the matcha drinks. They always have interesting seasonal drinks that are fun to try as well.

I love the people who work here. They are genuinely so nice I would come back just for them. The coffee wasn't my favorite and neither was the chai, but it didn't seem like it was made wrong. Just not my personal favorite I like my drinks more sugary. It's a really cute spot lots of room to sit inside and outside. The tables are big enough you could bring a computer and hang out for a while. Looks like a great spot for private events too.

If Cafe Postale was closer to me I fear I would be in here every single day!! It had been on my list for a while but I finally got around to trying it out with my Omaha coffee passport. First of all, what a gorgeous building!! It used to be a mail depot and maintains all of that really cool historical charm. It's also HUGE, which is really nice. Plenty of seating and tables to choose from. I've been using my coffee passport as sort of a 'tour de vanilla lattes' because I think it's a good classic to try out the quality of a new coffee shop, and I was definitely impressed at Cafe Postale! One of the better lattes I've had; I thought both the espresso taste and the creamy flavor were very good. I know I will be back for the amazing ambience and high quality coffee. They also have food, snacks, and even serve alcohol; a really versatile spot if you're in the downtown area!

In a good way, of course. She did allow me to share her Maple Braised Bacon (meaning that I was able to snatch a piece while she wasn't looking). Really, really fine, something I'd definitely order again. For me. Not to share. I had the Schnitzel Bennie with tart cherry jam and lemon hollandaise. Sound unusual? Tasted great! My only gripe was that the pork cutlet was a bit small and could have used a bit more seasoning in the breading. Would I order it again? You betcha! Service was fast and efficient. The decor was quirky and inviting but the space was loud enough that it was really hard to carry a conversation. Overall rating: yahoo!

My husband is a much harsher critic than I am, and he gave it a "rare 5.5 out of 5." The pancakes were some of the fluffiest I've ever had. They also have a great selection of coffee flavors to choose from, which was a fun bonus. The coffee paired perfectly with breakfast, though I probably wouldn't come here just for the coffee alone. The flavor was good but it did have a slight burnt taste. A quick note: you order at the counter before sitting down. It's a mix of self-serve and sit-down service. You order at the counter, grab your own silverware, and seat yourself, but they bring your food and drinks out to you (other than water). I do wish they were a bit more attentive about clearing finished plates during the meal. The restaurant was so busy that the line was out the door when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly fast. Ok the other hand, the service is rather iffy & unpredictable. The chicken & waffles is my go-to for each visit, and they have many types of delicious sides to choose from, with my favorites being the biscuits & berries, goat cheese grits, and also the fried green tomatoes. I have zero problems with the food that they serve here, they always do an excellent job at preparing whatever they need to prepare & the portions are always satisfactory. As for the service, there are days where you will receive perfect service while on others the service is not so great. Some days you will be attended to in a timely manner, while there is other days where there isn't anyone available or willing to seat you somewhere. I've also experienced instances where they didn't attend to our table to take orders until I made a complaint. Most of these instances were during days where the place was virtually empty so it's not because of the place being busy. I've also ordered take out from here before, again some instances are perfect and there's other instances where they don't tell you if a certain food is out of stock via text or call so if you ordered something that isn't in stock, you're forced to wait for them to prepare something else once you arrive to pick up your order. They also don't always include syrup or butter in the takeout bags for chicken & waffles. One minor thing I'm also disappointed about is how the portion of grits has lessened over time, going from being served in a bowl to instead being served in a small cup/mug. Overall, I certainly don't return for the service because you never really know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day for that. It's always the food that brings me back. I do want to like this place, and I do to an extent but again the service is always unpredictable. I'd still say the food is worth coming here to see how it goes.

If you live here, well then, lucky you! Our servers carefully detailed the menu and let us taste a new wine prior to ordering. The dinner service manager is knowledgeable and passionate about the dining experience. When we ordered the radicchio salad, I was skeptical that it would be bitter, but was curious to try it. They were fairly busy, and honestly our food took a bit to come out, but I am still giving a five due to the overall experience and quality of service. Our server Melannie was fantastic and always present. We did the bottomless mimosa deal (3 out of 4 of us) and she was always coming around asking us what flavor we wanted next when our current was still half full to make sure we got our moneys worth. The champagne might not be the fanciest, but for $20 bottomless mimosas I'll take it. They have fun flavors in addition to the basic ones like strawberry, mango, etc. which adds an element of fun. For food--there were several things I was eyeballing but landed on the spicy chorizo Benny. It was really good, eggs cooked perfect, and came with hashbrowns. Another at our table got the poutine which also looked yummy. I'd say the food portion could have included a bread/toast option, however If brunching in Omaha i'd return to try several things on the menu. The vibe inside is chill, would be more fun sitting outside once the weather warms up. Since I was the one that booked the reservation, the tab got a bit confusing. At first they were taking it off my total, then the server said that hold would come off so I paid for my meal/drinks there. I did end up getting double charged (for both the reservation hold and my meal) which was cleared up with a quick phone call to their establishment---apparently it is a new process they are trying. I do understand though why they wouldn't want to just deduct the hold as then people that don't know how to tip wouldn't tip on the total, which hurts the server. All was cleared up regarding this mishap though so no complaints.

May 25th, 2026 Food:…read moreWaited a whole hour for an easy order... which was a mini charcuterie board with a plate of avocado toast... when it was served... it looked pretty and at first I didnt mind about the long wait, but I was disappointed because it tasted like it was made an hour ago but was barely being served to me a whole hour later.. so yeah.. not worth it and now I do mind.. a soggy toast isn't on my list.. Ambiance: It was a nice regular refreshing bar/brunch spot. But safety was a HUGE issue which is where I'll get to my point of this low rating. Service: Is negative zero a thing? That goes to the owner... the 1 star is for the decent service my server attended towards me. In unfortunate events it's not the servers fault.. but overall with the owner coming out, couldnt be anymore careless.. The Cause: Either the owner or a staff employee whomever that is responsible for setting up the patio umbrellas, and I mean those large heavy metal patio umbrellas, well, they failed to lock the pole of the umbrella and unfortunately the umbrella lifted and blew away and had hit a family in the face that were dining there also; instant noticeable bruising to the face... I was only a table away from them.. it could have been me too. I am disappointed in the lack of care in general that surrounded the scene. Little 5 ft me... was the only one that came to help while everyone else sat around and minded their own business... it took a long while until one of the staff noticed to help and then the owner came out and awkwardly said a one word-sorry and dipped... didnt come back to offer any hospitality, non-genuine and non-apologetic... it made me lose my appetite. They had the audacity to still charge the family their meal... but I had to tell these really nice folks to make sure they get comped back. It was sickening to me on how careless they were treated. I would never come back! I mean an exaggerating long wait, cold soggy food and careless hospitality from the owner himself. That's three major strikes. P.s. That same wknd.. the news showed up about a South Carolina woman that was struck by a patio umbrella and died on site... that says alot about lacking safety. Yes, search it up. It's real news.. Hope this help improves the business alertness. P.p.s. And although I was disappointed at this dining-bar overall... I still tipped my server a good $20 as the situation was out of their control, my server was still attentive towards me. They all just need social common courtesy in empathy and hospitality. But anyways, my lunch ended with bittersweetness with the family that got struck, they comped my whole meal for genuinely being the only one that was concerned for them. The only service I'm grateful for was that.
