Fig is perfect pit stop to grab coffee and lunch or a snack, particularly for its location (proximity to the Luminarium, Discovery Park, & the airport). The natural lightning and river views help to create a nice and relaxing space, while still casual enough that you don't feel bad bringing kids in. They source pastries from Lola's, and from the main food menu, I typically gravitate towards their hummus plate & grilled chicken. My only small complaint is that the sandwich breads we've tried are a little plain / underwhelming, but I just stick to the salads. Plenty of parking as well, so an all-around gem! read more

I stop here often. It's the best place to eat at Lewis and Clark Landing. It's the only place so I'm glad the food is good. I have been coming here since it opened. In the earlier days, it seemed like some of the menu items were too salty or whatever. But once they got established I have been happy with the experience every time. This is a restaurant attached to a science museum (but it can be entered separately). I go to a lot of museums and this food is miles better than most food you can get at most museums. I like that they offer items from local businesses such as Lola (for baked goods), Grove (juices) and Fermented Felon kombucha. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Windows are huge with a great view of the river. They serve a good iced tea, which can be not so good at other places. Also a nice hot drink selection. I like to go for a walk across the river, then come here and relax with a brownie or a slice of sweet potato cake. There is an entry fee to the museum if you want to go...or you can just meander over to the gift shop for free. It's a really good gift shop, if you are a nerd like me. read more

During the winter it's easy to eat at the convenient, overly fried and greasy places. I am thrilled to have found Fig, where every bite tastes fresh! I stopped in for a company admin meeting and ordered the roasted carrot sandwich and I added an order of fries. This sandwich was so refreshing and everything was cooked perfectly. Ingredients tasted fresh, good presentation, and didn't take long to be made from when I ordered. My only, slight critique for this sandwich would be maybe adding some sort of sauce. The hummus was good but has a pretty neutral flavor. I think the addition of hot honey, chimichurri or something along those lines would really bring this sandwich to the next level. My coworker ordered a Lox Bagel and goodness gracious, that looked good. I might try it next time we meet her for the next admin meeting. This establishment is inside the Luminarium building and has a view of the river. It was clean, pretty and relatively quiet. Great place for a company gathering, or friend get together. This is such a beautiful space! There are great views of the riverfront, and there is plenty of seating, including outdoor seating! It's an open kitchen and bar area so you can see the barista working hard. The menu is simple but most of the best coffee shops have a simple menu. They also had a number of pastries in the window available. that looked great. The Wi-Fi was reliable as I worked there while I enjoyed my vanilla latte. It was a little sweet, so next time I'd just ask for less syrup. Parking was also really easy, which usually can be an issue downtown, but they have plenty of parking for the Luminarium and playground area. The few things I would change would be comfier seating, slightly more affordable prices and mugs without such larger surface area (my latte got cold quickly). I honestly could have posted up to work from there all day and order multiple items, but with the hard seats and higher prices keeping me from order more, an hour or so was good for me. Stopped in for my complimentary coffee from the "Omaha Places Passport", and we stayed for lunch! It is beautiful inside. I got the bowl and my husband got the burger. Even though there is a lot of construction going on along the riverfront right now, this is worth a visit. Whether you eat inside in the light and beautiful dining area, or bring your drink and food outside to the patio, it's a delightful experience. Everyone was friendly and eager to serve. Decided to stop at a small business to get coffee. And everything has been wonderful, it is my third stop. It is the best vanilla latte decaf with oat milk that I have ever had. They have a great menu with lunch: sandwiches soup and snacks and kids menu. Great selection of pastries, gluten-free and they are from Lola's. Located in the new Illuminarium at the waterfront Fig offers a casual yet sophisticated location for breakfast, lunch, small entrees and everything in between all day long with great views. There is a separate entrance to the restaurant that allows you to peek into the gift shop and lobby of the Illuminarium if you don't have time to check out this latest attraction in downtown Omaha. Fig is run by the same owners of Lola's at the film stream in Dundee offering a farm to table with many vegan and healthy food options. Ordering is done at the counter and food is brought to you at the table. Your ticket can be left open so you can keep adding on and do what we did is try almost everything on the menu! Fig offers a wonderful variety of pastries and cakes to accompany their standard venue items and a number of specials that change regularly. Great coffee options with a well trained barista is a nice way to accompany any meal or just grab a refresh in the afternoon along with a light snack. We started with a large cheeseboard for the table in order to allow us to study the menu. Cappuccinos were awesome along with a variety of non-alcoholic beverages are available. All of our food options were creative, fresh, and well prepared. Not your typical American breakfast menu, but definitely a selection that allowed us to try a little bit of everything. Service was exceptionally pleasant, attentive, and interested in ensuring we were satisfied with what we ordered I highly recommend that you stop in and check out this niche location that will definitely get more popular once all the access roads are open by the riverfront. It is connected/adjacent to the Luminarium. Fig is very open with high ceilings. There is great views from every vantage point of the riverfront and the nearby playground. I had a cortado to drink and then the daily quiche which featured chorizo with potatoes, cilantro, and onion. It came a small salad with vinaigrette. You order at the counter and then given a number. I don't know if it's required; but I then bussed my own dishes. The space is quite nice. I got the feeling that, probably because it's so new, that they are still working out some issues. We went to visit for lunch over winter break when kids were out of school, maybe our mistake. It was packed and our food took forever. It's hard to find. I walked around the entire Luminarium because unfortunately I parked on the far end (away from the playground). For your reference, it's closest to the playground. Better signage would be helpful. The food was mediocre at best and definitely overpriced. I paid $25 for a cup of tomato soup and a mushroom grilled cheese thinking it'd be elevated or something. Nope. Just expensive. Maybe I ordered wrong. But I mean $25? I will say the ambiance is nice. Lots of light and space. I would simply recommend a coffee and pastry here.
