First time visiting today. Will definitely go back. The large iced caramel lattes come with 3 shots already which is perfect and rare! Coffee was delicious too not bitter and didn't need a bunch of caramel to cut the taste. Asked for a bagel that was savory and breakfasty left it up to the ladies behind the counter. They made me a bagel with sundried tomato pesto melted mozzarella and fresh spinach. Super delicious! Fast and friendly service cool decor, I could go back and spend a few hours in there. Not super impressed, but perfect if you're looking for a little change from Starbucks and have time to sit. First things first, the coffee itself isn't bad at all. They have a variety of different espresso beverages to choose from that are served piping hot. (Always a plus when your coffee stays warm longer than 1 sip) Cafe Rome serves breakfast sandwiches, but are known for their crepes. A little sweet for my breakfast palette, but not bad. Food takes a bit to come out, but I am pleased to say the worker making food was wearing gloves. Walking in for the first time we weren't greeted or welcomed. Not a deal breaker for me, but definitely a nice touch when trying out a new local place. The lady taking our order wasn't mean, but definitely didn't go out of her way to make us feel welcomed. Price is pretty average. $12 for a latte and a breakfast sandwich. The atmosphere of this place is quiet and calm. Seemed great for doing a little work from the computer, reading a book or visiting with a friend. Parallel parking on the street is hit or miss. I go to school in Merced, but they don't really have a nice cafe that gives a very homey feel, so I decided to come to Turlock and give this place a try. Just walking in, I already loved the feel. It was very warm and cozy, and even my friend who never goes to cafes often loved the place. We ordered 3 different sweet crepes and 3 different drinks. The crepe was worth every penny. It was huge and had a lot of fruits compare to other crepe places I have been to. My friends loved their drinks as well, but I have to say that mine wasn't that great. They tried my drink too and wasn't a fan either. For those wondering, I got a special drink which I believed was called Iced White Raspberry Mocha. I discovered Cafe Rome when I was working downtown a few years ago I always loved their coffee especially their seasonal ones so I've always come for that but recently I've been coming for their crepes! Never had crepes before and my first time trying one was from here! I like how the have and equal amount of sweet crepes to choose from and an equal amount of savory ones. So far I've tried the chicken chipotle and the chicken mozzarella. They are amazing! I don't think I would have tried one else where, the atmosphere is great nice outdoor seating and nice indoor seating. I have come to Café Rome for quite some time now. They are my absolute favorite spot in town. Their matcha is hands down the best I have ever had, and it's even more magical if you get it with espresso shots. I would come here -at least- once a week because the matcha obviously, but also the service. Everyone is so frickin' awesome and nice and even learned my name and order. I am moving now, and this will 100% be the thing I miss most about Turlock. Side note: they do have a new owner now, which sometimes isn't the best. But everything is the same, with the exception of a few new menu items. And I met the owner once and she is pretty nice, so I only see Café Rome getting even better. read more

On the plus side this venue is really well designed, and they seem to have a good variety of teas. On the negative not that impressed with the menu offerings. We came around 5 pm and there were no baked goods, the crepe's station seemed cold, and the staff didn't offer us any alternatives when we asked if there was anything to eat. They have a laissez faire sort of attitude to the whole thing. It probably has a loyal Stan state following and we aren't the right clientele I guess . I'll stick with the Creperie off Fulkerth, they seemed more concerned with providing me with an experience. But I may stop by again for tea and if I'm in the mood to get some work done. so I guess 2.5 stars (with potential) lol. read more

I took my daughter here for lunch. It's a super cute little hip place on main st next to shopping. This was our first time going but we will definitely be back! She got a latte super yummy and a chipotle chicken crepe. I got pizza crepe with blackberry lemonade best lemonade I've ever had. The food was pretty good not hot enough for me but good. I found it weird they had no salt and pepper for customers but after trying my food I didn't need it. The two gals working were very nice! I thought the straight-forward information and deals was very thoughtful from the cashier. I decided to order a expresso mocha drink and a crepe (white chocolate & Nutella). I was very shocked that the cashier moved over to the receiving area to make the crepe in front of me which is a big plus in my books. A facility or restaurant that create their own products in front of their consumers is a good quality for success. I do not have to think that they have to order food products from outside sources. The music and environment are completely relaxful and no complaints about the noise level. Although the clientele for this shop is geared towards the older Turlock population. The cashier did a very good job on checking on the customers who are sitting down and talking to each other. I am a very, very, very, very big foodie for authentic, predominate cultural foods from outside the Central Valley (Mexican and American cuisine), but I was expecting more middle eastern cuisine due to the overwhelming presence of Assyrian population in Turlock. Café Rome did a great job making their food pop with their authenticity and uniqueness cooking methods. Each of their food ingredients seem very fresh and provided a range of flavor in a dish. One of their strongest points with my visit to the coffee shop. Overall, I was very pleased with their customer service. There is so much growth that Café Rome can do to compete with Starbucks and other Turlock Coffee Shops. I understand they are a new coffee shop in the Turlock area, but their business can develop more from new marketing options. Café Rome seems to interest groups of older adults and friends who would like to catch up with their lives. I am confident that I will come back to this coffee shop. This was my second time coming, unfortunately the service today was not that great. The food and drinks are good, I just wish the girls would use the gloves for food only. I experienced a gal who touched my food with one glove and in her other had she was not wearing a glove and began to touch the meat with both glove & no glove. She then puller her pants up with both hands still wearing the glove and continued to touch foods. Also the gals hair was not pulled back.
