On my visit, I ordered the nutella crépe with a few slices of fresh strawberries and banana, topped with chocolate drizzle, powdered sugar and whip cream. The crepe mix was good. I think it would be a lot better if there was an option to add an ice-cream scoop. We also decided to order the iced cinnamon dolce latte. You could definitely taste the "dolce". I wish they went lighter on the sweetener, but it was good. 4/5. The gentleman that helped us out was great. I appreciate great customer service. 5/5. The inside has several seating area. Great for a small meeting, study session, solo date, etc. 5/5.

I have visited Café Rome a few time with my family and we are impressed by both the quality & variety of offerings. The Turkish coffee stood out with its rich, bold flavor and smooth finish--an authentic & satisfying experience. The crepe was generously portioned, delicately sweet, & beautifully balanced in texture. I also tried the pizza bagel sandwich, which was packed with flavor & offered a fun twist on a comfort classic. The breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño bagel delivered a perfect kick, with fresh ingredients & a savory profile that hit all the right notes. To round it all out, the strawberry Red Bull drink was refreshing & flavorful--an energizing treat with just the right touch of sweetness. Definitely a spot worth revisiting for both the quality and creativity of its menu.

Amazing little cafe! Their drinks, food, and service is unmatched. Everything was so delicious. The coffees were the perfect amount of strong and sweet. Also the bagels were sooo good one of the best I've had. Such a welcoming feeling and the workers were so nice. We also got these chocolates from the store and we've only tried a few but they're so good. Little hard to find but I think it was an us problem lol.

Overall amazing service! Staff are absolutely nice and accommodating. Not to mention the crepes! Usually when I get crepes at other places they are too sweet and rich to where I can barely eat it. But cafe Rome's Nutella crepes are the perfect amount of sweetness. Batter is perfect! Café Rome is such a cute spot with really good coffee and a great selection to choose from. I found it while visiting family and looking for something different than the usual chain places. Now, every time I'm in town from the Bay Area, I make sure to walk over with my mom. We usually sit out on the patio, they have a cute little spot that's perfect for relaxing. Their customer service is always really great and accommodating with our drinks. The woman who's usually there is so sweet and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!

We were in town shopping for furniture and decided to try this place out since it has good reviews & I love crepes! Overall, it was good. The crepe I chose was the dulce de leche with bananas and strawberries. Service was ok. This is where my stars went down. I walked up super happy to be there because it's my birthday & the day is just getting started. The lady taking my order was polite & made some coffee suggestions. I went for the traditional Cafe de hoya & the crepe mentioned above. I'm new to this place & it was pretty obvious. When my food was ready, I had to come up to the front register to pick it up. Being brought to my table would have been nice. The crepe came with no cutlery, coffee came with no cream or sugar, but I did notice up against the side of the register there's a small spot where sugar & stir sticks are available. So I had to get up again from my table to grab these items. Being told where I could find cutlery, sugar, creamer and such would have been nice. When I asked for creamer, the lady gave me this adorable little Mexican pottery cup with creamer. I think overall, the concept is good for this place, but the execution needs a little work. Even just telling your customers where to find these items would be nice. Anyway, hopefully, the staff just steps it up a bit more. Wishing your business nothing but success!

They are at a different location now, just down the street from the addresscurrently listed here on Yelp! The food was not bad at all. We enjoyed the drinks as well. Service was fine and the atmosphere is nice. We were glad to try it!

Located in Downtown Turlock sits Café Rome. This quaint little café provides a cute welcoming atmosphere, service, and delicious food! The dark wooden interior reminds me of a cozy cabin. The staff are welcoming and can carry on a great conversation. The menu has great varieties but not enough to overwhelm you. But let's talk crepes... that's their niche, delicious stuffed crepes! I ordered their buffalo chicken crepe. It was stuffed with plenty of grilled chicken slices and smothered with their amazing chipotle sauce. You'll need a fork and knife for that one because you'll want to scoop up all that amazing sauce. Their mocha coffee is also superb. Definitely coming back if I'm ever in the area again!

Stopped by this morning for the second time, beautiful modern chic decor. Comfy environment, nice staff, I had the mozzarella tomato savory crepe...& Turkish coffee....so good. Great place to eat and hook up to WiFi to get some work done. This place is legit! The interior design inside is beautiful with a dark rustic look, old-Italian feel with a dim setting. My friend took us here for some good Turkish coffee. Key highlights were how they served the coffee in traditional small cups and copper cezve. The turkish coffee is slightly sweet with a nice amount of grounds at the end. The chai tasted like a Costco powdered mix. Pretty sure whatever it was made out of was not vegan. Who knows what was in it. The menu had 0 options for vegan people. The bakery items also looked like they came from Costco. The people behind the counter kept offering me dairy products despite me telling them I'm vegan. read more

FYI to oat milk lovers: i'm 90% sure they use oat creamer and not oat milk. i got a matcha latte w/ oat milk and couldn't figure out why it tasted so thick and strange. i finished 1/2 my drink before realizing it tasted like chobani oat milk creamer. i have a problem with high-fat foods and let me tell you, my experience with the matcha latte exactly replicated my issues with chobani oat milk creamer. i'm still recovering from the encounter. my gut feels horrible. like so horrible i'm going to have to take tomorrow morning off work. overall cute atmosphere. would be a great place to do homework. my pro tip is to not order the oat milk! read more

Amazing! I cannot describe how happy it makes me to see a place like this pop up in downtown Turlock. Food and drink not only tasted good, but was presented in a super cute way. I came in for a sweet treat and was very please, i ordered the nutella crepe and a sugar crepe they both were delicious. The cashier recommended the breakfast bagel so i came back the following day and ordered it for breakfast hahaha. The staff is very kind and helpful i was impressed with the level of service they provided. Great local spot to add to the dt Turlock scene. read more

I go to school in town so this place will be a spot I will definitely hit up downtown Turlock next to the brewery. if you are in town check this place out for the ambiance and drinks. Love this place :) The girls were super helpful. I am a tea addict and had a whole bunch of questions. I was indecisive on what kind of drink I wanted. I ended up ordering a Persian tea (which was amazing w/ organic honey). They ended up surprising me with a sample of motca as well. This place is alright. They should consider serving with real plates and not paper. Also, I'm not sure how prices work. I ordered Turkish coffee for two and they serve it with the same amount of coffee for one but with an additional cup. So you're paying the additional five dollars for the cup and not an additional serving? The crepes are mediocre. Nothing special. read more

Came in this morning. Our caffe latte was warm and then it was served in a to go cup. Didn't even get asked if it was for here or for to go. Wanted it served in a cup with better presentation. Thoroughly impressed. The vibe here is wonderful. It is a perfect place to study, or to go catch up with friends. There are a couple games to play as well as a deck of cards. There is also a chalk board to draw on, a cute idea. The crepes are delicious and the teas are great as well. read more

Probably the best crepe I've ever had ! I kept it simple with a Nutella Crepe. Absolutely delicious. Service was great. Amaziiiiiing decorations and gives it a certain feel to the restaurant. Cool place to bring your friends and quote on quote, go for coffee. A little hint (get the Carmel Fetty, taste out of this world. Really satisfied my sweet craving. The coffee and the ambiance is great so I would like to give it a higher rating. However, every time I have gone the women employees just talk about their relationship issues out loud so everyone can hear. It is extremely unprofessional,immature, and annoying to hear their latest love life drama for an hour at a time. I'd recommend the owner show them how to act professional and that working at the cafe isn't high school gossip time. Won't be going back. read more

We had an accident with the baby and he knocked over the drink and water and they were kind enough to remake her the cocktail and the next time around it was the correct color and tasted better. The food menu also had unique items, I was intrigued to try a few things! We started with the ceviche, I really liked it! Typically I always go for chilaquiles so I was torn but I decided to be different and since it is a crepe place I went with the mushroom and bacon crepe. The sauce they use on the crepe is decently spicy, so if you're spice sensitive I recommend getting it on the side. My friend's daughter had the breakfast crepe and it also had the same sauce and she had to eat around it, but she trooped through! My girlfriend ordered the steak bowl and she enjoyed it, it came with a lot of steak!

It appears customer service has fallen to the wayside - I just called to try and place a togo order and was dismissed by the staff member on the other line and told to use the web app(through toast). However, the toast menu doesn't match the menu on table 26's own website. When I pointed this out to the staff member I was told that if I wanted one of those items I could come in and order it in person. I clarified that the person wouldn't accept call in orders and they told me they don't have the ability to do that(despite it saying on yelp that you can call to order). I'm not sure if the phone lines have been outsourced or something else, but any place that makes it this hard for me to be a customer has lost me as one. It's unfortunate as this used to be one of Turlock's gems for both food and service.

We started with the Argentine empanadas served with bone marrow and chimichurri--two good-sized empanadas for $24. Great flavor and a solid way to kick things off. For my entrée, I ordered the hanger steak cooked medium--it came out perfect. It was served with Roth Fries, which might honestly be the best garlic fries I've had in a long time. Fresh garlic, Parmesan, parsley... just done right. The steak was topped with chimichurri and came with two dipping sauces--everything worked. My wife ordered the Kung Pao Street Noodles with grilled prawns ($36), and she loved it. Overall, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a standout experience. I have been coming here for quite some time now, actually since they've opened. I've got to say it's very convenient and in the perfect spot in turlock. The minute you walk in its very comfortable and a vibe to where you can just kick back and relax. They have a spot to where you can sit and watch people walk by, or even do your homework there. The workers are all amazing, each and every one of them you can tell they know what they're doing when It comes to crepes and different drinks they have to offer. I always get a strawberry banana smoothie but once in a blue moon I'll get a Nutella crepe or even a salad. Long story short, this place is amazing! I love the vibe and everything that comes along with Café Rome! Anyone downtown Turlock definitely needs to stop there! read more

The young ladies that appeared to be working the counter were so busy eating food and conversing on their cell phones at the far end of the counter that they never noticed that i had entered the building. No friendly greeting never noticed me standing at the counter waiting to place my order. this was very unprofessional and I hope this type of customer service doesn't happen often.
