Given the price they charge (and the implicit assumption you are going to tip for a to go order-which I did) I would expect that when an order is placed (and paid for) before I leave the house that it is ready when I arrive over 30 minutes later. At that point I don't really want to wait in excess of 10 minutes while people who ordered as I walked in the door (again, a full 30 minutes after I ordered and paid for mine) receive their food and walk out the door. I am not sure if portion sizes have changed or ingredients have changed but... we ordered online from the website and picked up in store. My medium smokey yum was half full "maybe" or less in the medium container. It was not in a large container, it was the correct size container just not even half full. It was just rice, a spoon full of chili and 1 piece of avocado. No yumm sauce, no olives, no cheese... It was gone in about 5 bites. My daughter got a small original and again, the small little container was maybe half full. There was no yumm sauce, olives or cheese again on hers either. This is NOT how we ordered it. She ate her yumm bowl in about 4 bites and then needed another dinner because it was a laughable amount of food. My other kiddo got the teriyaki chicken bowl which had about twice the amount of food that our bowls had and she loved it. So at least one of us got an actual dinner. For $30 we won't be going back. I grew up in Eugene and having been eating cafe yumm since their original store opened. This is super disappointing, I wish we would have taken pictures but we were starving and in a hurry which is why we ordered take away in the first place. read more

Food was average but made me feel sick later on! I was on the way to the gym and didn't want to go on an empty stomach. Initially I came to grab a salad from the McDonald's nearby, but decided to come here instead when I saw it open. I came in rather late near closing time, so I was surprised to see a decent amount of people there. Staff was reasonably helpful with explaining the procedure/menu. I ordered the yumm bowl with half tempeh and chicken. For a fast food type of place, the bowl was extremely small for the price (~$11). Taste was subpar with the chicken tasting like microwavable chicken strips while the tempeh was pretty well grilled. The sauces were a bit too salty. The real problem was later on when I felt sick to the stomach due to the meal. Not sure if I had an intolerance to one of the ingredients or something wasn't fresh. Overall a weak experience, which somehow made me regret choosing it over the McDonald's! read more

I really enjoy the hot and jazzy bowls. I don't recommend the chicken skewers, they are like rubber. Not sure if it is a franchise deal or what but they love to post about integrity, honesty, hard work etc which is great but then they add Black Lives Matter as if it is a moral cornerstone. This is the closest location of Cafe Yumm! to me. I have ordered online numerous times for pick up and it has been a breeze for pick up. My order states that it'll be ready with 10 minutes and I give it a little more time before picking up and it's always ready when I get there. This is the worst bowl of Yum I've ever gotten and I've been going there for a long time. They offered to comp me a bowl but I can't come in because of Covid so I guess I'm out of luck. Heard about Cafe' Yumm! from friends so I stopped in. $7.95 for an original bowl with $1 for extra avocado which really confused me when I got home because all of the pictures show 3 thick slices of avocado on the bowls and I got 4 really thin slices... I wonder what would I actually receive if I didn't pay the extra $1 especially since across the street I picked up a ripe large avocado for $1.25 which doesn't bother me if I got at least 1/4 of if... sigh, 1/8 of it wasn't even what I got. Over half the bowl was an oily brown rice, on top was barely any black beans which is why I now get why the server asked if I wanted to add a protein to my bowl (wasn't the idea of the bowl a complete meal). On top of that was a thin layer of cheese, salsa, sour cream and cilantro with a brewers yeast sauce. The toppings are all beautifully placed and completely distract you from the fact that you just payed for the top of the bowl view not nutrient benefits of the contents as a meal. If this is a normal bowl I would direct you to The Whole Bowl or Prasad, they both offer complete meal bowls without having to add extra to make it so, the prices are less and completely local. This was absolutely my first experience and everyone has an off day so if you had a better experience and I should give them another shot, let me know. As is, I was so happy for the location and was hoping to make it a regular stop but this experience is telling me to grab a smoothie next door and pass this location up. read more

While I agree with many of the posts (very clean), it is worthwhile noting 1) the portions of food are small, 2) the food/chicken tasted very salty, and 3) when compared to the portions, the prices are high. Disappointed best sums up my feelings about Cafe Yum , especially this location . Not sure what they did with the kitchen staff or if the owners decided to cut corners on quality ingredients but the food has taken a nose dive . I am not being unfair with this judgement because I went back to Cafe Yumm two more times after being disappointed with the first bad set of meals I got. This is what was consistent : Tofu was over cooked , dry, tasteless, and old. They don't understand how to cook tofu anymore . You cannot overcook it or else it tastes and acts like cardboard . Come on don't you managers and or owners know what tofu tastes like when cooked right? It's like you don't care and that's a problem because a lot of vegans/vegetarians I know look for places that serve tofu as the main protein. The lettuces and any vegetables NEED To BE FRESH! I had to return an entire meal because the salad was wilted , the shredded bites of carrots and cabbage were stale and along with the dry awful tofu the whole meal was inedible. Sorry Cafe Yumm I went back two more times in two weeks for you all to get this right and even spoke to one of your managers about this poor quality problem but it didn't help. The Jazzy and the Hot'n Jazzy are insanely good and very simple. The Yumm sauce makes it great. It's essentially a burrito supreme in a bowl. And with the sauce it's super good. My husband and I came this evening for the first time. We both ordered the chicken bento bowl. The chicken was a pressed blob of flavorless meat with no texture. There wasn't nearly as much as in the photos, which was okay because it was unappetizing. The teriyaki sauce didn't taste like any I've ever had. It was bland and boring. Next time, we'll go somewhere that we know we'll like. Oh, almost forgot. One of the employees ran out to a car where a family was leaving with their carryout.
