Love this place! The staff is so friendly. Such a great place to get breakfast before going skiing!

The service is lovely, pleasant, and attentive! Positive note: outside is dog friendly. I had very fresh tasting grapefruit juice and what was the best Huevos Rancheros ever! The food was filling, but light, not that heavy feeling from too many fillers, but that nourished feeling from good, fresh food! I had mine with bacon inside the meal, but I hear the chorizo is a really good option as well. Glueten free single pancake was plentiful and light, syrup had just the right amount of sweetness and complimentary. Friendly conversation to be had outside and relaxing/sun-soaking ambiance. Only somewhat negative is that the side of avocado is kind of skimpy (but In all fairness also don't think they currently in season). Definitely worth a visit and several revisits! read more

Great food! Really enjoyed the omelet, my fiancé ordered the corned beef hash and said it was delicious. If we ever make it back to the area, we will definitely be coming back to Cafe 163. The place was packed, but service didn't suffer from having a full house. read more

I've eaten here a few times and always had a good experience and amazing food. On Wednesday 9/16 my parents and I went to breakfast there and I just wanted to give a shout out to the staff. The restaurant was really busy and the girl with brown hair who worked that morning absolutely killed it. Cafe 163 is one of our favorite all around restaurants in the valley for breakfast and lunch! Annie, the manager, is always so friendly and accommodating -as is the rest of the staff. Their Eggs Benedict are superb. The food is fresh and hot. We enjoy dining there 2-3 times a week!! read more

This is our family favorite breakfast spot and we enjoy it regularly. The food is very consistent and the potatoes are delicious. We are extremely grateful that they are taking Covid seriously and following all guidelines such as requiring masks to be seated in the restaurant. Since the restaurant is popular, we did have to wait a while last Sunday, so we asked a lovely waitress to bring us coffee outside. It turned waiting around into a nice time to chat sitting on the stone sipping our coffee. We were then able to enjoy breakfast at an outdoor table and all thoroughly enjoyed it. this is a nice spot to eat at , but customer service was very slowly. Waiter didn't do a good job when serving. She forgot our utensils and took a while to bring out our order. Almost 30 minute wait and their wasn't a lot of people due to covid. Over all not that great of an experience. read more

I ordered an ice coffee with my lunch. It was stale tasting , as if it the coffee had been sitting around all day.I sent it back. When I got my check there was a notation that said " ass hole ". They served me a shitting tasting ice coffee and then called me an ass hole. They lost me as customer and I hope everyone who reads this as well. read more

If you are looking for a good breakfast or lunch place, go to Avon bakery or Columbine bakery. You will find better prices for more food and better quality elsewhere. Cafe did have some good service the last time I was there, which was a couple of months ago. They also have a great location. But we do not just go to restaurants for location and service. Great attitude, made me smile and feel welcome, service was fast and attentive, my coffee was never empty, and food was delicious. The service here was so bad. They double charged me for my breakfast. When I called they told me that it was not their fault and I would have to call my credit card. Weeks later and they never reimbursed me. They didn't even offer a gift card and said there was no way to refund my money. If you do go, pay with cash. read more

We went to Cafe 163 for a Saturday morning brunch. We could tell that all the food was fresh made from scratch. We had the breakfast burrito with bacon, triple stack of pancakes, a spinach & swiss omelet, and corned beef hash with poached eggs. All three meals were excellent and the thin cut potatoes were some of the best breakfast potatoes I have had anywhere. The ambiance was equivalent to a big city brunch locale. However, the service and cost kept me from rating it 5 stars. I thought the breakfast burrito was the best thing we ate with a unique pork green chili that had various vegetables in it....normally something I would hesitate on, but somehow it worked. It seemed to us that the waitresses shared all tables, which made us feel that sometimes we were lost in the crowd. The prices were a bit high as our total was over $50 + tip for breakfast and that was with no extras except coffee....not terrible, but on the high side! read more

I was here for the first time a few days ago. I was pleased to see both a falafel wrap and a chicken curry sandwich on the menu. I ordered the falafel and it was good. The outdoor seating with parasol was very comfortable. Prices were reasonable as well. okay, okay, normally I would not leave such an awful review, but this place has some of the rudest wait staff I have ever encountered. This is not because of COVID, which is now becoming an easy way to excuse terrible service. There is actually way too many things that went wrong with the service to mention in one evening, but the most important is the way the the male waiter treated my wife. He brought out coffee (30 minutes after we sat down) and then asked if we wanted cream. We said no, but then my wife quickly changed her mind once she tasted the black tar of the gods and decided it needed cream. We waited for an opening and sent our cute little 10 yr old up to the counter because it would be another 20 min before the man came back by. He was obviously annoyed she asked for the cream and came out to deliver it to my wife and it was the most awkward and uncomfortable exchange. My wife tried to ask him a question and he just walked off. Terrible service! The food is good, but it's not worth the wait nor the staff. We didn't even want to leave a tip, but didn't stoop to that level and left one anyway. The other negative is the cost. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was pathetically small. I actually almost asked where the beef was, but then found it hiding under an egg....literally, all the meat fit under an egg. The hash isn't your typical hash either. Expect fried potatoes that is not hash. Go elsewhere, you will thank me! read more

Great food, not the kindest staff. I love coffee, and when I received by glass I was very excited. I took one sip and realized it was not blended. After blending it myself, I would give it a 6.5/10. Total unorganized with seating. No area to hang out while there is a wait other than on top of seated customers. Once we were seated, NO ONE acknowledged us. I'm pretty patient but this truly was rude and upsetting. We are locals and have eaten here before. The food is good, but even when you get your food you still have to wait to get anything else, like your check. We left after not being acknowledged by Anyone and went to Minturn's Turntable. We stumbled upon Cafe 163 while waiting for a brewery to open. It was a simple little cafe and appeared to be a local's favorite. I decided on something different. Homemade beef chili and spaghetti. Sounded strange but good at the same time. It turned out to be pretty tasty and had a hearty goodness to it. The chili was beefy and rich and the spaghetti cooked al dente. They also have a good selection of local teas so I gave the Jasmine tea a try. It came in a homemade tea bag and had a wonderful fragrance and was deliciously hot and soothing. Next time I pass through I'll have to try one of the breakfast dishes. read more

While staying at Beaver Creek Westin, I ate there twice with my sons for breakfast and totally enjoyed the burrito, french toast and other breakfast items. No atmosphere to speak of so stay outside for al fresco breakfast. Personally I would only go there in warm weather to dine outside; interior is too busy and crammed. Outside air in Edwards Colorado, with a killer breakfast burrito= winner in good weather. Spotty. Excellent potatoes and omelette. Fresh fruit, while ambitious, had a strange odor to it. My guess: slight mildew from being stored some time in plastic. Don't know. Water had soapy taste. This place was not very good. My husband's corned beef hash was very dry. He asked for a side of hollandaise when we ordered, he had to ask for it again when the meal came. When it did finally make it to the table it tasted really bad, he didn't even eat it. I can't even remember what I had because it was so unmemorable. I think this place is going out of business soon. The positive aspect of my review is based on the food. Different daily specials promise you won't get bored by their homemade classic diner style food. Breakfast is served until 3PM (although I was told it is served all day). There were only two other tables occupied while I was there, but it took well over half an hour to get my order of French toast. Thankfully, we had ordered quiche to be brought out to us first. Unfortunately, that too took 25 minutes to receive, even though the vegetable quiche was right in the display case and therefore only had to be warmed up. In all fairness, we should have taken it as a sign that it took around 15 minutes or more to get our coffee and we had to ask our waitress more than twice for some water. I am not sure if she was new and perhaps not used to having a system down path. The strange part was that the only other waitress there was also working the register and when she was not tending to the one table she was assigned to, she was sitting at the table closest to the kitchen, eating. That was where/how I first saw her, so I thought she was on her lunch break. She kept returning to the same table to continue eating though. The prices were reasonable, unless you want avocado on anything, which is an extra $2. We ordered a chai latte and a chamomile peppermint tea to go, as well as a surprisingly small and thin slice of homemade banana bread. They were all delicious and just by the color of the banana bread, you could tell it was the real thing. Unlike the yellow dyed banana bread baked goods from supermarkets. I am not a huge fan of chocolate, so I did not miss out on the fact that the waitress running the register (as well as the place card in the display case) had mentioned the banana bread had chocolate chips. read more

The people who work there were very nice. As for the food. Not good. Three people ordered the breakfast sandwich. There was one over fried egg with barely any meat on an overly buttered piece of bread. $8 for this. One person had it with a sausage. The sausage was so small. Just slightly bigger than a quarter. I normally don't leave bad reviews especially when I didn't even get a chance to eat. I have eaten at Cafe 163 many times when I lived here and the food is delicious and service very good. Today, we received a less than desirable greeting by Gabby while she was unlocking the tables outside. Kate was behind the bar setting up, greeted us warmly and told us to sit anywhere we like. We found a table by the window, waited a few minutes for Gabby to finish what she was doing outside to come greet us. No "hello" just, "what do you want to drink?". I said "how are you today?", she answered "fine" in a curt voice. We left because we had the same curt tone upon entering. Being in customer service ourselves, we both feel it is essential for warm greetings. I called to get the names of the 2 there. Kate was very apologetic but I still find it very wrong. read more

My wife and I today decided on a Valentines Breakfast together prior to work. We had heard about cafe 163 from a few friends. I decided to try something new and ordered the French Toast encrusted with corn flakes. The cost was $9 and to add blueberries or other items was an additional $2 or so. True to form, when my plate was brought out to me, I had a big plate with 2 pieces of medium sized french toast and that's pretty much it, if you don't count the little tub of butter. My wife even noticed and said "that's it?" I was done in 5 minutes and after giving my wife my very best sad eyes she surrendered a bit of her breakfast for me. With 2 exceedingly basic and a little skimpy breakfasts we walked out with a $25 bill. This place may be cozy and all, but if you come to eat a hearty and tasty breakfast, you may want to do a bit more research. I will give them 2 stars since the service was good and coffee was strong. If we go again, we'll buy a cinnamon roll and coffee and save ourselves about $20. read more

simply put the best breakfast burrito we have ever had....whether you chose bacon or chorizo it is incredible. a base layer of crunchy potatoes followed by eggs, meat, cheese and beans. it is topped with even more cheese a plenty and delicious green chile. honestly each bite was a perfect mix of each ingredient. living in philadelphia- a city that prides itself on brunch- we can't imagine a single b.fast burrito in the city even coming close to cafe 163's. a must have. a must go. try it and try it often. read more
