Tuscan Fries 5/5 Pork Tenderloin Katsu Sandwich 4/5 Avocado Toast with Roasted Beets 4.5/5 Green Mandarin Sour 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Overall 5/5 We came for lunch on a sunny Tuesday afternoon and it was beautiful inside Cafe 2001. The high ceilings with the sun shining through was the perfect atmosphere to catch up with my bestie. We ordered some shochu cocktails - the Green Mandarin Sours. Cafe 2001 is an excellent spot for sipping, eating, and yapping. The staff was friendly and answered my many questions. Service was excellent! My favorite dish was the Tuscan Fries - they were very garlicky and flavorful. There was some rosemary in there too which brightened up the dish! The Avocado Toast with the Roasted Beets was recommended by the staff. The beets were fantastic on the thick, fluffy toast which was smothered in smooth avocado. We ate so many fries and finished the toast that we barely could eat the Pork Katsu sandwich! I can't wait to come back and try more beverages and more of the food items at Cafe 2001.

Cafe 2001.. This cafe is easy to miss but 2001 is the address of the building along 7th Street, however, the entry is at the parking lot entry along Mateo St. This cafe has a really cool layout. Exposed brick building, high ceilings with a 2nd floor perimeter mezzanine with seating and a skylight overhead. Makes for a nice cafe date place. We came here for drinks not too long ago. Cold brew and a matcha coconut latte. The drinks were above average. We didn't have brunch here but the menu did look pretty good along with some of their pastries and cakes. Service here was on par as they bring your drinks and food to your table.

This place has really good food and drinks :) albeit a bit pricey for me who suffers from being stingy (a la Scrooge the duck) but that is the experience of living at the moment I guess. the service was also very nice shoutout to all the employees who happen to have incredible style??? Did the interview involve having to be fashionable? I would not pass. The ambiance is also great there's nice seating, my sibling and I went to go for lunch and study. Parking is free if you can hack it with street parking in arts district (shoutout random street we parked on) also shout out to the server who noticed me and my sibling trying to pour our drink into a to go cup and instead just poured it for us. Very nice. We did indeed look like bumbling fools but alas tis the jester's life.

Cafe on 21 is one of those rare places that never gets boring! The food is truly unique. Every week there's a new item added to the menu, and it's always a surprise in the best way. I've never been disappointed. The flavor pairings are so creative and always perfectly balanced. This is my favorite place to start my morning something new to try each time. The vibe makes it even better, classic music, calm energy, and customer service that's 10/10. It's welcoming, relaxed, and effortlessly stylish.

My friend and I's katsu sandwich was bloody and undercooked. When we nicely brought it to a worker's attention and asked if they could cook it a bit longer, they just said "it usually looks like that" and started laughing to the other worker in the back. For how popular this place is becoming, Cafe 2001 needs to get better workers with decent customer service and human decency. The next step would be to teach them how to cook pork properly and thoroughly. Absolutely ridiculous and DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE Regardless of how you like your poultry cooked, if it's a personal preference to have it more well done, there is no excuse for attitude and snickering towards your paying customers. They've also "ran out of espresso" on several occasions... go elsewhere for coffee. The furniture inside is very run down and gives trashy vibes.

Not going to gate keep but I love this place! They have both food and drinks on the menu. It's situated at the back of Yess restaurant and beautifully renovated and decorated. Both the matcha latte and the hojicha latte are so yummy, beautifully foamed. I split the egg sandwich and the katsu sandwich with my girlfriend and they were both so delicious. The relish paired so well with the egg sandwich. We loved the katsu sauce that has a hint of wasabi. I'm not going to gatekeep but I'm obsessed with the matcha canale!

The name 2001 had nothing to do with year 2001. It's actually the number of the address lol, but I found the name catchy. The venue somehow gave me that retro warehouse vibe. It's super aesthetic with rays of natural light. The menu somehow felt like featuring Japanese theme with obviously various coffee and tea based drinks. They did serve some brunch menu and several pastries including tarts. Having the matcha canele displayed next to the checkout made me unable to skip it. Other than prolly too much matcha powder on top of it making it kinda powdery, this petite pastry was little pleasure! Crunchy coating, gooey and chewy center, with great balance of sweetness and slight matcha bitterness. I got their iced Hojicha Latte, which got me pleased. The only downsides were it's tad grainy, besides I wish they had either almond or soy milk beyond just whole and oat milk. Beyond those two, it was impressive with solid roasted tea flavor.

Perfect cafe to come work in! I got an iced americano and a strawberry tart. The guy who helped me was very friendly, and suggested that the hojicha would go well with my tart but I decided I was feeling more like coffee haha. The upstairs area is perfect to work in, I saw a bunch of people on their laptops (I came on a Sunday morning). They also have a small patio, which is where I decided to sit to enjoy the weather. The tart was good but I wish the strawberries were sweeter. But I will definitely be back to try more food! I heard someone say they had the best avocado toast ever, and the table next to me got a katsu sandwich which looked great too. Ps. Theres only street parking, which was easy to find for me

cafe 2001: located in the arts district, a relatively new cafe that opened in dec 2024. the interior is v pretty, gives european vibes. the drinks and dessert were perfect, not v sweet at all!! we went to get some work done but the wifi is p slow, and only street parking. staff were v nice. if they had better wifi than this would be the perf study cafe. - japanese chicken karage -horjicha - matcha latte - blood orange almond pudding

This cafe recently opened in December of 2024. It is attached to yess restaurant. Parking is only street parking or paid lot. One of the best cafes in la by far. They have a thoughtfully curated menu with items that you can tell were made by a chef. They have various food and dessert options as well as a happy hour. Workers here are amazing. The man at the register with the curly hair was so nice and a great person to have at front of house. I came for a latte which they don't have past 4pm so I got the hojicha cold brew instead and made it into a latte. I also got their cherry tart. So insanely good

The location of this coffee shop is very intriguing. The exposed brick and the skylight gives this place a unique ambiance. They have a various drink options and pastries. The matcha latte with jelly was very good. The jelly was a bit dense which was hard to mix. I would opt out of getting the jelly again. This place gets busy later in the day so get here early if you want to secure a seat.

I highly highly recommend this cafe for its people and vibes. The underground party they threw last night was insane. Looking forward to more events like this here.

Upon entering the place is clean, sleek, and modern. We were greeted right away. I already knew I was leaving with 2 drinks for the drive back home. I ordered: 1. Cold brew vanilla: Delicious, I love that tou can see the vanilla cream on top. This was definitely what I needed to wake me up. 2. Matcha einspener: I tasted this and immediately loved it when leaving the store. I saved it for last. It was so light and refreshing. I could easily drink it all day if they had a bigger size lol. I was hoping to try the seasonal mango cream matcha, but sadly it was gone. 3. Pastries: I wanted to try the sampler but I don't thinking they had it yet. I tried one of the cinnamon pastries. It was soft and very cinnamony. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll be back soon.

4.5 Yelp Stars *** Stopped by here to pick up coffee before…read morethe long roadtrip home to the Bay Area! This was one of the closer coffee spot with good reviews that I found near the kbbq place (Seogwan by Yellow Cow Kbbq) my family and I ate at for lunch. It was about 0.5miles (3 mins drive). The coffee shop is super large, bright, and has nice background music. There are plenty of seats for people to hang out or study. There are also street parking but can be difficult to cross the street due to cars driving by so quickly without a pedestrian crosswalk on one side. I ordered their signature drink which was the orange espresso tonic with one extra shot for my husband, and the double mango matcha for myself. Both of us really enjoyed the drinks, especially the orange espresso tonic. It was refreshing, clean, and easy to drink. Normally, they include double shots of espresso, which may have tasted stronger for me since my husband wanted three shots, and I usually stick with two shots. The double mango matcha uses fresh fruit syrup so the mango flavor was not too strong and my drink was very creamy due to the signature mango cream on top. Usually, I would enjoy a creamy matcha but it made me more thirsty on a hot day. The service took a bit of time since they had to mix my matcha the legit way with the bamboo whisk. The matcha tasted like premium, ceremonial matcha since it was stronger and authentic in taste. Overall, both drinks were enjoyable but if I had to choose one, I would go with the orange espresso tonic even though I love mango matcha!

If you plan to sit here, there's a one-drink-per-person minimum. The café itself is aesthetic and filled with natural light.
