It comes with pastrami, tomato paste, hash brown, and a sunny side up egg. I got their shortie size but it was still HUGE! Came during the lunch rush on a Tuesday and man, GCM was packed! I opted for this store since the line was moving pretty fast in comparison, and sandwiches do not take long to make vs other places. Took about 10 minutes from the time of ordering to get my sandwich. I ordered the Melrose in a medium. I like how they give you a lot of meat, and how the sauces and seasonings don't feel overpowering. A medium is perfect for someone on their lunch, but might be a little big if you have even a slightly smaller appetite. The bacon could've been more crispy, but overall the sandwich lived up to the expectations. The bread was a little flat and not as crunchy/flavorful as I would've liked. I also wished they had more bread options other than dutch crunch, but maybe that's a possibility in the future. My partner suggested Ghost Sando since he's been there plenty of times before, and I'm so glad we switched it up because it was my first time trying it. As an avid sandwich lover and someone who spends way to much time at the Grand Central Market, it was finally time to have my first sandwich from Ghost Sando Shop. This shop is located right in the first aisle and thanks to it's bright paint job and cool aesthetic, this place is pretty hard to miss. The menu here has consists of both breakfast and lunch, offering three sandwich sizes, as well as a pretty solid selection for both meal times. Even though it was hard to decide, I finally pulled the trigger on the "Kickin' Chicken" and a pineapple passionfruit drink to help wash it down. There were four of us and the food didn't take too long to come out, but thanks to this place being packed it can be pretty difficult to find a place to sit down sometimes. The pineapple passionfruit drink was absolutely delicious! It was super fruity, cold, and as refreshing as a drink could be. The Kickin' Chicken sandwich was a pretty decent size considering I ordered the smallest one, but packed some dang good flavour for the chicken which also had whatever the blast spread is, chipotle adobo spread, melted mozzarella, cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickled jalapeno, toato, white onion, and some of the best bread I've had with a sandwich in a long time. IT WAS SO GOOD! Overall, Ghost Sando Shop is the premier sandwich place in Los Angeles and I totally get why now. So I said today is the day I'm gonna call-in this mofo in and pick up on opening, when only half of the Grand Central Market is full (Its the 11am brunch crowd in full effect to avoid paying for 2 meals you can't hide from me fools.) Few pros and cons about the "Pastrami Mami" Pros: Ordered "Large" and its packed with meat and everything else. Lots of toppings. The pastrami is nice and thin, easy to chew, and not like some places that serve leather saddle-like thickness. Dutch Crunch bread always a fave. Cons: Although packed good, there's not much to make it a signature sandwich IMO. Which leads to my next con: Price: Paid almost 20 bucks for a sandwich I can get a comparable portion, filling, and taste for around 5 bucks less at Ike's. Pre-packaged bread...I know said love the Dutch crunch, but it makes such a HUGE difference to have freshly baked bread on site. I don't like seeing rolls wrapped in plastic, but that's just me. (I know unrealistic for each place to have freshly made bread, but after trying Bread Head in Manhattan Beach, think I'm spoiled for life.) 3.5 stars rounding up to 4 for something I prob wont be back for just for the sake of convenience and similarity to Ike's which is a lot closer, and is always ready when ordered on app, plus a 5 spot cheaper, by no means bad. Every single one of their subs sounded phenomenal but I'm a sucker for an Italian sub, so I ordered a large Uncle Nikki: Dutch Crunch sub roll, mayo, genoa salami, pepperoni, capicola and provolone, topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pepperoncini, drizzled with house made Italian dressing and Italian herbs. In terms of an Italian sandwich, does it have the most impressive array of meats? No, just salami, pepperoni, and capicola. I liked the shredded lettuce because it held the homemade Italian dressing very well. Normally I wouldn't think of putting mayo on an Italian sandwich but this actually gave it a very creamy texture and complimented the meats. The sub roll was one of the best features: a crunchy outer shell with a warm fluffy inside. At $16 for a large, the price wasn't terrible and it was enough to fill me up for lunch. I went here around noon on a Sunday. I ended up eating here because the lines at a lot of the other food places were too long, and the descriptions on the sandwiches were appealing. The service here was friendly and quick, no complaints there. I ordered their Ruben's Cousin sandwich, and found it to be a remarkably poor quality spin on the Reuben. I wish I could just say it was a recipe or flavor I didn't like, but it was really the quality of the pastrami itself that dragged down the whole show. The pastrami was extremely dry and flavorless, which was a significant problem considering a full third of the sandwich was just pastrami. I've had better pastrami from grocery store generics. The bread itself was pretty uninteresting, and I'm not sure why so many other folks on here rave about it with the nearly identical "crunchy outside, soft inside" marketing phrase. It felt very gimmicky to me: the crunchy bits outside didn't really outstrip the lack of flavor or texture inside. The toppings were like 70% pickle, and the pickles were pretty unremarkable. If there was supposed to be cheese on my sandwich, my taste buds could not detect it. All in all, I came here to report that this sandwich was pretty bad for a $16 sandwich. Given the low ingredient quality I saw, I am not inclined to give this place another try. Also, having seen the near-identical phrasing on a lot of the other reviews, I'd also like to suggest the possibility that this place might be astroturfing a lot of their social media review scores, including their Yelp review scores. read more

The only thing keeping this from an elusive fifth star was that the meat was a bit cold in the middle. Cold sandwich, I get it.
