We stopped by Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles. This place is very busy. I suggest parking in the garage next door although it can get full on high volume times like lunch hour and weekends. We walked the entire market and decided on getting sandwiches at Ghost Sando Shop. I ordered the Reuben's Cousin and my daughters ordered the Veg Out. Both were very tasty and flavorful. The staff is friendly and got our orders to us in a timely manner. The market place is fully packed and finding tables to sit can be challenging. Luckily we went to the downstairs area and made friends with one of the vendors. She offered us a long table on the side of the wall for us to eat our lunch. Worked out because it was also air conditioned down there. We enjoyed out sandwiches there.

tl;dr the Dutch crunch rolls highlight an otherwise standard lineup of hearty deli sandwiches The Los Angeles sandwich scene ranges from terrific tortas to farmer's market-on-a-bun, but few spots have embraced the Bay Area's beloved Dutch crunch roll. These slightly sweet hoagie rolls are coated with rice flour, creating an addictively crunchy, tortoise-shell top. While hard to find, Dutch crunch rolls are the specialty at Ghost Sando Shop. This small sandwich chain (from the mind of NorCal native and former Chipotle exec Benjamin Sales) debuted in the Fairfax District, and it has expanded to Orange County and the Valley. Every sandwich at Ghost Sando sports a Dutch crunch roll, and the lineup has achieved TikTok fame. Briefly, Grand Central Market is a semi-outdoor industrial market turned upscale food court. The sky-high walls are painted white, and the concrete floors are slickly polished. Even during the day, only a few rays of sunshine enter through the skylight roof, leaving each vendor's neon sign to pop. During busy hours, expect foot traffic shoulder-to-shoulder through the narrow aisleways. Here, Ghost Sando has a central stall near the wide stairwell. You can't miss the bright teal paint or custom green neon sign. The walls are tastefully decked with hexagon tile and wooden slats. The sandwich production line is front and center, and staff members buzz around even well after the weekday lunch rush. Stools are pressed up against the long stainless steel bar counter, guaranteeing a seat for customers. My partner and I visited Ghost Sando for a weekday lunch, but our food was prepared relatively quickly. Immediately, I was shocked by the sheer density of the sandwiches. Rolled into compact cylinders, the weight could have fooled me into thinking they were bricks. The "Large" size was plenty for even a hefty appetite, but I can't imagine how anyone could tackle the double-topping "XX Large" portions. I also enjoyed the unique Dutch crunch loaf -- consider holding your sandwich upside-down to fully appreciate the crispy shell. Otherwise, the sandwiches were more standard than spectacular. The cold cuts are more like grocery store variety than premium deli, and the veggies are only a step above Subway. I preferred the mildly spicy Firebird to the warm-ish Pastrami Mami, but neither blew my socks off. The service is mostly disengaged, and the sandwiches run from $15 each. Reasonably, a sandwich can be extended across 2 meals. The sandos are mostly standard, but the Dutch crunch rolls are mildly addictive. While Ghost Sando is not a reason alone to pay GCM a visit, it is a filling and reliable bet for routine DTLA lunch.

I ordered the pastrami mami. I waited a few min to order since they seem busy. Ingredients were placed on the shelves. Chairs are placed parallel to the stainless steel countertop. Mexican music plays from the speaker. It costs $14 for shortie size sandwich which is 6 inches if I had to guess. The logo of the sandwich shop is near the top of the restaurant. Order will take 10 or so minutes. It took 8 minutes which was fast. I think online orders took place in the time I waited and 2 groups ordered sandwiches ahead of me. I asked the cashier for my receipt since I wasn't sure if I could get it even though it faced me. Tons of customers didn't get their receipts either. I love how the bread was toasty. Lots of lettuce and pepperoncini which made it crunchy. Hardly tasted the bacon but I didn't mind. I loved that pastrami was at the forefront.

Welcome to GHOST sando shop. #gcm

Ghost Sando Shop is a delectable sandwich shop in Grand Centra Market, DTLA. They have a plethora of food items on their menu. I had a regular Tornado sandwich which is composed of crispy bbq chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and special sauce. I requested to exclude bacon. The sandwich was surprisingly tasty and flavorful. I rarely eat sandwich as my lunch but I want to be adventurous today. Staff were competent and professional. Price was surprisingly modest. Seats are available. Overall, I had a good sandwich. I'd recommend you visit.

A sandwich shop located in the grand central market. They seemed to have a lot of variety of sandwiches. I got a breakfast one called the wrong side of the bed. It comes with pastrami, tomato paste, hash brown, and a sunny side up egg. I got their shortie size but it was still HUGE! I fear what their other sizes will be lol I also got their strawberry juice it was pretty yummy. They offer refills as well. The guy at the counter was super nice and offered to cut my sammy when he saw my eyes widen to see how big it was. It really helped me eat clean! Wish them the best!

Inside of GCM, the bread here is absolutely incredible, there really isn't a sandwich I've had that hasn't been good, and I'm not sure if it's the bread that makes it or what but definitely try this spot.

    The Melrose

Came during the lunch rush on a Tuesday and man, GCM was packed! I opted for this store since the line was moving pretty fast in comparison, and sandwiches do not take long to make vs other places. Took about 10 minutes from the time of ordering to get my sandwich. I ordered the Melrose in a medium. I like how they give you a lot of meat, and how the sauces and seasonings don't feel overpowering. A medium is perfect for someone on their lunch, but might be a little big if you have even a slightly smaller appetite. The bacon could've been more crispy, but overall the sandwich lived up to the expectations. The bread was a little flat and not as crunchy/flavorful as I would've liked. I also wished they had more bread options other than dutch crunch, but maybe that's a possibility in the future. Although the shop's lines and employees may seem busy, they pump out food quickly at an affordable price that's guaranteed to fill you up. Definitely recommend for any tourist/local!

Okay okay okay Clear the room The service was awesome.they were kind and made awesome food The vibe is there because it's in the central market and they serve beer The food was 100/10 We did a club and a pastrami turkey Both AMAZING WOULD DEFINITELY RECCOMEND

Been meaning to try ghost sando for awhile and finally got to check it off my list. We ordered the Melrose, which comes stacked with ham, turkey, and bacon, and it's such filling sandwich. We also tried the firebird, which comes with pastrami turkey, chipotle mayo and all the fixings. This one was my favorite. The meat ratio is great here. They're known for their Dutch crunch bread, which tastes amazing. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and it holds everything together perfectly. Service was quick and efficient, especially considering how busy GCM gets. I can definitely see why people call this one of the best sandwich spots in LA. Left very full and already mentally bookmarking it for my next sandwich craving.

I ordered the club, regular size. The service was quick, which I appreciated. The sandwich was the perfect size and filling. The sandwich was good, but I wasn't blown away. I'd be interested in trying some of their other options.

We've been to the Burbank location and loved it. So I was very pleased to discover that ghost sando shop is in the Grand Central market. Through sandwiches are very good. Very beefy and definitely shareable.

I got the alarm clock.. can't wait.. first time trying their sandwichess
    melissa r.

The price point is ok for inflation & all & they take cash, with that being said.... It's not super filling ... No flavor except for the jalapenos... Everything tastes white.. bland .. I really wanted to like it but am hungover and after eating that sandwich I am thinking maybe I should e gotten one instead at Jose chiquito...

    Kickin chicken
    Mike Y.

I recently tried the spicy chicken sandwich at Ghost sando and it was a decent experience overall. The sandwich itself was fine - nicely crispy on chicken with Dutch crunch bread on the outside, which I appreciated. Interestingly, they also included ham on the other side of the sandwich. Less chicken though The regular size wasn't quite enough to satisfy a full craving - it felt more like a good snack-sized bite rather than a complete meal. If you're looking for something substantial, you might want to consider ordering additional items or getting the 2 larger sizes. The service was efficient, with quick ordering at the counter. The staff seemed to keep things moving smoothly. Would I go back? Yes, I'd be interested in trying different items on their menu to get a better sense of what they offer. While the spicy chicken sandwich didn't completely blow me away, it was solid enough to warrant another visit to explore their other options. Price $12 for regular size.

We had a nice server, Daniel, who was very attentive and helpful. My sister ordered cheese blintzes and they were served cold in the middle. Daniel took them back and when they reappeared at the table they were hot enough but not piping hot. Sister said they were very good. But two not very large blintzes for about $16, is kind of high. Friend had a Rueben which she said was delish. She also ordered a container of matzah ball soup and the matzoh ball was huge! I ordered a hot corned beef on rye and it was indeed very good. Large enough that half was enough for dinner and the other half was another meal on the next day. I also ordered onion rings. Very good! My dining companions enjoyed some of them too and there were still a few left to take home with my sandwich! I had a few of my friend's steak fries, they were good also. The prices are high here. Guess you have to go with the flow in a world-famous place! There is a small bakery counter near the front door. We bought two danishes to take home. Order online and have some jump out of the car to pick up your order. There is no seating inside but maybe a chair or two outside. The neighborhood is a little rough around the edges so you may want to get that food to go. We tried three sandwiches and they were all huge. The crispy chicken caesar wrap is phenomenal and I am not one who usually orders this particular sandwich anywhere. It comes with a creamy sauce that I might have drank directly from the little cup. The wrap is packed full of chicken and it is refreshing and excellent. It doesn't look huge but trust me, the wrap is packed full and you will be plenty satisfied. The Antonia sandwich comes with turkey, cheese, avocado, tomato, and garlic aioli. It isn't all that unique a creation but for what it is, it is very fresh and very good. It came loaded with delicious turkey. The Martha sandwich (chicken salad, apples, fennel, argula, herbs, etc.) is on special right now. Personally, I am not a big chicken salad guy but you get a lot of it and the person in our party who ordered it liked it a lot. We also tried the arancini and they were excellent.
