Sandwiches here are not as good as the ones in Italy, but pretty great for what I'd expect here. Got the l'italiana and the la schiacciata del boss. Both were good in their own way but I'd say the truffle cream in the del boss sandwich is an excellent umami boost. Good sandwich, but nowhere near the mythology. The ingredients taste good and the staff were friendly, so this isn't a bad place by any stretch. But the whole thing is more hype than revelation. I've been meaning to try this spot for a while now and was excited to finally make it out to one of the locations. It's nice they have a lot of locations but keep in mind they all have different closing times. This location is pretty small and cozy but they have a split of both indoor counter seating and outdoor table seating. Parking is all street parking. Service here is very friendly! For the food, I ended up ordering the L'italiano since I was intrigued by the pistacho cream and it did not disappoint. The prosciutto was also good quality and wasn't super stringy. I like many others first saw this sandwich shop on Instagram. I was so excited when they opened in the US. I knew it would be one of my stops if I went to Vegas. Well, I went to Vegas and fell in love. I went to LA a few weeks later and you better believe I stopped by this location to get my fix again. I ordered the Paradiso, I am a huge mortadella fan, and pistachio and I'm in heaven. My sandwich was done is about a minute and I was on my way to pay and out the door. It was very easy and fairly quick. The bread was soft and warm, the mortadella was perfect and the pistachio cream was something completely unexpected. To say it was pistachio cream made me think of a white cream sauce with pistachio, NO, this was more a pistachio butter and then more pistachios layered on top of it. The cheese that is added is also a perfect compliment. I don't even have words to describe how unbelievably good this sandwich is. All employees were fantastic. They are very welcoming and are happy to answer any questions. It's in a very congested area, pretty much street parking, but I was able to find parking a few blocks away. read more

I have been wanting to grab a sandwich from here for a while and finally tried it out the other week. I ordered La Paradiso because it's such a hot commodity, and it didn't disappoint!! The sandwich is very large and the flavor is delicious. It's pretty expensive IMO, but so yummy. The people working there were also so friendly. I could only eat half and put the remaining half in the fridge for later, but also never felt super compelled to pick up the other half again because, while very mild in flavor overall, the taste was pretty distinct and I just didn't find myself craving it again after my first half. Now that it's been a couple weeks I would totally get the sandwich again, but I think I'd want to split it with someone. I think it might be the kind of meal that you really enjoy while you're having it, but you don't really want for leftovers. Does that even make sense? LOL Anyway, the sandwich was delicious. I was really excited to try All' Antico Vinaio as I'd heard about it from a friend. We stopped in today for lunch and while it was good, I wasn't that impressed. I did love the bread and the Italian potato chips but the sandwich itself was not good, not bad. I had the New Yorker-Roast Beef, porcini cream, tomato and arugula. I substituted the gorgonzola cream for the porcini cream and it was a bit overpowering (and I love gorgonzola!) The sandwich was huge and I couldn't even finish half. My friend took me here as I've been staying out in the westside and said this is a must try. I completely agree, must-try mind blowingly good sandwiches! Tried the La Favosa and it was amazingly good! The menu is a little too Italian as I honestly did not understand what I was trying to order. The combination of prosciutto and and pecorino start to feel a little too salty and overwhelming and the truffle cream is really good but also a strong flavor. I feel like sharing two sandwiches between two people is the way to go because although the flavors are amazing, they also start feeling too much. The portions are also big enough. Perhaps you'll still be hungry if you share a whole sandwich between two people but eating one whole sandwich will leave you full and satisfied and you can just go walk it off afterwards. The service was good. The line was not that big but it goes really fast. They have a smooth process and make it right in front for you. The workers are not the friendliest though, they even seem a bit intimidating. They will answer your questions but they won't interact or engage. Strictly business. That being said, the staff seems pretty efficient and gets things moving quickly. Whether you want to get a sandwich with crushed pistachio cream or truffle honey, they have something for everyone! Their Italian cold cuts in each one are delicious. The sandwiches are amazing and the bread is nice and flaky but a few things are just not the same. First, the bread just doesn't seem to have the same consistency and freshness as Florence. Second, they aren't nearly as generous with the amount of meat and ingredients you get inside. Third, and related to the first two, is that despite getting a lesser experience you are paying a premium price! The combination of these, coupled with the fact of how good the original is, means I can't really give them more than 4 stars. It is expensive - I think a combo is like $30 but you can split a sandwich 2 ways and that makes it a no brainer. Why 4 stars then? Well, this place gets BUSY, so I try and order take out but I've had times where I've waited longer for take out then if I stood in their mile long line and ordered. The last time I was there I showed up 10 minutes after my pickup time and then waited 20 minutes before I asked about it. During that time nobody acknowledged my existence. When I asked want employee nearby they told me they'd check on it and immediately start chatting with each other. I'm 100% confident they didn't follow through. After 30 minutes I told myself I'll stand in the line and if I get to the front I'm asking for my money back. So I did exactly that and I got to the front! At this point I'm an hour past my pickup time and asked for my money back. They told me it'll be ready in 5, so I was like fine. I'm hungry and my sandwich has 3 ingredients... It ended up taking an additional 10 but they gave me a free sprite which was cool I guess, but I ended up losing an hour out of my day waiting for an order that should have been ready when I got there. And to make things worse I've had this experience twice. To sum it all up, great sandwiches but strong there's a good chance it will be an effort to actually eat it. read more

Good experience here. I always wanted to try this place and finally got the chance. I ended up getting two sandwiches to go which was the la dante with Capocollo, Stracchino, Truffle Cream, Arugula and new yorker with roast beef, onion porcini cream, tomato, arugula. They are soo huge you can easily split them or order a couple and swap half of sandwich with a friend to share. They have parking but who wants to pay $13 dollars to park? Try finding parking on the streets. I came on a tuesday so it was some spaces available but i can see on the weekends being absolutely insane to park anywhere close by. They have many cool shops/eateries in the area to walk around and check out also.
