TLDR; Good coffee, horrible parking, long wait. Blackberry fermented coffee with blueberry and honey was good. I liked the tangy, tartness. They didn't have the tonic on the menu so I got the matcha with lavender cream top, which was good. No parking. Street parking was all taken so hubby had to wait in the car outside. He had to wait awhile cause the coffee took a long time to come out. No one was really inside but each drink took time to come out. Prob won't be able to make it back, esp due difficulty parking and time it takes but maybe if they door dash! read more

Visited this place last Saturday with my family, and it instantly stood out. The café sits in a part of Downtown L.A. that feels like old warehouses and quiet streets, but inside--it's an oasis. Bright, clean, and beautifully designed. Etiquette Coffee connects directly to a vintage clothing shop and a salon. It's a cool concept, full of style and energy. The baristas were welcoming and clearly take pride in what they do. This is where you go for crafted coffee--real attention to flavor and detail. Forget Starbucks or Blue Bottle if you're in DTLA. What a super cute cafe in DTLA. It's not in a fashionable area or district (like Little Tokyo or Arts District), but is safe enough. I came with two girls. The coffee shop appear to be the front/first unit of a multiple unit condo going towards the back (if you consider the listed address as the front). Plenty of street parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great space to hang out or chat with friends. Barber shop and retail shop in the back. CORTADO is creamy and strong. Not watered/milked down. Which means... the LATTE tastes great. The CHERRY BLOSSOM TONIC is a matcha with sparking water. It was good but the daughter said she won't give up her favorite strawberry matcha drink for it. This coffee shop's got the vibes. The outdoor seating area is really nice. It's actually covered in shade from the neighbor building in the morning. In the afternoon when the sun moves, it gets hot. The wifi doesn't work out here unfortunately. I was here early so I scored a free parking spot close by. The whole street has free parking; the issue is they get taken up. The barista was very nice. He offered to make my latte in a nice ceramic mug with no handles. I thought I saw food from Google reviews but only saw pastries. The coffee was good enough. I've been trying to come here for quite a while, but parking has always been an issue. I've drive by on the weekdays because it's near my work. But, I went today on a Saturday, at around 1pm because I was just in the area and saw a spot! Sorry I took a star off for the inconvenience of the parking, but... I got in there and it was a nice atmosphere and comfortable. I got greeted by my barista and ordered a Lavender Latte with oat milk. As I waited for it to be made, I walked to find the bathroom and saw that this place had a lot more to offer than just coffee. It had a barber shop and it looked like a motorcycle shop!? I finally got my coffee to go and was extremely delighted on how good it was. As I was leaving, I saw my barista, Simon (super nice guy), outside and complimented on how good and natural tasting the lavender was. He went on to describe the process of how he boils the lavender for a couple of hours to extract the flavors! The taste was totally worth the effort! Kudos Simon! Im very pleased with the coffee and the people there! If I drive by again and parking is available, I'll definitely stop in for another cup! Decent little coffee shop The location itself is nice as it is nestled in LA on a quiet street so there is guaranteed parking. Their menu is short and simple with drinks and some food options. I do wish they had more specialty drinks to make things exciting. I got the vanilla latte with oat milk, decaf is not available here unfortunately but LUCKILY the caffeine in the beans they do have wasn't too strong. A nice little place tucked in between a barber shop and a vintage looking clothing store. Loving the esthetic decor this shop has paired with good music. We got the black sesame latte and espresso tonic, both are amazing. Im pretty picky when it comes to espresso tonic, I have to admit they did it really well. The espresso they use is very balanced and not on the acidic side which ia what I usually prefer. The staff is very chill and laid-back which fits the shop's vibes. I wanted to like Etiquette Coffee, but overall it was a pretty mixed experience for me. The coffee itself honestly wasn't great -- I'd give it about a 6 out of 10. What really threw me off, though, was the service. When I asked simple questions about the espresso, the barista came off very condescending and dismissive, responding in a way that made me feel stupid for even asking. I'm not a coffee expert, and the way he spoke to me made that feel like a problem rather than just a normal question. That said, the atmosphere was genuinely nice -- I loved the interior, the décor, the chill music, and the seating area. The vibe inside is probably the best part of the place. Parking was terrible, which didn't help. Overall, I'd give it a 6 out of 10 -- decent ambiance, but the coffee and service really held it back. read more

You know they say the red flags you ignore in the beginning. Are the reasons that you end up breaking up at the end. I remember the first time I came here. I was completely odd by the aesthetics of the place, after a couple of tries I realize that the coffee was just not good I really wanted to like this place, I gave it so many chances I kept coming back. I love the vibes the quiet the low-key outbid the way secret spot ..... but unfortunately that's where it all ends. The coffee here is always been below average, the cappuccinos are watery and flavorless, and I'm not even mad that it's one of the most pretentious places in downtown LA but when you make absolutely zero effort to serve your version of a breakfast burrito, and it is the absolute worst burrito, probably in the entire state of California, but to be fair, they didn't make it here. It's it's made by uncle Paulies deli, which is nothing more than a marketing scam. It's not a good 1st impression... Noticed the staff were friendly and talkative toward the regulars... to me, it was just straight to the point, short responses... Maybe we ain't hip enough?!!... 2. The guy that runs the coffee, Pedro always had a big smile on his face, and is super knowledgeable. His coffee is great quality, his pours are always beautiful! Plus the sandwiches are such treat! I was in the area to donate clothing to the Downtown Women's Shelter when I decided to pop over here. I love supporting local biz. Pros: indoor & outdoor seating, the latter of which is cute, spacious, and rather comfortable to read a book, chat with friends, or maybe do some work -- though there are no outlets for your laptop. It's shaded, so bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Cons: It's in the most random location in a building that's shared with a barber shop and tattoo parlor with only street parking. It's in the Arts District (AD). Anyone who knows the AD knows parking here is a crapshoot. I got lucky and was able to snag a spot on Sacramento and Santa Fe (1 block over). They charge $1 for alternative milk and $1.50 for an extra shot -- unnecessarily excessive. How about something more reasonable like 50-75 cents? There are some coffee shops that don't charge for alt milk at all, which is awfully nice and generous. The hot lavender oat latte that I ordered was pretty, but a tad heavy-handed on the lavender syrup with not enough 'kick' of the espresso. I'm not sure if they add a double shot to lattes by default. If they did, it sure didn't taste like it. Makes me think I should have ordered a 'quad shocker.' The one male barista on-site only asked me how I was when I walked in, but went on talking to two guys at the counter. He then yelled out, "Anything else?!" I heard this but didn't know he was addressing me as he was standing in front of the two guys. I thought he was talking to them. He repeated, "Anything else" out loud when I looked up and noticed he was asking me. Aside from this, he made no other conversation with me. This was a little startling. There is no shortage of indie coffee shops in LA. Competition is stiff. And parking at some of these other shops is much easier. Nothing too exciting going on here. read more

I came on Sat, 11/12/2022 at around 3:00 PM for some much needed caffeine after hitting up a nearby bridal shop with my friends. This was my first time checking out Etiquete Coffee, which is located in E 8th Street and S Santa Fe Ave. I'm not sure how the parking is, but we parked in the lot at Luv Bridal two blocks down since we had an appointment earlier that day. All three of us ordered a Lavender Latte with Oat milk - $6 + $1= $7 for alternative oat milk- 2 hot, 1 iced. Honestly, I was quite unimpressed with the coffee. The lavender flavor taste was lacking and there wasn't much espresso flavor. It was like a lightly flavored oat latte in my opinion and it was too lightly sweet. It needed a teensy bit more sweetener. I know the cost is pretty standard but it was a little disappointing to spend $7 on a drink for it to be just mediocre. :( Anyways, the decor and aesthetic of the store was very sleek and chic, with tones of wood, black, and white. It looked so pleasing to the eye -very pinterest or instagram-esque lol. All in all, I wouldn't come by again.. maybe to try another drink but I'd skip the lavender Latte. read more

Very cool spot to grab some coffee and hang out with your friends/family. Finding this location wasn't too hard and you are able to park off the street. It's a dirt road and looks a bit sketchy however, once inside it looks nothing like the outside. Inside you have the coffee shop along with a pool table, barber shop, and private bathrooms. There must be some other establishments that share this building. The worker here was super cool and recommended his personal favorite drinks and the descriptions behind each of them. I ordered the Shocker ($7) because I needed a big pick-me-up and it reminded me of Vietnamese Iced Coffee with the condensed milk addition. Although a bit pricey, the drink came out great and indeed had a strong robust taste of coffee, but balanced enough with the sweetness in the condensed milk. It makes a great pair and will do the trick to make you stay concentrated and stay up. There is plenty of seating to go around. With the choice of inside or outside, the environment is casual enough to study for an exam or conversate with friends. read more
