Stopped by on a Saturday late morning. We were seated immediately and while our waitress was friendly, everything seemed to take a little while even though they weren't busy. But we weren't in a hurry. My friend had the Denver omelette which she enjoyed. I had the steak and eggs. While the steak was cooked to order, there was a lot of grizzle, so probably more than half of it didn't get eaten. Not sure it was worth the $23. On the upside, the hashbrowns were absolutely perfect! Portions were generous and it's a cute little place. It was quiet with enough parking. I wouldn't order the steak again or make a special trip for Cafe 36, but if you happen to be in the area, it's a decent place for breakfast. FYI: the menu prices are cash, for credit card payments there's a 3.5% up charge. The only mention of this is via a sign at the cash register. Also, alcoholic beverages were on the menu, but not available because they didn't renew their liquor license. read more

We were greeted by a very nice person when we arrived. It took a few minutes for the server to come to the table to get our drink order. After she brought our drinks she left the table and didn't come back for quite a while. After finally taking our order, we waited for almost an hour before our food came out. When we asked if our food was almost ready, we were told it was about to come out. That was 20 minutes before we received it. The food was good, but definitely not worth the price. read more

Cute little place. Server was very kind , she took care of us but gave us our space as well. The food however ...I thought the cook was having an off day but was told this is how things always are. Everything was unappealing , just kinda thrown on the plate and blah with no flavor or burnt to a crisp .. Even the grilled cheese sandwich one of the kids had. We were a little skeptical at first, but the moment we were greeted at the front door we knew we were in for a treat. If you're looking for amazing breakfast and even better service--look no further. The Meat Lovers Skillet is a 10/10 for anyone who loves a hearty meal. From where I sat, I could see into the kitchen, and it was nothing but hardworking people giving their best to cook up the tastiest food in the area. The smell of fresh pancakes and coffee fills the air, and the cozy, eclectic, and cute décor makes the place feel so welcoming. Now let's talk about the service--Denise is an absolute angel! Home visiting family and lucky to have stopped here for breakfast. I ordered Moroccan breakfast for myself and Mickey Mouse pancake for my daughter to go. The Moroccan breakfast was kofta, over easy eggs, and toast. The Mickey Mouse pancake was served with over easy egg. I've been meaning to try it since moving to this area years ago and am so glad I finally did! There aren't a ton of options close to me here for a great brunch but I'll be coming back. The menu has classic choices but also some unique ones with a Mediterranean flair. We took the waitress's recommendation and had the Moroccan Breakfast and the Batman Special (ask the story behind the name...cute). The Moroccan Breakfast featured "kefta"...never heard of it but it was recommended. Really great flavors! While so simple, the highlight were the hashbrowns. I'm not always a fan but they were so perfectly cooked I ate them all. My MIL got the other recommendation and she ate all of hers as well, and she is a picky eater. Great corned beef. The waitress (so mad I didn't get her name) was really lovely and attentive. I'll be back and want to try a more basic brunch staple to see how it is. I want to say we were very pleasantly surprised with the service, the food and the quality. This restaurant may be the best in the area for breakfast and lunch. I am so glad that we tried them again. Cafe 36, more like Cafe can't eat here for under $36. (GREAT FOOD) I will start by saying the food was great, no issues there. (SLOW) Went on a Sunday, party of (2), no wait, sat right away, place was busy but not overly full, took an hour and 10min to get our food/eat/pay. Breakfast meals take 2min to cook, idk what happened. (EXPENSIVE) It was over $40 for (2) people to eat breakfast, and one is a vegetarian so no meat on one plate. That's just not right. read more

We went to cafe 36 this evening. We arrived at 6:15 and they close at 7 :00. We usually come here for breakfast and that has a great Mediterranean twist . We ordered a a gyro and a Rueben and they were both awesome. Food is always fresh , and flavorful. Staff is always friendly and professional. Sam the owner has a gift with his cuisine. I was so impressed with our take out this past Friday! I've driven past this restaurant numerous times, never taking the time to learn anything about it, assuming it was another standard American restaurant. While they do have many American menu items, there's a very good selection of Mediterranean food...a welcome addition to the food choices in this area! I ordered the baked fish (as it was a Friday in Wisconsin), and the moroccan shrimp. Oh, and the baklava. It was all fantastic! The roasted veggies, potato pancakes, rice, side salad and baklava. The Moroccan dishes were delicious. As our waitress said, "softly spiced like grandma would". Our table for 10 was ready, every one said they loved the crazy flavor combinations. My Lemon Chicken was made with lemon rinds which the chef ages for 2 years. I took a snip of lemon rind on every fork full - amazing. Rice was perfectly done and lightly spiced. Hubby had the Chicken Bastilla which is in a Pastry with a bit of cinnamon and powdered sugar! Awesome flavor (and he is pretty much an American hamburger man). Salad was light and fresh, but again different. Combination appetizer had Zaalour, Taktouk and Hummus with Toasted Points was a treat. If you're not adventurous, they have some American food. But I think you would be "missing the boat!" If you want 'drive thru' service, these dishes are not for you. Brought home and reheated - still wonderful. Absolutely will go again! read more

We were regular customer at Sam's on North Tichigan. Since moving to Cafe 36 this place has gone down hill in regards to service. This will be our last try. Went in this morning with 75% of tables full and the remaining dirty. Waitress said sit anywhere. Picked cleanest of dirty tables. Sat for 10 minutes without anyone cleaning the table or acknowledging us. Finally grabbed their attention. "It's a long wait, Do you want coffee, are you staying?" We left and won't be back. Shame is the food is good. Also Cafe 36 was not following Covid-19 guidelines. read more

My mother and I came here after a 5K in town. While it's Christmas Eve and we don't wanna be crabby about it, it's hard not to be. We waited 45 minutes for our food! 45 minutes! For pancakes! And right after we got our food, a table of 5 next to us that came in much later, got their food. Just not right-Christmas Eve or not. Super disappointing. Best breakfast anywhere! American food is all made from scratch,including corned beef for Reubens. Sam is of Moroccan descent so his Moroccan food is authentic and amazing. We followed him from Sams Diner and love this place!! Our grandkids have been going to Sams since they were babies and they LOVE the Batman breakfast. We eat there at least once a week.
