We came here for a caffeine fix, ordering the following: +Turkish Coffee +Latte with almond milk +a Pistachio Latte +and, a Spanish Latte We also tried their mini bird's nests, a few filled with chocolate, and another few filled with pistachio - these were actually pretty tasty! Unfortunately, the coffee was not brewed well and was extremely weak; they looked aesthetically pleasing, though, with the latte art and/or the toppings. Staff were friendly; once you order, your items will be ready for you on the side counter. The space is bright, and they have a handful of seating inside - the place is popular, so you may have to wait a few for a table. Came here after work to finish up some task. Coffee is pretty good. I see some complaints about price, yes they are same price as Starbucks, at least from what I ordered. Also they have a 3% credit card fee. Nice. I don't remember they warned me about that. Service is odd. No one greet you or say anything. From pistachio to chai, and every flaky bite in between Went back to Cafe 44 for a friend catch up date and it was just as good as the first time when I went! Pictured here is the pistachio latte (which, was....INCREDIBLE), Nutella croissant, pistachio donut, and an iced chai latte! Everything on the table was delicious and fresh! Each pastry was so soft and perfectly filled inside, the latte was so yummy and I usually never get hot lattes unless it's cold outside but I'm so happy I tried it because it's a must the pistachios on the side of the cup add an extra crunch when drinking that I couldn't get enough of! The iced chai latte was very refreshing, it wasn't too sweet and you really get the punch of the chai. The service here is so sweet and they are just the best and it's such a beautiful place to bring friends and hang out, or get work done! You need to check this place out!:) Sip, smile, repeat! For months I've been curious about Cafe 44 but have never found the right time to stop in. This morning I finally got the chance. It's a very nice bright and airy cafe with so much light it's practically glowing in here. I don' think they have a large menu, mostly pastries (including a savory one or two). I got one of their refreshers and it was sooooo good. And I'm so excited that it seems that this is part of their regular menu, when many shops limit that to chai, hot chocolate, and maybe a special now and again. It doesn't seem like they have online ordering, but for the drinks I ordered it took maybe five minutes. They do have a tablet on the wall where you can place your order on your own. There's lots of seating here, and a bit of parking outside as well. The parking is directly in front of the place on Church, and though I saw a little area on the west of the cafe I'm not sure if that's actually parking. read more

Been here one a while back from what I can recollect. I ordered their cold brew and bagel with cream cheese and it was like any other local cafe spots I've been to. They bring their modern and cozy vibe and their customer service was top notch as they take care of their customers. read more

I've had a chance to stop by a few times, sometimes a pastry to-go and other times we've been able to sit down. A very nice cafe and bakery! The menu is not too packed but sufficiently diverse between hot and cold and coffee and energy drinks. The service is fine but a little patient (even for just plucking a pastry from the display case). If you have a seat, they nicely bring the food and drinks to you. The decor is gloss white meets industrial vents which is sufficient but I wouldn't call it cozy. I think there's a lot in store for Cafe 44 as it continues to grow. read more

This is a sweet and bright cafe at Church/Waukegan in Morton Grove. I put the cross street address because Cafe 44 must be for "9144 Waukegan" I am surmising, although if you are looking on Waukegan, you may drive past as I did. Enter off Church Street, there was street parking and a lot behind the building. I tried a matcha latte with strawberry flavoring, it was a pretty green beauty served in an enormous mug. The almond croissant looked so tempting, but it was a little too crispy for my taste and the flavoring was too strong. I did pick up some of the viral Dubai chocolates to share with friends. Overall, I thought there were lots of tempting baked goods, in addition to beignets, baklava, and gelato. Plenty of small tables, and off to the side there was a comfy couch setup. Been passing by this coffee shop a lot and finally had the chance to go. Apple Maps had the wrong business hours listed but the owner still opened up the door for us 20 mins after closing and even insisted on making us coffees to go. TL;DR Finally! A cute cafe in Morton Grove with great coffee/tea options and friendly service. The space is very clean and modern with comfy chairs and a sofa. One wall has a full glass garage door which lets in lots of light during the day and makes the overall atmosphere very pleasant and welcoming (especially on those cold winter days). The cappuccino my mother ordered was delicious and my matcha latte was perfectly prepared and just what I was craving on a cold day. The women who work there are all very sweet and friendly and we had a nice chat about their future plans for the menu and the cafe in general. We chatted for a while about the different flavored syrups they have and the need for someplace open late on weekends. I can happily say I finally have a nice place to meet up with friends and family when I'm in the area. I wish them lots of luck! read more

Stopped by Café 44 for a quick coffee break and was pleasantly surprised! Service was quick. I kept it simple with a classic black coffee smooth, fresh, and just what I needed. I also grabbed a feta cheese-filled pastry that was light, flavorful, and clearly fresh out of the oven. I decided to try something new and went with the apple tart my first time ordering a tart, and it did not disappoint. Sweet, flaky, and well-balanced. But the real standout? The chocolate and pistachio baklava bites. I've never seen anything like them at another café, and they were absolutely delicious crispy, rich, and totally unique. Its 3-22-25 and they have been open 2 months since January 2025 and its buzzing in here with people and they open til 12am. It's very aesthetically pleasing here! The drinks, ambience, desserts. The staff Denise and Aziz are wonderful and unique. Denise and Aziz are very sweet staff. Aziz also makes the artistic designs in the lattes. See his work in my pics! The lattes are so good! Pistachio flavors too! Free and plenty parking, lots of space, very bright lighting and beautiful light hanging from the ceiling, high ceiling cabin feel top, sockets for charging devices, comfortable and modern seating... beautiful trays the food comes in! The interior gives a Scandinavian prison vibe and I mean that as a compliment. There is not a lot of decor on the walls, the paint is fresh and clean, and it's bright inside with a lot of light coming in from the windows. The women working there are very nice. There's decent amount of seating. I like that they had coloring paper and crayons for kids. First time visit for a quiet Sunday morning coffee.. great space, great pastries and great coffee. Bright and airy space, can't believe how late they are open! Nice for those who work 2nd shift or overnight workers.. they can get a coffee and pastry to go that is fresh and not "chain" like another donut place that shall be nameless. Amazing New bakery and cafe spot in Morton Grove. We walked in early Saturday morning and it was popping. I got a Dubai filled croissant, which was amazing very generous on the filling and the croissant had phenomenal texture! I don't drink coffee so I'm not sure what the coffee taste like. Welcome to Morton Grove Cafe 44 thanks to ExploreChicago Instagram page- found out about this place and was so shocked to find out "close" to me it is. This area of Waukegan ave has a lot but it does not a specialty/local coffee shop so this is a perfect addition to the neighborhood. I was a little surprised by how large the location is- did not see that coming at all. I will say that the spaced itself inside feels large because the decoration are a minimum but once people start pouring in, there's a vibe. I think the only thing that would make the space a bit more cozy would be adjusting the lights- it's SO bright haha. Staff was super nice, had the biggest smiles on their faces and were great in explaining the menu and choices. I ordered two caramel lattes, coffee drip and a Nutella beignet. The coffees were delicious- the beignet out of those world but could've tasted even better if it was just warmed up maybe 10 seconds. Their bakery goods are outsourced but the selection is still amazing, don't skip out on the gelato ice cream. The portion that won me over the most was the coloring sheets and crayons- okay where do I sign up for coffee membership? Love places that keep kids in mind- thank you for recognizing that kids need some type of entertainment so that parents and caregivers can enjoy their coffee still hot. I tried the Spanish latte and the Dubai chocolate- it was delicious. The place is great to meet for work or just hang out.

I especially enjoyed the custard filled donut and the vegan fudge bar. The pistachio oat latte was a great pairing along side the pastries, having the right about of strength and sweetness.
