Just Fabulous. We went there for our anniversary while we were in town . it is on the second floor of the hotel and they have valet parking . We arrived a little before 5:30 and we made reservations requesting a nice view of the ocean . We chose our table furthest in ...beautiful. We explained the gluten and dairy sensitivities and they were very , very accommodating. Their gluten free bread was great and my husband and daughter were very pleased. While in Myrtle Beach SC for our 5 year anniversary vacation I decided to try Cafe Amalfi after finding a restaurant.com gift certificate and I thought this would be a nice place for our anniversary dinner. I was right! Both my boyfriend and I loved this place. When he made the reservation he got to pick out our table overlooking the ocean and they even said they would do something special for us. When we arrived we saw that they had put a beautiful blue table cloth on our table (none of the others had any) and had added a big hurricane glass with a candle and a few little starfish to decorate the table. It was so pretty. Our server George was the nicest and he really took great care of us. I ordered the crispy duck which was excellent. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp pot which he said was good but lacked flavor. We also had the crab bisque and lobster mac and cheese. Both were to die for. Both the service and food were excellent and I can't complain about anything! If you are looking for a fine dinning restaurant you really should try this place. I don't think you will be disappointed. If we ever get back to Myrtle Beach again we will be sure to stop in here and have another fabulous meal. read more

Found this restaurant at the Hilton Hotel at Kingston Plantation, and glad we did. It was a slow night in the restaurant, but the food was great. The restaurant overlooks the ocean, and provides a nice backdrop during dinner. The Blackened Mahi Mahi with a Corn Maque Choux, and topped with a fennel onion salad was delicious. This is an Oceanview restaurant in the Myrtle Beach Hilton Resort hotel. You can valet for free or park in the garage for free. We opted for the self parking. My friends I and dined here on a Saturday evening around 6. We were seated immediately and the view is just breathtaking! I ordered the salmon with asparagus, carrot nage, and parmesan risotto. The salmon was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I don't really eat risotto much, but this one tasted good to me. Two of my friends ordered the crab stuffed flounder and both were happy with their meals. The other friend ordered the crab cakes and she said it was dry and also did not come with a remoulade sauce, thus the 4 stars. One friend also ordered the seafood chowder, which she enjoyed. It looked as if it was full of chunks of meat. Our salads had fresh lettuce and the fresh bread was addictive. We had butter and parmesan cheese with olive oil and herbs to dip the bread and that was yummy. Our waiter George took care of our every need and was funny. I'll agree with some that it was not totally up to Hilton Standards. Several of us were there for a week at a conference. I had the breakfast buffet every morning. It was pretty good but not great. The biscuits and gravy were almost tasteless. The bacon tasted very good but was very greasy. The scrambled eggs were good and I had these every day. I ate lunch there one day and had a burger. No complaints with this. The one problem area is with the wait staff. A couple of mornings they opened late because one or more were late to work. One morning there was only one waitress and she was bound and determined to take it out on everyone. It is a shame when they have a conference of 500 people they don't have the reliable staff to take care of their customers. There was one woman and one man that were really good and one woman that was a real b****. After the first day my friends wife refused to come back down for breakfast. read more

The food was honestly not very impressive. We had lunch there, and the menu is limited, so i thought if they only make a few things, they moist make them very well! The server was very kind and apologetic about the length of our wait for our appetizer that took over 30 minutes! So we didn't make a big deal of it, we're on vacation and don't sweat the little things typically. The calamari was a bit undercooked and most pieces were chewy... surprising since it took so long to cook! The tomato compote on my wedge salad tasted like they put a can of tomato paste on my plate, and the bacon looked pretty and crispy, but was freezing cold and no longer crispy, which was disappointing. My husband enjoyed his veggie pizza which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2. The ambiance is very causal, so not sure why the website states it's fine dining. The staff was very accommodating as we had a large party and showed with no reservations. The food was great and everyone enjoyed their meal. We were looking for a quick bite at the beach bar but were told after 7pm we had to go inside to Cafe Amalfi. Classic old hotel style. Our waiter George could not have been better. We absolutely love this place. Def a favorite for breakfast brunch and recently had dinner there. As a seafood restaurant, we have a son with a fish allergy. The chef came to our table to discuss and really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. They made pancakes with whipped cream for our young son, which he was excited about, and made him feel very special, which is usually the opposite with his allergy. It is wonderful to know that they went out of their way to make us feel satisfied. By the way, we had prime rib, Mahi Mahi, burgers, and pasta, all of which were fantastic!! The app calamari was also awesome, and the service was polite and nice as well. Brunch is excellent with fresh fruit and made to order service. The food isn't stellar, but the view.... We only had breakfast there. They have a decent breakfast buffet. The potatoes are sort of gray, but everything else seemed pretty good. I enjoyed the sautéed zucchini mix every morning, as well as fresh fruit and yogurt. They also will make you omelettes and waffles to order. I really appreciated that they did excellent egg white omelettes. The servers were also very attentive and quick. The 5 stars is really for the service and view. I love this restaurant. The waiter George makes the experience like one is dining at the Ritz-Carlton.....he is super classy and makes us always feel like royalty....super sweet... They have done many upgrades....the beautiful paint complements the Ocean right outside the window.....they have done wonderful improvements on the lighting and the wooden floors give it a very sophisticated feel.... We ate our Thanksgiving dinner here and they offered a great selection of entrees and carving stations: the traditional turkey and steamship round, seafood, smoked salmon, salad, cheese, then various entrees like pork belly, encrusted mahi, braised ribs, and pork loin. My wife and I went here for the first time tonight, and it won't be our last. Food was very good, but you can get good food at a lot of places, it's the service that makes a meal a truly special occasion. Our server, George, could not have possibly provided better service, and his sense of humor kept us smiling every time we interacted with him. In addition the woman server for the next table saw the "mountain high" carrot cake we got for dessert and said to us "you'll have to roll out of here if you eat all that"! This restaurant offers a one of a kind experience that leaves you wanting more . I ate here three times in 3 days , once for lunch and twice for dinner . This review is only for my dinner experience. Where to begin , the bacon wrapped scallops with the bourbon sauce are to die for and are a great appetizer. The first night we ordered the crab stuffed flounder and the filet mignon. My steak wasn't the temperature I requested but my server George was on top of it and he fixed it right away . When the steak came back it was perfect and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The second night we came we had a special blackened salmon with fingerling potatoes and I had the crab stuffed flounder and we were both more than satisfied. I left the best part for last , the service . Wow is all I can say , I don't ever remember receiving such personable , professional and attentive service in my life. I'm in the service industry and it's very rare for me to blown away as I was both nights . George was more than our server , his attentiveness and anticipation for our needs were on point. Staff was friendly, valet was free with a tip; that's about all I can say about this place that is flattering. The filet was ordered medium rare. The filet I got it was well done.
